Why does it feel like this March Madness is just the exact same stuff going on sale over and over again?

I think maybe because..... It is LOL  laugh

The new tokens did make it a lot more interesting though, even those items that have been on sale over and over again, look a lot different with Extra 40% off smiley

But you have to spend $80 or more to get that 40% off.

You can get that with a gift card, without actually buying anything yet

Edit: If one buys a gift card for $111.12, one gets 10% discount (today) it costs $100 and with it one gets 10 tokens for 5% off.

I purchased a gift card for $90 and got no tokens. Gift cards don't give you tokens.

I bought a $500.00 gift card this morning and earned +45 tokens with that order. And later I purchased products using some of the tokens and still earned +2 and got the extra 40% discount so I had 73% and 76% discounts total. That total bill was $32.80. Both paid through PayPal as I reread the promo that it was through midnight 14 Mar 2023.

But when my prior orders on the 12th and 13th both paid for by PayPal were for $48.87 and $50.20. My 10 % in store credit was for the four orders was $9.17.

So it appears anything bought today didn't count. Yet it is not midnight in MDT.

The Pay It Forward promotion evidently nded yesterday. However, DAZ didn't remove the banner message until later. You could try filing a ticket with customer service pointin out that the message was still up at the time of your orders today; but I'm not sure how they will respond.

So you still get tokens for sales when you are using tokens? I wonder if this is intentional.

Tokens are given from the discounted price, nothing strange there. Whether ones cart costs $50 after one has used tokens to get it there or not, one still gets 5 tokens for it.

Yeah, expecting $19 and change, but they said by the end of March 14th their time.

Maybe the moderators should start asking already, what happens on Sunday... "Daz Tokens expire every Sunday at 23:59 MST"

If we do not want to waste the tokens by letting them expire, do we need to keep buying carts under $10 (which would give us yet another token)

  • TomhipTomhip Posts: 431

I am just hoping they will finaly put something interesting in the store. Every freaking sale now requires a buy in and yet all the potential buy-ins suck... The few items I liked I all got now since they were so far in between.... Seriously Still Mad need to include more items...

Things I am NOT interested in:

    - overpriced HDRI number 364545734,

    - fall-down-after-10-steps-out-of-saloon complex hairstyles,

    - yet another bland lingerie, that cannot even be sexy else it might be pulled out of store,

    - Strongwoman 9,

    - Non DAZ Genesis 9 model that looks worse than Genesis 2,

    - photoshop brushes,

I supose, if you don't want to end up with expired tokens, that you would have to do that. But the outlay will be the same, or potentially more if you don't have enough tokens to use on every small order.

Daz said that you would get the 10% back if purchasing a GC with Paypal. But, as stipulations say if you use the code at the same time it won't work, so the GC would need to be an order on its own, or with other products that don't have that stipulation.

I'm not sure what stipulations you are refering to. I used the coupon code yesterday and purchased the items with PayPal (instead of store credit) in order to get the store credit. Does it mean that I won't be getting any store credit for the order of individual items I already purchased with the coupon?

The GiftCard can't be in an order with the items using the PayForward code.

Thanks. Hopefully, that means that my earlier order of other items (no gift card) using  the payforward code and paying with PayPal is still eligible for the store credit ???

I don't see anything to say otherwise, so that should be the case - the query was just about an order to buy a GC (and I am slightly surprised even that matters, but perhaps they were just reiterating that GCs are not eilligible for the coupon at all).

I have sent a follow up query on this.

    Thanks, Richard.

I just received an additional adjustment to my store  credit equialent to 10% of my gift card purchase. So I am closing my ticket. Thanks DAZ for the quick correction.

Looks like 10% Paypal Store Credit is back now and baked into sale.

My approach is to chuck things I like the look of into the cart, see all the offers applied or not, add in a coupon code and store credit, is the resulting average price per item between $1.99 to $3.99 (at a push), No? Cart is empited again. Yes? Take a bit more out to see if I can bring the average down.

I'm grateful to be long in the tooth enough to have collected the bulk of it during the cheap years.

I was able to snag Cartoonized for G8F and G8M on sale, for a little over $20. I was considering getting JoeQuick's Cartoon Heroes for G9 instead, but I just can't justify investing in G9 until there is a lot more content I'd actually use, and quite frankly I just don't see that happening any time soon.

