Nice.  I had a model of a very similar car when I was young.  It had, I think his name was Rat Fink, with it.  Or maybe it was a different name, but that one sticks out in my mind.

That car is available at DAZ, its the 1932 AM Roadster, I pulled the original obj into blender,  removed the fenders, the hood, and then took and put the V8 into it after removing the original engine, the V8 is also available at DAZ and will require some modifications in order to put it into the roadster, then I used tires and wheels from Nationale7, (now 3D Classics) over at Rendo, once I created the prop in Poser7, I then used tom2099's shaders for Iray as well as the appropriate texture files that came with both the car and the wheel and tire pack, for Nationale7's tire textures to work well in Iray, one needs to set the glossiness to about 50%, otherwise you get real shiny tires!

I think the model I had was supposed to be a Ford.  I don't remember if I even ever finished putting it together.  It was a cool model.  The tires were soft, not hard plastic.  It had other itneresting parts, too, I think.  Wow, we're talking mid-to-late 1960s.

That would be the era of those types of models, lots of gasser models as well back then too, since I also still build model cars, you do see some of those older kits come up once in awhile, but they are more collectors pieces now.

As an older of a classic 1960 Corvette whiich I purchased in 1983  (and still own) and salvaged from being a drag strip warrior, I am really enjoying this thread.

I really enjoy all the images but especially those of traditioanl style hot rods and muscle cars.

Can I ask where models like these are avaialbe?

Below is a Vue render of a model I started in Hexagon and finished in Silo3D. I got tired of Hexagon constantly punking out on me... Nevercenter has recently released a 64bit version of Silo.

...I find Hexagon to be a lot easier to work with as its UI doesn't have a steep learning curve of it's own like Blender's does and it is stirctly a dedicated modeller without all the other bells and whistles of a "full featured" app..

Unfortunately Hex is very limited in what formats one can import, and .dff is one it doesn't handle.

Concurr... Blender is way too wonky. Hexagon & Silo3D are quite easy. Rocket3F looks promising as well.

Some of the cars are available from DAZ, some from Renderosity, many of the cars are available available for free from the 3D Warehouse, some from other sites like GTA inside, you just need to convert them into obj files and go from there.

    Nomad, anyone?

I have never seen a 1958 Chevy Nomad. I always thought 57 was their last year. I assumed wrong I can see. Where did you get that model from, if you don't mind me asking. I would love to go get one for my collection. Super nice render.

in 1958 Chevy called it the Yeoman. Here's a photo I snapped of one at the 2016 Atlantic Nationals in Moncton, New Brunswick Canada.

Actually, in 58/59, the Nomad was a 4 door wagon as opposed to the two door model from 55 thru 57, the Yeoman was its own model in 58 and 59.

A Fairlane?  Did Ford have that logo back then?  I thought it was always the oval.

I always thought that last one was Chevy.  It's got a chevron, and those "plus signs".  Weird.

Nope, the last one is for a Ford V8, one of the last emblems they made for some Ford's with a V8 under the hood, after that, they simply started using the an emblem labeling engine size, like 289, or 390.

Ford started changing their logos after they got past the WWII, so yes, the Fairlane name came up with the all new management at Ford, also known as the "Whizkids", Henry was dead and gone by that time, and Henry Ford II was working hard to keep Ford relevant and in the spotlight.

    Nice! Good atmosphere!

Is that bike Ansikos new vintage motorcycle? The one that;s billed as a Knucklehead, but is really a Flathead? and has the tool box set up as an oil tank? and an external seat post spring? (minor nitpicks I knopw, but back in the day I ran a cut down HD ULH flathead...)

Is that the Indian bike that DAZ offered for a while, then pulled?  It was that color, I think, so that's what made me think of that.
