Yeah, that sometimes happens with the GTA conversions, and since this one was done in Iray, I imagine if I had done it in 3dl, it the textures would have shown up better!

..yeah you have to really play around with the bump, normal, and displacement channels a lot.  I can understand why for older sets and props in the Daz store, some PAs release Iray material sets.  They do take a lot of the bother out of manually fussing with these.

Probably the more popular items anyway, some of the older cars and stuff it isn't so easy, some of the older Dudley items are particularly bad when it comes to triangles missing on the body panels and stuff as well, they just won't come out very well in anything newer than DS3.

Any comment on the "new" old VW bug?  It strikes me as a bit expensive given just opening doors and turning wheels.

I had a '63 that I bought in '73 as my first car..  $100.  I sold it a year later for $100.  Its starter was going so, given it's 6 volt electrical system, I always parked on hills.

Yes, I bought it ... with the sales discount. Having fun with it. It's a great little model. Love the colour options! I like the older bug model chosen. I think it's cool.

Nice ones - love the garage scene!  What set is that?

That's First Bastions Gas Station set. The garage is on the back of the station.

Thta's because the one you saw is a 1967...the split window is a 1963.

I did this one a while back. Wasn't sure what car I used as I got it from a site now gone. I later realized it was a 1937 Buick. I used an HDRI on the enviro sphere for the background. I think this render turned out very realistic. I got lucky...haha.

I have the same model, I like the red wheels on the real car, I may just do the same to my N7 model!

I would have assumed it to be a GM product of the era of course, 37 Buick looks good, too bad it isn't available at this time, however, it just might be somewhere, we just haven't found it yet!

That looks like the Dreamland Models model, I have that one as well, just don't use his cars too much since they are basic lo-poly models, but when doing a large scene, they work very well.