Likewise. Also I'll wait for PC speed / capacity to improve as well. It will happen though. I held off on Genesis until G8 had been out a while, then I went mad (march mad). ;)

Well I like PS brushes, but the focus on G9 products + buy-in requirements makes this MM not very interesting for me. I only made two purchase, one with the 85% discout coupon at the beginning of MM and one with the 30% off +10% store credit coupon when using paypal. But other than that, there really hasn't been anything that I considered remotely a great deal for me. I made sure I had enough store credit for MM, but at this rate I won't use my Daz+ coupons this month and I suspect my store credit will be spent during the next Daz+ Sale considering we are at the half way mark.

The tokens actually make the deals pretty decent with extra 40% of your basket and so far. The last category gives nice deals "Toon and Anime Items" with one new item you can pick some Pro bundles for ~~ £20.

Sale has been quite boring overall. Grab Bag especially - many of these items were $1.99 or $2.99 in past sales, so $3.99 or $4.99 with required buy-in just isn't going to open my wallet.

I'd have zoned out weeks back if not for Daz Horse 3. And with the focus returning to (unappealing) G9 content, it's starting to feel like "Why am I bothering to check the site again?"

Yesterday with everything in the store on sale, made a big dent on my credit... some 50+ items with ~85% off. Lots of stuff that usually doesn't get below $10-15, was in the $2-5 range (after all the stacked discounts and 8 tokens)

I experienced something like that too, but with a strange situation. Normally the new sales event starts at 8am and this time it was 7am in my timezone surprise ... I guess we need a (new) DAZ Clock?! frown
Another thing is the daylie change of nearly every product you put in a card. You cannot even "pick" and think about it long enough... I don't know you, but sometimes I realize how much time I spend in the different sections, try to find items of vendors I really like, since they create things that kind of match my criteria. For the "buy in" situation, it's like with the Daz+ New Release section. If there are enough Weekly Featured Items I like, that drop the amount of a New Release, I take it. But most of the time that does not happen, so I choose to not even buy anything. Except the new release will get me any kind of reduction in percentage for another sales event. (...like the get 10 or 20 % if you buy any new release over 1 $ or something like that)
So in the end, everything like the elven, horse, norse or cyberpunk stuff, I would only buy if these items gave me a great deal of advantage for the items I really want to buy and are way to expensive for me.

With the token I cannot predict if something drops as low in the future as I would find appropriate or appealing. I would have to be lucky to visit the shop like yesterday and would need the time to sort out what I can afford at the time. I also have to mix and match, to get the price as low as possible and make sure I don't overlook some kind of extra discount. Most of the time I even wait if there comes up an orange message box, another extra sale event in the evening, like with the flash sales. Everything just because sometimes something I already have in my card could make a difference for another upcomming flash event. Why buy multiple times, when you already choose one or the other "new release", "buy in" or something that may help to get the discount for such an spontaneous event? Most of the time I then buy the stuff the next morning.

With these token, if I would have for example bought a gift card yesterday, I would have brought down a price from 250 $ to 150 $. Daz would have sold the Elven Addon, Joan HD, Modern Horse and the Norse Addon for it. Alone these products would have made 40% in pricing of my card. And I don't know or don't understand that Daz does not realize that these "one day deals" make everything worse. You have to mix and match all over again and you realize that you have to be very lucky to visit the shop a specific day and get something nice and useful. You know you have to spend a lot of time looking if products you want to have or need are responding to the event situation and alone this fact prevents from doing so. The token situation does not change that and since I cannot predict the future discounts, they are pretty useless, as long as they only work seven days.
    Just an example:

Starting with a Gift Card 80$ = 8 Tokens (40% off in the future we can predict)

    Used for these:
    HighElf Addon        26,94 $ - 10,78 $(40%) = 16,16 $ Buy in
    Joan Gen9            23,51 $ -  9,40 $(40%) = 14,11 $ to get 20% of the buy in and this item
    Modern Horse         31,50 $ - 12,60 $(40%) = 18,90 $ because it gets nice and low
Norse Addon          20,16 $ -  8,06 $(40%) = 12,10 $ because it gets nice and low and fits my liking for the horse
    ---------------------------------------------
    ~ 61,27 $
= 6 Tokens more (gets 30% off - that most likely nobody needs and get lost! Sad!)

    Multi Map            8,98 -  3,59 =  5,39            c66 (must have in my oppinion)
    Fence me in          7.18 -  2,87 =  4,31            c66 (must have in my oppinion)
spanish rev chan     0.81 -  0,32 =  0,49            because it gets nice and low
not so ancient       0.97 -  0,39 =  0,58            because it gets nice and low
crystal shaders      3.49 -  1,40 =  2,09            because it gets nice and low
New York Mexican     7,87 -  3,15 =  4,72            Aurelio (nice to have for NY settings)
    Auto Paver          10,39 -  4,16 =  6,23            c66 (interesting in my oppinion)
    ---------------------------------------------
    ~ 23,81 $
= 2 Tokens more (gets 10% off - that most likely nobody needs and get lost! Sad!)

