Playing around with a bike model from grabcad.. a real bit of a pain in some ways as every spoke and chain link is an individual object/surface... still nice, though..
Nice
The scene and rider's outfit all seem to fit with the bike!
Dana
Thanks all!
This is a really nice render. The shine is awesome. Are those Tom's shaders for the chrome? What Kind of lighting did you use and is this an Iray render or a 3d delight render?
Sweet! I love her outfit!
So...GL....I did find that I had the 69 Nova SS in my runtime for my older version of Daz 3.0. So I went back to my list of things I bought here at Daz store and found it and re downloaded it and put it in my new Daz 4.9. I loaded it and went to the panel that lists the parts of the car. I found the tires but they were parented to the car and it would not let me unparent them. If I tried to get them in any way off the car, the entire car would vanish along with the tires and rims.
So....tell me how to seperate them from the Nova so I can use them on another car. Help!
You can fix it in photoshop with postwork. Just draw in black under the tire, then use the smudge tool to buff it in. Works for me!
What I noticed was the red car on the right beside it looks like the front left tire is gone completely!
The shaders on the cars are Tom2099's shaders, both the paint and the chrome, it was rendered in iray, the lights I used were also shaders, Iray Real Light Shaders, from DAZ 3D.
I exported the entire car as an obj, and then deleted the various parts of the car I didn't need in Blender, including the hubcaps, that will reveal the mag wheel.
...I have those as well they work really nice.
So here is what I did. I found a tire .obj (I have tons of them) that would take the tire texture that came with the Nova. It fit on this tire almost perfectly. I then deleted the parts to the mag wheel down to the tire alone. I saved it as a daz file and exported it as a stand alone .obj with texture. This way I can match up my wheel rims and put it in this tire. This tire turned out exactly like the ones I have on my real truck. I am really excited about it. I thought of this idea all by myself...(pats self on the back). THIS will work.
Oh...I tried to export the tire in Daz and it exported the entire car as a whole single obj file. Could NOT seperate it from the car no matter what I did. I have resolved the problem now.
Actually Mus, I didn't have to export that one, I simply imported the obj out of the geometries folder into Blender, remember that all of the older Poser content used to use obj's, and then deleted everything that wasn't needed.
I didn't have any problems pulling it apart, unlike exporting it as an entire obj from DAZ Studio, just simply import it from the ADR Speedworks folder in the geometries folder in DAZ Studio, directly into Blender, and work on it from there.
Meridiana, still as beautiful even though she is just a G2 Female, with all the old material files that aren't supposed to work in Iray, but usually do anyway!
Classy!
Dana
and now for something completely different......
It's the Joker's crew! I like it!
Dana
Tramp Graphics that sure is different!!!
Not 100% happy with this mesh.. there are some messed up material zones.. still... not too bad.. I had one of these back in the day..
Did you ever notice that the car models that are our favorites, or are models of something we once had, never seem to have a decent mesh?
Ain’t that the truth!
And how!!!!
I would love to have a 66 GTO, and even the 67 models that are out there are lowsy models in many respects, I know, possibly Turbosquid has it, but they charge gold prices for their stuff, while I have a halfway decent mesh for a 55 Chevy, as we as a couple of 56's and numerous 57's, I have a great model of a 32 Ford from Nationale7 (3D Classics), how about a coupe, either 3 window or 5 window, how about the Victoria? The one car that has more hotrod appeal than any other, the Duece, nobody either makes or its not available at reasonable cost, true, while I do have a sketchup mesh for a Duece Coupe, its a chopped coupe and can't really be built up stock, I know Dan Palatnik has done some really nice Model A Fords, but there are only a couple available at Meshbox, the only other decent ones I know of are either at Turbosquid or at Humpster 3D, both way out of my price range, other more popular vehicles like the 34/35 Fords, the 36, we at least have a decent 40 Ford out there, its a GTA conversion, but its one nice mesh to be sure!
That is just a very small sampling of what I would like to have available!
Theres a GTO over at grabcad thats free.. Haven't looked at it, though so...

That one is a 65, I have a 65 from Schurby that is really a decent model, my first car was a 1966 GTO, that is why I'm so specific about the year, while the 66 and 67 were very similar and shared the same body, they are completely different from the 65.
..my issue is the ones that do look good re
