Do you actually need the merchant resource version? If not, if you just want to use it in yoru own (potentially commercial) renders then https://www.daz3d.com/the-foliagemaker is a third cheaper.
Many thanks, Richard!
I posted the merchant resource, so it wouldn't be overlooked because of me: once you bought the basic version, there is no upgrade option but you have to buy it "again". Personally, i only want to do 2D, so you are right, that would be the better choice for me, thanks again!
just in case it's not obvious
one would need the merchant resource plus the interactive license for a 3D game
I like it, espceially the instancing option. I'm always struggling to find climbing flowers to put on fences. Yes, that's a thing for me. The only issue I see that it has to be flower with leaves or it'll end up looking weird.
Well actually, if I understood correctly what you meant, you can grow a first network instancing only flowers, a second on top of it instancing leaves this time, a third instancing fruit (?) and more. So the networks can be incrementals. Or, if you prefer, you can build a single network instancing a group of props.
Not that I can see, and the non-resource version does include an Interactive License. The resource version is needed for use in creating 3D products that can themselves be used in renders, and potentially in games.
That is my interpretation too. The interactive license clearly ist the thing that allows you to use stuff in computer games (in principle). On occasion there may be extra things written for a product description or the readme, which may or may not apply legally - i am not sure if they are allowed to restrict the use of an interactive license on the one hand, on the other hand i am not sure what happens with those rubber-formulas of "doing something against assets being extracted" and so on, and so forth. The latter is a discussion, that i deem independent of mearchant resources, for the general case. I could imagine that you could start an argument over adding a whole texture resource with hundreds of textures 1:1 in a computer game, and e.g. start selling access to individual textures to players via in-game-transactions and so on, be it for cosmetic reasons. But let's assume normal use within a product that somehow makes sense on it's own perhaps even respecting basic restrictions like "use 100 textures in a single product max.".
but then why does it have an interactive license? (the MR)
Maybe some people who make and sell 3D products also make and sell 3D games?
The resource version is stand-alone - you don't need to buy the non-resource version too - so I suppose allowing you to get the additional licenses there is simpler than forcing you to buy the base product licenses separately.

I don't have the funds to start reinvesting in G9, yet I have to say that's a beautiful spacesuit design! I love all those ribbed area details!

@Astraffel, I thought I would add the main product, which I agree is an excellent outfit and well done. I bought both it and the texture set.
fefecoolyellow is effin' red hot! I love her outfits, and she always provides lots of morphs that are actually useful.
It's not really still a "new product" but still quite recent and I would like to thank Xivon for their XI Switzerland Village | Daz 3D I bought today finally. I don't know when I'll download it, hence the long wait until buying it, as I'm still saving to buy a bucnh of Cisco Firewall and other Cisco networking hardware, but I'll have it, and a lot of other new DAZ purchases, downloaded by the end of the year. It's this one I've been most happy to buy though of my new purchases.
I'm aiming for their new pirate ship next.
I LOVE eshas bangles, today's Golden Ticket. And I already have a cart full of their products...
Sorry for this stupid question, I have been working w daz for years but a lot of it is still a mystery, combine that w a hate for all things AI, so I want to know if this product: https://www.daz3d.com/the-foliagemaker has anything to do w ai, is it done w ai? the word from the product page that makes me wonder this is "generating", I hear generate and I think ai. This is NOT an accusation, not in ANY WAY, I think it's most likely not ai, but the word generate makes me need to ask so I know for sure if it is or not. If NO ai is used w this product - goes into my wishlist at once, it's a dream come true for a classic Tomb Raider fan artist like me, to cover temples or statues w those . But if it's with ai in some way then I will use vines from my 3d library, and I think there's a dforce such thing also, right? in the store? that drapes the vines? so if AI is used in that then I will have to learn to live without that amazing thing. Not meaning to accuse as I said, just paranoid about ai and have to make sure I don't support ai.
Hi tombraider4ever... I bought it and it is NOT ai... It uses a script in Daz that generates the vine and leaves... It's real 3d... You can turn your camera to any angle and there ARE branches. It's perfect for your idea of putting vines on temples... etc... practically anything can have vines with this script :)
Thank you so much for the reply, so very kind of you! I heard about that they can make 3d models w ai, or soon will be, so the word generate made me scared, as I have a zero tolerance rule, for myself, to not use it or suppor it. So this is not ai then? That makes me so happy to hear, as it's a dream come true, load in a pillar or a statue or both, have tons of stuff in my 3d library, then cover it w those vines at a few cl or moving dials, so amazing! And the thing for using a model I have, like a rose or something, and use it to cover something w roses, perfect for Valentines day, that also happens to be Lara Croft's birthday, so I can make a beautiful artw using this, Thank you so much for the reply!
my pleasure.. and yes... just as you said... you can put vines on pillars and such... you will see the vines climb up the piller as it generates... it's pretty cool... The PAs we have here at Daz are constantly blowing my mind at the things they come up with... lol. Be careful... watching the vines climb up is mezmerizing and addicting... lol. Have fun!!!
And for the foliage maker [which is lots of fun] there is also the free Rose in the commercial thread:

This is terribly late, but I stumbled upon https://www.daz3d.com/betty-baby-travel and had to think of your "car wishlist" lol. So that suggestion is already available.
LOL you do realise Lara Croft and Tomb Raider are the Intellectual Property of CDE Enrertainment
Tomb Raider, known as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider from 2001 to 2008, is a media franchise that originated with an action-adventure video game series created by British video game developer Core Design. The franchise is currently owned by CDE Entertainment; it was formerly owned by Eidos Interactive, then by Square Enix Europe after Square Enix's acquisition of Eidos in 2009 until Embracer Group purchased the intellectual property alongside Eidos in 2022.
source Wikipedia
not yours, they could if so inclined take legal action over fan art and win, just don't bother so far
and you are worried about AI which may or may not use data trained on other sources or the developers own research and sources
and I am NOT talking about large language models or art generation programs either just coding and processes that use various ways to learn from running simulations etc
you are using one right now, its called a computer
generating means producing, turbines produce electricity and we call them generators, I can generate a cake from flour, eggs, bicarbonate of soda, cream or tartar and sugar
I wish people if they are going to take a stance for or against an issue would at least have some idea what it is they are objecting to
Thank you so much for reply . I will love to use that model, I'm sure of it .
Thank you so much!
https://www.daz3d.com/proteus-level-set-morphing
https://www.daz3d.com/simtenero-shape-reprojector
Proteus Level Set Morphing looks interesting, but I wonder if it offers something that Shape Reprojector doesn't already have.
If someone is willing to do a comparative review, that would be really interesting and appreciated!
who would know about the Simtenero product because nobody shares experiences, I have been asking for years, so many say they own it and don't use it
my conclusion is I didn't even buy it at 95% off
Alberto's product I possibly will but a bit overspent right now, still thinking if I can and still eat
Shape Reprojector promises more detailed results, but it's a nightmare to use and I wouldn't recommend it. I can't speak to Proteus.
Yikes! I've bought Shape Reprojector recently but I'll have to try it while I can still return it then
I'll share my experiences here but I won't be able to compare it to Proteus, because I generally don't buy items during their initial offering.
I found out I have Shape Reprojector... never played with it before... but it's pretty cool. I did notice.. the larger the item to 'shape' the longer it takes... I have a pretty fast computer and if I wanted to shape the whole body of Genesis it took 5+ minutes... so patience is needed... but the head I did below took less than 30seconds. Thank you for reminding me that I had it! lol