    UltraSceneryXT       20.23 - 8,09 = 12,14            Howie (must have in my oppinion)
    UltraScenery feat3   10.11 - 4,04 =  6,07            Howie (must have in my oppinion)
    ---------------------------------------------
    ~ 18,21 $
= 1 Tokens more (gets 5% off - that most likely nobody needs and get lost! Sad!)

Overall 1 Token more, since it would be in one card because of the fact that the percentages stack!
So there would be 10 Token only from these and at least 5 more, because the 250 $ card reduced to 150$.

So in the end, you could take all these products now and look what you would get for your money! (~250$)
The first 4 are still the same and maybe will stay like that for the weekend (but this is a big maybe here!). The rest of them will have the original pricing without any kind of discount on it. You don't get very far by adding those to you card and stay as low as 250$. The Buget you have is 150$! We should not forget that fact, because it makes the difference between doing the sweep through the shop or not! Only by using the vendors as a cecker I already see i don't even bother today mixing and matching. Why should I? It's a waste of time nobvody gets ever back in life! And the time consumption is here a big problem for me! It should save me time to buy something I would not have to create. I would even spend more money to save myself time, than wasting it in a shop searching hundrets of sides for discounts or create every thing I find interesting myself! That is a fact! The only problem is, I don't have this kind of money that match the 30% sale for the new realeses or 40-50% on a regular, nearly predictable base, when an artist becomes "mad" (...i guess he becomes mad since he/she does not make enough money with the original pricing?! laughcheeky)

Anyways... the token are nice, yes, but in the end everything breaks because of the ongoing chaos because of these ups and downs and mix and match situations, that will make most likely a customer become more frustrated than happy! And like i said very often. The goal should be to make cusomers happy! Right... makes sense, because he will come back again. Maybe it would be worth thinking about the pricing in general, since most people here do not spend this kind of money a product has! At least i cannot imagine one person that would buy a bundle for 300$ or one product für 15-35$?! (depending on what that would be)...

Now i would love to have everything back to yesterday! That would be sweet! (...I don't like green, greedy guys that promise me a lucky day, with 4 Items I don't want to have/need, a discount that does not even gets near to the day before and Token I will not get, by buying a gift card and could only use if something would be worth spending them on...)
    Just real thoughts!
And this is also no complaint! It's just facts to deal with and think about! I get that you want to sell something here, but there are better ways to do that on a more regular basis. I bet the 150$ on it, I wanted to spend...

Maybe I should ask the creators and vendors personally about a discount?! (...A real thought I have one or the other day, because of these experiences here... Like on a flea market, where I ask the seller of a product if my 5$ are okay... laugh )

Have a great (...and hopefully "luckier") day

Yeah, it was extreme... but also pretty nice to see. I could not even really "choose" which of the vendors I want to spend my money on. Outoftouch, C66, Aurelio, Howie ... it was pretty overwhelming! This is why I have decided to create this bigger post. To exxplain that "this kind of experience" a customer want's to have on every visit! Discounts are not the only point here, it's more likely about finding the things we "need", combining the discounts/sales/Token/cupon codes in a clear and straight, understandable manner, matching everything up to the buget we have (which alone takes a lot of time!) and want to spend and leave satisfied!
Imagine this would happen every cvisit you would be here!

Why the heck create an unreal pricing, dump it every now and then in comprehention to this pricing to cents and put cupon/token/gift card percentages and so on on it?! Because 1-5 of 100 people buy it for more?! That would not even make a difference, when the pricing would be way lower and nearly EVERYBODY would buy it! Sure, a buy in is a nice idea, a token too, a cupon code and reward system also! But maaaan, does nobody understand that this thing would run way wilder, when everybody thinks everything is more affordable?! The end of the song would be a regular base of income for a creator, the regular percentages for daz and so on... what is the deal here with "tricking" the customer to come back again and again, wasting time, trying the mix and matching, leaving unsatisfied?! I don't get it! Really...

DAZ/the US is already on Daylight saving time - as soon as your timezone switches, DAZ will be back to 'normal'!

To bad I did not know when the switch would be! But thank you for clearing it up... I was really perplexed

They really should have warned the rest of the world... I found out on Sunday, after having missed the change over time for the 3hour grab bags.

Does DAZ not yet understand that they are running a store with international clients - We do not know, when you are switching to DST or not. The natural assumption was, that you would do it the same time with us on the other side of the pond.
