    Why is January almost over?

Because the billing cycles of credit cards and rental homes demand it.

    Chocolate goes with most anything

What about chicken?  Does chocolate go with chicken?

    ..or Okra?

I've had chicken in a chocolate mole' sauce, it was great! laugh

Found this recipe for http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/chicken-mole-352649.  More complicated than I would use for everyday.  It's easier to just buy a jar of mole.  Turkey mole is good too.

  • Why is January almost over?

It's the March of time.  Oh, wait... only if this is February.

    ..agreed.

My stomach turns if I even glimpse some of those weird food TV reality shows.  Okra has the same effect.

    COMPLAINTS!!

Don't get paid ntil Feb. 15th. and just took out the last of my money.  Not so cold but hella windy.  Tired of reading manuals but the boss is in all day meetings until Thursday.

Worse, it's looking a lot like they hired me to reverse-engineer large parts of their code and extract the algotithms to be moved to other products, as one of the devlopers here just told me they were end-of-lifing this modl I've been handed. indecision

Last time this happened, I ended up leaving in 4 weeks.. this time, I'm going to take them for all the money I can and stuff my savings account in anticipation of doing the job search All Over Again in early April. indecision  Will STILL look good on a resume' as I can letigitimately call this reserse engineering, heh. devil

Lunch time, back to my bulgogi burito!

I switched jobs once to a nice position as head of the  software department (3 person department) in a giant Laser company in Orlando (made giant Lasers) and was asked to move the software from their old computer control robot arm system to the new computer control system.  Piece of cake until I learned that the old machine was a Siemens especially designed for real-time operations, and the new computer was a generic Motorola 68010.  OK, no biggie, just read the code, figure out what it does and rewrite it for the Motorola.  Unfortunately the Siemens was a German design, the manuals were in German, the assembly language was in German, and there were no comments in the code and no documentation about the algorighms. crying  I made some progress learning the assembler language German mnemonics and struggling through the German computer manuals with the aid of a German/English technical dictionary.  I did finally flowchart the algorighm  so I basically knew what it was trying to do, but re-writing them exactly wouldn't have worked for the Motorola because of the architecture differences.  Fortunately, the Motorola was many years newer and much faster than the Siemens so I ended up writing a Siemens emulator to read the object code and when the object code intended to execute a task change or when an interrupt happened I directed it to customized code that simulated in software the hardware based task switching features and interrupt behavior of the Siemens hardware.  Not the ideal solution but like all commercial companies you're working with a whip at your back.  I ended up leaving that company after 1 year and moving to Washington DC at the end of1984 for less stressful work in communication research for the government.

My feelings about fried ice cream.  Never tried it and might leave it that way.  But some people love it.

Got home a bit late from my errands to find the kitchen a mess (none of which was mine) so decided to go for takeout.  Most of the foodie carts a block away were closing up, so headed to the Hawai'ian BBQ place for some Ono Phil's Shoyu Chicken and green salad (as I cannot have the traditional macaroni salad since it is made with Mayo) with a lovely ginger sesame dressing.  Even the "Menehune" (their "small") size is too much for one sitting, so now I have lunch for tomorrow.

Don't you live alone?  Have you had guests?  If not, whose mess could it be.  I'd be concerned if the kitchen was not a mess when I left and I live alone.   surprise

There is a more robust Robin that normally lives in Canada but comes down to this area in the winter, so it's no sign of Spring for us.  I was surprised the first year I saw Robins in my yard in January, but then I read up on them.  To me, the first sign is the return of the Baltimore Oreole, and I really know it's that time when the Northern Mocking Bird shows up, and it's cousing, the Gray Catbird (also a mocker, with a bit more raspy voice).

Do you have to use one map per object or can you apply UVs to multiple zones on an object, top of ball is needing a separate map or you use seams to unwrap it in one peice :)

...not anymore.  Had to move out as the owner of the home wanted to turn the apartment back into the main house again (it's a tax thing).  With how rents have gone totally out of control here, I no longer can afford my own place and was forced to move into a shared situation.  Not really happy about that.

Median rent here In Portland is 1,580$ for a 1 BR, which to keep the cost at 1/3 your monthly income, means you have to earn about 65,000$ a year. Don't have a degree so never will find a job that pays that much, especially as ageism has become a major issue in hiring (particularly in the tech sector which are the only jobs in the region that pay such salaries).

...beginning to lose my enthusiasm for 3D CG because of all this rubbish about encryption.. Still haven't installed 4,9 after reading about issues others have experienced. Didn't download any of the encrypted freebies. Also miffed that finally after waiting all these years there is a decent basic trench coat, however it is one of the encrypted products.  Seems this is happening to DO's with more regularity which makes paying for a PC membership less appealing.

Kind of makes me feel like it's Daz's version the "free" Win 10 deal.

I'm curious, KK. What programs do you want to port the meshes to, and why? This isn't a challenge, I don't use any programs that need the mesh, or don't have a bridge. Thanks.
