I better go to bed before I think my elbows are dry.   I am thinking that my feet are dry right now.

Grease your elbows and go for it, no-ones judging.

    Done so now sleepy time

Ugh, too much spicy food over the weekend and today it catches up with me. sad

Fortunately it's only 12 feet from the laptop to the bathroom... indecision

I was going to suggest something if it was a real problem but I do not know if you have any roommates or housemates who would be offended by the suggestion

I live alone, and thankfully things are better today.

I won't be doing THAT again!

...I hope to be doing the same again if I can get HUD approval.

The reminder isn't that bad.  One click on the "X" and it goes away for a day or two.  It's not like it grabs you and ties you down and keeps you from doing anything.  laugh

All updates to Windows will be for Windows 10 after a certain point.  There will be no more big version to install, there will be small updates, sort of like the updates we get for other existing software.  But they will only be for 10.  So eventually you'll have to switch.  I'm just waiting for all the kinks to be worked out...and maybe for a heftier computer on which to run it.

Nope I cannot imagine it.  I am guessing it will be more headache than it is worth.  Anyone and everyone would want to be my friend until the money is gone.

Why yes, yes I can imagine it. yes  Unfortunately, that has very little effect on the outcome of the drawing. surprise  One day I'm going to run out of bubbles to burst. sad

I'd like to try an experiment though.  What if everybody in the world imagined me winning 675 million dollars?  Would that help the outcome?  OK, at noon today US EST everybody imagine me winning and I'll buy a ticket at that moment.

    Meh, meh, meh. indecision

Was just about to give up hope when the phone started ringing - looks like this years budget is getting approval at some companies, so some hope returns.

Going to move out of the expensive place during the job search - need to make food money stretch before I end up renting my body out on the street! surprise

Lunch time - hamburger and beans!

If you don't want it, I'd glady take it off your hands.  I'd probably give a lot away to family and friends who need help.

i'm setting up my printer for peer to peer ipv4.  don't know what to set default gateway to, cuz there no gateway.  it's using it's static ip address as default.  i can ping it, but can't print to it, which is the point,  lordvordicore could make this lil story sound more coherent.

You should just use the USB cable.  Unless you are setting up a network printer.  If you are the only one that will be using it, just use the USB cable, never mind this peer to peer stuff.

solved printer problem, had to set default gateway to 0.0.0.0

also had to change subnet mask to 255.255.255.240   it was originally 248  which limits to 6 ip addresses.  printer is #7

it's weird, i'm used to servers or workgroups, this setup has no workgroup or printserver. printers have jetdirects

Morning. There are black hearted clouds from a monsoon's edge drifting over bone-dry city streets but doesn't look like raining any time soon :)

AFAIK the 0.0.0.0 lets (ip4) DNS resolve to all valid ip adresses for this server which for windows I guess would resolve to local host 127.0.0.1 through 127.255.255.255

    :)

...pretty much the case.  That's why I only play the Megabucks as you can actually opt to not have your name be made public if you win.  Yeah the payouts aren't as ludicrous, but heck at my age it's still more than enough.

...for me only if they allow one to select which updates to install like 7 does.  So far their track record with buggy and flawed updates hasn't been very comforting, particularly the Nvidia ones.  If I actually have tio pay them cash money for the OS, I better get full control like I already which includes uninstalling bloatware like Cortana, as even when turned off, it continues to run in background. I have no need for some ridiculous assistant to nag me.

MS lets you download a tool to block updates, but anyhow someone using win 10 told me you set your internet connection to "metered" and updates won't download until you set it back to "unmetered" if that helps :)
