I still haven't copied the generation 4 runtime library to the dual-core computer. Maybe I'll just download a few outfits and characters using DIM. I don't really feel like copying 16 GB of data onto a slow, external hard drive.
Edit: my single core computer still has Windows XP. lol. The game actually runs on the Windows 7 dual-core computer with graphics set to low. I should rename the thread: my experiments with computers that can barely run 3D programs. hah
I should convert my old scenes to Daz Studio 4.6 duf format. Here is my old scene rendered in Studio 3. Someone suggested that I turn off/hide the ceiling. The scene looks better when the distant light shines onto the figures.
Maddie is jumping for the control panel. Ok, I'm going to convert the scene files to duf format and replace the distant lights with advance lights by Age of Armor.
Also, the openGL preview window is faster after I turned display optimization on.
Daz Studio 3 took 7 minutes to save the scene above. Daz Studio 4 saves scenes faster than Studio 3.
Here is Genesis in Daz Studio 4. When I can use the dual-core Pentium I will adjust the shadows and add another character.
Red and orange. I forgot to adjust the shadow softness of the advanced distant light. Posing figures by hand is somewhat time consuming.
Time consuming, but rewarding. I find that with pre-fab poses, I often end up fiddling so much, that I wonder why I didn't fiddle it together from scratch in the first place ;)
Click.. click. Reminds me of some action computer games that I play. lol
Teegra in her little, black dress. I'm just playing around before I do more test renders of outfits. I just wanted to see how a black dress would look against the color orange. I should fix the lighting in this scene first.
Danties for Boudior bliss. Tomorrow, I'll let Luxrender run longer if I have time.
Fun with Octane demo. I need to find some tutorials. GPU runs at 150 degrees F or 65.5 Celsius. I hardly use Celsius.
Apparently, I clicked the wrong button or menu item the first time.
edit: removed old image
I found an old obj scene. Now I need to learn how to position the camera. Octane runs fast on a $65 video card with 96 cuda cores. Wow.
Apparently, I forgot to export the textures with the geometry data.
Fun with Octane. Closeup of Victoria 4's feet in stockings. The GPU temperature is in Fahrenheit. I'm going to redo the scene in post number 340 now.
How is Octane so fast? After Octane ran for 15 - 20 minutes on $65 video card, the scene looks decent. Boudoir high heels on Genesis 2 Bree.
Another render of feet and legs. This scene uses a ton of memory. I'm going to render Victoria 4 by herself to see how much memory she uses. The low camera angle shows an interesting perspective.
Observation: Pretty3D makes short skirts. The panties don't cover too much skin. The black panties in this render are in the shadow of the skirt.
$11.48 is a good deal because the outfit comes with versions for Victoria 4 and Genesis 2.

I think Teegra or the hair uses a lot of memory. I'm going to render a human wearing the same hair but in a different outfit.
Looks like I need to buy a new video card with more memory soon.
I must say the Octane renders look very impressive. I find myself a little tempted.
Hi, thanks for looking. Octane does require an NVIDA card like the GeForce 520 or newer. I would also recommend having at least 2 or 3 gigabytes of video memory on the video card.
Here is Lana wearing boudior bliss. I think Teegra's texture uses a lot of memory. I'll try rendering Genesis 2 next.
I find Scribus hard to learn. :( I will use OpenOffice.org instead. Thanks for the comment Novica.

Perfect shoes for Genesis by Fisty.
The main texture for the shoes are grey in color. I had to edit the diffuse color in Octane. Lana is wearing black nail polish on her toes.
Red high heeled shoes and white stockings by Predatron and Diane. The underwear uses a lot of memory. I'm going to render Bree in a swimsuit now.
The scene looks dark because I was playing with HDRI and its light's settings.
In the render above, the underwear and shoes use a lot of memory.
I just realized something: I can reduce the resolution of the textures to reduce memory usage. I resized the copies of the larger textures in Gimp. I wonder how Bree's face will look like with a texture of 2,048 by 2,048 pixels.
I never did upload the closeup of Bree's face with low resolution textures.
OpenGL render. I should buy NGM for V4. The boobs that morphs ++ looks unrealistic.
Apparently, Catgirl for Genesis loads sub surface shaders. Hmm. I need to turn of SSS and reduce the specularity settings.
Open office is so much easier to use than Scribus.
Catgirl with basic female shape. On the right, I dialed in a morph from natural gravity morphs for Genesis.
Catgirl annotated. I typed some notes so that I can use Catgirl as a drawing reference when I draw characters with skirts. I have trouble visualizing where a woman's hips are when I draw skirts.
Sorry for the small size. Maybe I should create an OpenOffice.org document in landscape view next time.
The reflections on the glass are nice.
Me poking fun at my renders of half-naked women.
edit: I should find how much memory two copies Victoria 4 uses in one scene.
Sexy outfits are courtesy of Pretty 3D.
Memory usage:
first scene is 1.35 GB in pose mode, 1.65 GB during the 3Delight render
second scene is 1.2 GB in pose mode
Mind you, I am using the 1.8 GHz computer running Windows XP with the /3GB boot switch.
I'll work on the second scene tomorrow.
Edit: the /3GB switch just caused my video card driver to crash. Looks like I'll need to use the /3GB switch with caution.
