    Complaints:

Nasty diabetic ulcer on my left foot, so it was hit the E.R. on the way in to work to get it looked at.  Did it this morning since my fave wound care specialist was in until 10AM and she's familiar with my situation as she took care of me after my amputation.  Looks like it's not through the second layer of skin so I caught it in time, just need to change dressing twice a day and keep antimicrobal gel on it.  If it gets worse I go back in and spend a few days there.. ugh.. and my medical insurance doesn't start until the 22nd!  indecision

Also got the expected lecture about letting my feet dry out.  Stupid as it sounds, if youi're diabetic it's no joke.. skin dries, it cracks, nice hole grows, it gets infected, you have to catch it quick and treat it or the infetion gets up into your foot and POW it's amputation time. indecision Oh, yeah - diabetes will lower the power of your immune system.  Nice. indecision

Whole affair is depressing as Hell, there's no cure, just putting off the inevitable hopefully long enough that you die of old age or in an accident first. sad

Need beer now, stuck at work.  And the boss scheduled that stupid 3PM demo so that I have to be perky! The bastard! angry

Just re-downloaded "Plan 9 from Outer Space to re-score as a silent movie.  Gives me something to do while waiing for things to heal and for my bloody paycheck to show up.

Not impressed with the folks here at the office.  Nobody seems to know why they do things the way they do as far as firmware update files go, and nobody is answering my questions about what else this app might need to do.  So far, not really interested in going full-time once this contract expires... indecision

Lots of WinCE jobs in the Pacific Northwest, too... devil

No answer from my boss on how we're going to do the demo, his light is on but his office is empty.  TROUTFACE PREDICTS! This will not end well.

...I take it you are still looking for a "Carrara" system.

I'd opt for at least the 16 GB version (2 x 8 GB or 4 x 4GB).  Something just doesn't' sit well with me regarding mismatched memory sticks.

The 3.5 GHz heaxacore i7 would be the best value for rendering speed. As Carrara does not have GPU based rendering, the Nvidia GTX745 (which I think is the base GPU that comes with the system) would probably be fine. I'd definitely opt for the Win7 Pro OS over the Win10 Home edition.

I'd dump the bloatware trial rubbish, especially McAfee. I still cannot get rid of one of it's files on my notebook which occasionally pops up as a conflict with my current AV. Most likely I will have to mess with the registry to eliminate it (something I don't look forward to doing).

Also overclocking is really not necessary unless you plan to do gaming.  Personally I wouldn't bother with it as it will shorten the lifespan of the CPU.

I run Carrara on a four core i7 for years it has been very reliable :)

it looks like i'm gonna have to buy the win7pro oem s/w, new i7s seem all win10, or win7 with/upgrade which i translate as nag time.

bestbuy, selection isn't working for me.  they have a 4000 dollar macpro.  it looks spooky, yet kewl.

went through the hp site's customize, there's no option for none on the ms office option.  ?, they want us to pay every year for the office? i can stick with office 2003 for another 20  years.

really need 2 systems, one for rendering, and one to work on video editing while new footage is rendering.
do i need to worry about cpu overheating writing video files?  wondering if a laptop would handle it.
checking costco everyday, never know when they'll have something worthwhile.

So tired but going to do a sleep study soon

What are they checking for? I had one for sleep apnea. They were going to do a 2 hr period on my back and then turn me to my side and study it on my side as well. After 1 hour of being on my back they woke me up and said I have to put on the CPAP cause I quit breathing 90 times in that hour and they felt uncomfortable letting it go for the 2 hour period. Now that I'm on a CPAP machine at night I no longer snore and I only wake up about 6 times a night, mostly due to my back, restless legs or restroom time.

i shrunk the ship to 10% . had the max altitude to 100 inches.  experimenting to see if 40% cloud altitude would be 40 inches.  still dunno.

...If you already have a version of Office that works for you, I'd just disable and uninstall the 30 day demo.version that comes with the system.  I'm still using my old Office 2K, works fine for my needs. Not a fan of software by subscription either.

    ..ugh, doesn't sound pleasant.

Been having some minor foot troubles lately myself.  No ulcers but sometimes a fair amount of pain on the pressure points.

Also Finding myself being overtired more and more lately, even after a good night's sleep.  Could just be the more sedentary lifestyle especially considering when the weather is bad, I don't go out to do anything. May have to go see the ol' sawbones.

So, in a perfect storm of situations you've paid $3900 to get $1500 worth of service?  Remind me again why it's called insurance.  I understand the purpose of deductables (to keep all the non-wealthy hypocondriacs and desperately lonely people from setting up house in the hospital) but sometimes I remember that deductables are a shell game we're intended to lose.

Not sure but probably sleep apnea.  Basically to see why I am tired all the time but still do sleep at night.
