Nice! I love these night scenes! But, they look overdressed for that diner. Maybe that's how they dressed in the 50s, though.

Actually, that represents the late 1940's, both are detectives and are dressed for the part.
As a kid I remember seeing people that still drssed for dinner
My dad's Uncle Frank and Aunt Lucey were that way : Lunch sport coat or suit, tie was optional at home but not if you were eating out Dinner a Suit coat and tie not a sport coat were mandatory

These days, things are different of course, even us older folks go out dressed down somewhat, unless the dinner is supposed to be formal, we simply don't bother to get gussied up any longer!
My standard mode of dress is tee shirt and jeans. Long-sleeved tee in winter. I'll put on a button up and Dockers or similar for some events, and suit up for real formal events, like funerals, weddings, etc. Or if we're going to a restaurant that requires formal dress.
