i dont even look at the products in the product categories any longer, just the buy-in requirements. If its one of the new bundles, thats as far as I bother. What happens though is I no longer qualify for any buy-in, like the product within the last 3 days, etc. . For the most part, the current buy-ins negate any actual savings.

I've just realized that the majority of the products on my wishlist that I'm strongly interested in were released in February or later, and so probably won't feature in the March Madness sale (unless it runs long). After last weekend's blowout, almost all the older products left in my list are in the "Eh, maybe" category. I won't feel compelled to buy them unless they go on sale at ridiculously-good prices.

    This is actually a relief.

Getting really tired of the buy-in deals.... and I had 28 tokens which were all removed... I dont think incentives work the way you think they work DAZ.

...with most of the new items for the buy in requirement being G9 and/or bundles doesn't leave very much to choose from.  There may be a set and some sort of prop or vehicle, but it really depends on if it is something I'll actually use particularly given how prices have increased as that means having to buy more to offset the cost of the qualifying item (or items if it requires "2+ New Releases"), particularly when it's for only  additional 5% - 10% (which then is subject to Daz Math).

This year is probably the least I ever spent during MM and even then, a couple of my purchases were from unrelated flash sales.

I also wondered about the requirement of "1$+ "New" items.  I haven't seen "1$" items here for years and that was when Platinum Club Items were discounted.

The main point of this is to exclude the freebies. A few years back, there were a bunch of "with any new item" sales where the weekly freebie triggered the discount, and apparently that wasn't the intent. $1 is just a convenient round amount to exclude those and include just about everything else.

Nice work DAZ... Double tokens after we in europe had gone to bed...

The MM theme this year is Stuff I Couldn't Care Less About. All I have picked up are some older wishlisted items & a few freebies. Granted, part of the reason is budget. But now, when I have a little extra cash, I don't see anything I really want/need at these price points.

I actually started this post a week or so ago & never finished it for some reason - but nothing has changed.  Except for the Token Gimmick & an orange banner for Aurora 9, another figure I am not interested in - because there is at least 1 preteen girl exactly like her in every generation since at least G2, probably by the same PA, and I am not interested in even 1 of them.

I thought it was to get at least $52 a year from Non DAZ+ members and in reality more than a DAZ+ yearly subscription in sales as very rarely is anything is ever under 1.99 and that usually only a couple weeks a year

One of today's new Daz+ items has a bigger discount for today only. Apparently that was the case last week too (from what Jack posted in the "Once thursday..." thread). However I totally missed it last week, so having a banner is not a bad idea IMO.

I think there was one a couple of days ago (during the weekend? my memory is not good), though I think it was a flash sale, not MM thing.

my DAZ store days are numbered. I've been saying that for awhile, but each time it comes closer to reality. Still spending, but not on new 9 stuff, but mainly older things at low price. Poser 13 will be released soon. It might be time for my migration back to the beginning.

  • Looks like we're spending the weekend with the orcs.

This could be good (lots of fantasy-related deals) or it could be frustrating (ie five straight days of "Buy Orc Bundle #3 to get...")

Not a fantasy person myself, so I guess I can give my credit card a break either way.

The same came to my mind when I looked at it, and based on what I threw in the cart, the discounts are not getting as good as they have been for the past week and a half.

Buy-in deals are completely out of the question for me if they require the purchase of bundles that do not interest me and/or are disproportionately expensive. I'm not going to spend $200 on some uninteresting stuff to get what interests me $10 cheaper.

I can't imagine that there are too many customers who don't notice this possible disparity. Or who buy so many discounted items that it's also worth buying an expensive but useless bundle. Buy-in deals really only make sense if there are one or more of the new items or bundles that I really like AND whose price is acceptable. The new Orc bundle, for example, has a very acceptable price for Daz+ members.

Yeah, the Orc bundle has a good price, but having looked at the offers benefitting from the purchase... The pickings are slim with only slightly better (if better at all) discounts than outside march madness, and that's with the 40% token discount.

Unless they come up with something significantly better later today, it's going to be no sale.

Doesn't help much when one isn't interested in G9 figures or/and has already G3/8 Orc(s) one could ever need wink Then it's even not interesting as a "buy-in" item (at least for me...)

over the course of MM so far, there has been very little that even made me want to buy the new stuff. I've put nothing in my wishlist. I discussed my feelings about the buy-ins more than enough. But as ny wife says, you just want to hear yourself talk.

Is Skye bluejaunte's first toon character? She bears a striking resemblance to 3DUniverse's ancient character of the same name.

Sigh... Was expecting to see something replace the lame flash sale, but they just extended it until DAZ midnight

I love orcs and am always happy to see more people's takes on orcs. Just to balance things out a in the thread a little bit :)

I'm not really in any need of orcs, but I think the skin of the orc character is interesting and quite special, with all these old scars and other marks - I haven't seen anything like this here ever. Then there's the versatile clothing set included, plus hairs and beards. So in my view, it's very good value for the money and can be used for all sorts of projects, not just orc-related. People are right though, the perks going along with the bundle are not great at all. Actually ended up buying just the bundle (and the free forest add-on thingie).

I like the orc bundle.  The orc bundle was nice.  The other stuff is blah and the 4 hour mega flash sale was pretty lame.  All they did was take a bunch of what has been on the march madness page for the last week or so and moved it to a flash sale.  I was hoping for some other flash grab bag options to be honest.  The last several days we had 2 or 3 grab bag sections ranging between $2.79 to $3.99.  Today we just have one and I am not interested in anything in that selection.

I appreciate the orc bundle being cheap, but it's G9, and the bonus item is an expansion for an environment that I haven't purchased. Not much appeal.

A choice of bonus item from a selection of high-value environments or G3/G8 items could have been interesting. Or something like "ALL Grab Bag items return for $2.99 with purchase of Grommok bundle".

Because G9 has failed to impress me, the value of associated offers needs to more-or-less negate the cost of the required G9 product.

Most G9 models that have been released not from the main Daz stuff I find meh.  I like a bunch of the daz 8/8.1 stuff like arcadia, senator greave, juan, Jinx Jones, Noska, etc. with their HD add ons much better then most of the current gen 9 stuff with exceptions.  The exceptions would primarily be the main Daz 9 stuff like Victoria 9, Michael 9, Freja 9, Joan 9, Minerva 9 etc.  When the models are done right, they look great.  But it seems a bunch of the PAs (no offence) have not figured out how to use the gen 9 model to make stuff look better than what they could with gen 8/8.1.  Josi 9 was awful for a gen 9.  It's like taking a super powerful motor and sticking it into a vehicle that you will then use a limitor to keep from being able to be utilized any more then what the weakest motor could handle.

I like the orc because it will give me more options and is a good price for getting into Gen 9.  We just need someone to release a conversion tool for taking our gen 8s and 8.1s with HD over to gen 9.  I think if that comes out it will speed out adoption of gen 9 as it will be easier to integrate assets previously purchased with new content.

a week ago there was a sale with 203 pages and no wishlist only option
But that was fixed later in the day
Now there's another one and while the stack to 50/60%  isn't great I have 8 tokens to use and have other stuff in the cart
But go through 203 pages with 120 items on each one? Naw
    ===
3 hours until change.. taking a nap .. hopefully I'll wake up in time to see if they fixed it.
    ----
so two hours later and it was working ... the wishlist only.
But is that from daz-deals pro, which I've never had or is Daz doing it (which is a very good idea)
    ---
When I logged back in I could look at only 6 pages instead of 203... that I did do.
    and bought a couple more.,

At least we can have the core character and bundle for about $10.17 on day 1.
