    Love it!

Hehe, that was another request by Byrdie. Boyd knows Owen is quite partial to cowboys so it seemed a natural costume for him to wear.

I really love those spooky lights  hdris. Plus the light from those new pumpkins in the store cast great interesting light and shadows. The background is an old cyclorama with another background  thrown in. I wanted it to catch the color of the hdri

Love it. Spooky and fun all at the same time, that's Halloween to me. yes

I am cogitating abut the hayride and bbq one’s. I need a good hay prop. I figured they could be general fall renders. I also want to reprise my thanksgiving render from last year. None of the turkeys look real and I really wanted to do one with an uncooked turkey and  pumpkin pie. Sadly no pies!

im glad you like the boys and their story. I hope to get it written someday or at least have a decent graphic version.

There is a pretty good deal on Sean for Michael 8 over at rendo. He's a complete look alike for Sam Winchester, but comes with bodyhair which is pretty useful, including sideburns, beard, and eyebrows chest hair, and elements hair. Why male figures here are so bare, I have no idea... But its 50 percent off right now. Michael 8 is a requirement.

  • Okay fall is here and only 9 weeks until Christmas so I Want to try to fill the thread with seasonal images .If anyone has a favorite fall activity they'd like to see the boys engage in I'm all for any suggestions. I may try making a turkey again this year.... But my last one was a little funky.....

    Skiiing :D

Hmmm. I've always really wanted to do a ski scene but there is a real lack of good skis... I've found some for V4, but I think that would be interesting, specifically because I'm not sure Owen or Boyd has ever skied before, Boyd because he hasn't had a body since he was 7, and Owen because he's from Brooklyn and far from the slopes... Hmmm......

Owen is being distracting while Boyd attempts to work on his tablet.

Well, they do say "all work and no play" ...  wink

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,647

Yes! It boggles the mind what Boyd is working on in bed but it certainly must be important. Probably a mission brief...

I really like these, really captures the Fall spirit! The background color on the second one is really neat, and the little sprinkles remind me of embers from fire. A great choice!

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,647

The background on the second one is an image added to a cyclorama. The majority of the color is from the spooky lights. Glad you like it.

This was a request for a skiing scene. I couldn't find skis anywhere, but I tried! Anyway I had alrady kitbashed whatever cold weather clothing I could find that fit Boyd and Owen which is sadly very little. I even tried to d-force the silly scarf, but nope. Anyway... I also am testing out a new skin on Boyd, which is less old. So here you go, I called it Early Snow

I have come to the conclusion that one thing I think that's missing from iray renders is the odd lack of representation of the color yellow. I mean real yeallow not orange, or orange gold or sepia. Even in looking in the galleries images seem to lack this color except with the representation of flame. I'm not sure why. I honestly think its the lighting... Lights are making yellow greenish or reddish, and its very disconcerting now that I've noticed it.

Thanks! I love some of these. You've got to admit though, true yellow, and not greenish yellow isn't common in the gallery. Seems like maybe this is a color that gets 'tinted' a lot by the lights people use.

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,887

Some of those are Schoolbus Yellow (which is orange-yellow.That barrel he's sitting on. The chair in the atrium, the woman's outfit, etc. ) And some of those cast the greenish yellow tint.  Look at the umbrella/ yellow rain jacket one, and that car. But my heavens, you really put some effort in on that!

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,647

I still think yellow is problematic in Iray renders. It’s just not rendering true yellow... or people are not getting proper yellow too often. It was far easier to get yellow at least for me when using 3dl.

  • Owen and Boyd workout together. I thought this pose was really kind of cute in the personal trainer set..... But I admit getting an interesting angle was a challenge.

I also ran into issues with the fact that a lot of ground in sets looks really kind of bad. I think Beachpod has one of the best sandy grounds I've ran into. And bonus! It's inexpensive.

This hightlights a bit of the size difference between Owen and Boyd. Owen, is by no means small, he's tall for a normal human. but Boyd is bio-engineered and genetically engineered bigger and stronger than the average person.

I like how this turned out. Great camera angle.

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,647

Thanks! That proved to be somewhat of a challenge because of the angle. Straight-on they just didn't look good. Too similar. .

Here's my first attempt at dforce. I dforced 2 pairs of underwear, the blue knit quit and the socks. The box of laundry is part of the laundry set.

I did attempt to dforce the pillows and the mattress but no love. The socks were a pair so no luck separating them.

I think your snow/skiing scene is one of my faves.  Nice work!

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,647

Glad you liked it! I think Owen's eyes were a bit too green, but I was happy with it anyway.

I decided to try a different eye preset since his eye color is rarely discernable. Boy howdy were those eyes green!

Here's a new one. This was a 3delight environment so I took the ceiling off and replaced it with these sci-fi emissions lighting. I wil try a bloom on the scene tonight, but emissive lighting takes a whack out of my machine.

You are more than welcome Serene Knight, I have several characters of my own and it is hard to tell a story that you want to tell and keep people interested without comprimising what you want to do. Keep up the amazing work and I am glad I could brighten your day.
