Thanks, experimenting with different post works.
Speaking of which, Philemos Cutouts & Blimps plugin mixed with GMIC
And another crazy critter.
Spaceships
this one is my favourite - that looks like real ink pen hatching!
ha ha , just so whimsical this one, so full of fun! (like me :) ) !
Thanks, ink pen hatching on the figure is real, is something that I used off the net for Philemos excellent Cutout & Blimp plugin, was having fun using it on a number of sources.
Trex and Triceratops
Sailing Ship
Beech Staggerwing
Autumn
very cool ship, render and plane Bunyip.. did you model the plane?
Walls End
Thanks Stezza - love the golf club.
Plane is the Beechcraft G17S Staggerwing for Poser by Digimation ModelBank over at Rendo, still working on my modelling skills - is one of my New Years resolutions to stop buying stuff and make models instead !!!
heh, nothing like a subtle politcal message
greetings Bunyip02, very impressive this last series of images - amazing amount of illustration styles you are producing - this one is my favourite
Thanks, hopefully will be giving this thread a lot more love this year.
terrific feeling of almost colour pencil in this - great you can give the thread more love - me too wil try as my work committments slow down a little (i hope) I've already done an entire year's work this financial year :(
here's an off shoot of the current challenge
Note to self - must start at page 52 and look through everything I've missed
yes well worth a gander Dart
something from present challenge
put glow on a fountain and addede aura for this one
combines depth pass coverage pass material diffus pass on top of a shadow pass - the material diffuse pass is handy for getting back lost textures while postworking
postwork in photodonut and fortosketcher and layers use overlay parameter quite frequently to get pencil textures
Thanks, combination of FotoSketcher & PhotoDonut. As regards work and no play, been there done that - don't burn yourself out !!!
Looking good !!!
Nice wizard !!
Welcome back !!!
Thanks! Great to be back home again!
Wow, HW!
Have I ever told you that I totally love your artistic style? Seriously. I love what comes out of your paintings into my psyche! Totally! Immersively!
thanks Dart and Bunyip02 - that's very kind ;)
something from the present challenge : I like the second one best
here's a couple of variations including Dart's elegant ambient occlusion observations
1st) this I had to turn the occlison radius up to 8ft - it has a toonpro, wireframe pro and coverage pass incoorporated over the top (multiply parameter) to show off some line work
2) this second one is the same as the above with a beauty pass on a top layer. The paramter linear light is used on this layer - to bring out more of a cartoony look
Next one uses the photoshop filter 'graphic pen' on the ambient pass. On top of that I used two neutral grey laters with Overlay parameters to give a bit more ink work'. I also ran them through the graphic pen but used different angles for the pen lines
As above but run through filter forge's "sketchbook filter" to reduce the highlights
Final tweaking. I took above image and ran it run through 'poster edges' ps filter. Then dropped the shadow pass on top (parameter to 'multiply'). Tweaked that the shadow pass's tonal levels to reduce the midtone brightness.
I'll probably make the area where the figure is a little brighter to make the focal point more obvious....
Very Very Cool!!!
thanks Dart, there's alo the Photon map to be explored as well :) Here's a detail from an image I just finished.
I've been copying and pasting my images from fgacebook but they keep vanishing in these threads...
Photodonut2 has been released. Variations on a thame. All have various filters except the last which is wireframepro and ambient pass and shadow pass combined. The plane is a shadowcatcher. PDF attached as images may vanish in a few weeks - facebook ones.
One final variation. This one uses various pen and pencil Photodonut filters individually on the shadow pass, the toon pro pass, the ambient occlusion pass
then combines them with multiply parameters - adjusted opacity and levels in each layer to taste
Finally I flooded a top layer with warm brown to give a sepia look and c hanged parameter to 'colour'.
