I did my bit and have it in my runtime. The left and right hand drive options were a big feature for me.
When a new vehicle shows up I look at it with an eye to would I see it in a driveway, city street, highway/motorway or pulling into a drive-through for a hamburger. Shopping for a week's groceries, hauling a group of boys to the beach or their game, or loading up with DIY items are also a thought. Not sure if we have seen bicycle racks or those able to carry wheelchairs, with or without motors on the rear bumpers. And while I don't do baby renders, a baby carseat to fit the back seat would be nice. Or those doggie harnesses that somehow hook onto the car. Bugsy just balanced in the front passenger seat as my shotgun, or jumped down into the footwell.
Six figure luxury cars not my thing.
@memcneil70: Wow, those are nice extras i didn't even dare to think of, lol.
It might help sales if they showed this in the promos I passed on it because I didn't realise it had both. No I don't always bother to read the blurb.
That's a nice looking car
IKR! Glad I am not the only one who A. Appreciated Mr. Bobble's Doctor's coat, but also B. Wondered why we don't have one for G8 and 9? There was a good one for G2, but don't know if it would survive everything it would take to convert it upwards.
Of course the best solution would have been if Mr Bobble has been built off G8M (or G9), then all males would get his coat, and Mr Bobble would get a vastly greater wardrobe. I understand that some figures work better as standalone, but there are in fact more extreme toons available for the Genesis figures than Mr Bobble.
Surprised to see a straight-up Honda emblem on the hood - guaranteed that alone would garner the editorial license. That begs the question - if I edit that logo out and put in some other non-commercial logo would that negate the editorial license, or no? - shrug -
I agree with you about using the Genesis forms for widest compatibility of poses, hair, clothes, etc. But I bought Mr. Bobble shortly after it came out because I needed it for a project and it was a perfect match to the stock art image I was trying to replicate with my own custom twists - otherwise I may not have picked it up specifically for the reason of not being commonly compatible with the rest of my huge DAZ library. (Mr. Bobble is still a GREAT product in its own right!)
I remember the mods answering such a question with a clear no, because even i you successfully changed the prop, you still would have bought only an editorial license. So you would still have to buy a standard license to use it accordingly.
But there is no alternative license available - I guess that is partly where people are being so polarized against these. Well, I don't really have any skin in the game as I am not doing any commercial renders. But still, - speaking out of ignorance - just how hard would it be to offer an alternative version with standard license? I'll stop before this evolves into the age old, and overly done argument of "Why don't PA's providie flat-shoed alternates, SFW versions of outfits", etc etc.
All that said, I am buying the car in question because, $2.05, why not.
Yes, that is correct.
Hummmmmmm... Sean Connery has always been my heart throb at any age! I hope he doesn't mind if I 'grab'em whilst he's hot! lol
Yep, I already put Mr. Connery in my cart. I don't even normally buy characters, except when buying bundles.
Heads-up: He has an editorial license.
Hmm, that is a bummer. Not that I would use any commercial character for anything other than a gallery post, I just don't like the principle.
Mr Connery is a must-have for me, with licence or without. Great likeness! I don't really like AlFan's other characters, but this is a masterpiece.
Applause also for today's Golden Ticket! PW has given me a huge gift with this fantastic environment.
I don't blame them given the likeness
one reason I avoid celebrity lookalikes
If anyone buys the Unforgettable Fiber Hair I would appreciate being able to see how it looks on a figure other than Sean Connery.
Older male hair is pretty rare (and some of the few we have are massive on the poly count), so that interests me more than the character.
I can see why the figure needs an editorial licence, but it is less clear why the hair and expressions need that licence as well, as used on any other character, they will be pretty generic.
Even guys are jealous of him along with Sam Elliott.
I hope if they do a young version it is from the movie Darbie O'Gill and the Little People where he was 30 years old. I saw it as a seven year old.
As I was printing out the promo pages from what I purchased, I noticed that all three items for Unforgettable have the Editorial License, figure, hair and expressions. And while they have been made for this figure and I am not sure how they will work on other characters, I not sure if the editorial license will apply if you used any of them on another character, even in small elements blended with others?
Mary
The license terms will apply however they are used, using them with another character won't help (which is frustrating).
I am not sure that you can (or should be able to) copyright an otherwise common hair style. I remember the situation with that other hair, but that one was distinctive and recognizeable in regard to a particular character.
Thanks for the heads up on the editorial license for "Unforgetable". DAZ needs to put disclaimers on the initial SHOP page itself because I put those directly into my cart without looking at the individual product pages because I instantly fell in love with the products. I had to clear my cart. If I hadn't browsed the forums I would have been stuck with products I can't use. Even on the product page, the licensing is easy to miss, especially if you use the DAZ deals plugin which has a checkbox to hide the licensing. (I didn't know it was enabled on my install so I had to return a few products that had editorial licensing.) Better yet would be getting rid of this nightmare of licensing types and going back to only selling commercial use products.
Thanks for the heads up... I took him out of my cart :( I don't understand the license .. and from what I DO understand we can't even use him for contests here at Daz.... so I'll not grab him... the hair... or the expressions :( Sorry Sean!
Sam does nothing for me... but I melt when I hear Sean's voice (butterrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)
PW Cliff House | Daz 3D a nice one that is regular $60 and now Golden Ticket for $2.99? It even has a toilet with a set and lid. Just that toilet alone would be worth more than $2.99
Ha... I agree.. but I'm staying out of the toilet seat/lid conversation cause there's another whole thread with that topic being discussed... LOL
Sadly, after much consideration, I too am removing these items. I am currently not aiming to make money off this hobby. Frankly, at present, I'm buying too much stuff to even have time to make art for fun. OK, seriously, though, I am working on a book series, and what if I unthinkingly used one of those hair items in an illustration that sees the light of day? IRL, I cross paths with IP law enough to know that it's a beast, and I don't want any part of that.
Sad. The stuff looks beautiful.
