Topaz labs  just released Topaz Impressions 2 for photoshop. This is an excellent set of filters you can use to layer in your images for different painterly effects. They have a 30 day trial if you want to check it out on their site.  IM me your remail address if you would like a coupon.

Okay, here is my latest one. Boyd is wearing War Dog Remastered. If you don't own this product you should. Great attention to detail, and weapondry. Nicely done. Oh, the gun is from the Army set, and for some reason I decided to use the sci-fi grenade from the greanade pack instead of one of the really great ones included in the set.

The look on his face promises very bad things for anyone who gets in his way.  and says he is going to enjoy it too lol!

Thanks ice dragon art! Yes Boyd can be ruthless when he has to be. I think that image turned out well. :-)

It did! Love the lighting. The details are very crisp, noticed the glove right away. Excellent!

Okay here is my render of Owen (Sarge) with the new Oh My brows product. I think it really looks good, especially dialed in at small amounts

This is a set recently released from Runtime DNA. It is basically a poser style series of props for Gen 4 females. Mats are poser, but they can be recolored.

You can however recolor this with Iray-friendly textures which as Novica says I'm putzing around with.  The set comes in pieces which must be assembled and parented. I think this could use a makeover for gen3- I'm sure it would be a hit.

Metallic shaders can be used to recolor existing mats. I'm messing around with it for a future scene.

Here is Sarge's most recent image. It is actually the only one of my images yet to make it to Instagram. LOL. Anyway. Enjoy it. This image does not have the new eyebrows.

Thanks! That seems to be everyone's favorite image of mine as it has top billing in my gallery. I like it to. Particularly like the muzzle blast which is hard to do on a good day. =-)

Wow, I've been missing out not coming to the Art Studio. I have no idea why I haven't been here before. Probably because I was hanging out on deviantArt a lot. You have some very impressive sci-fi renders here. I particularly liked The Time Assassin fighting the skeletons (reanimated skeletons have always held a fascination for me). I also really liked the above Boyd/War Dog image - amazing quality.

Thanks Jim. I'm getting better at Iray I think... I do like the one with the skeletons a lot too. It is my favorite. I spent a lot of time putting htose little lights inside the skulls of those skeletons. I think I may have to try a skeleton render in iray as that was done in 3delight. =-)

I like bath scenes for some reason and wanted to try out that new foam suit at Rendo by powerage. It is designed for Genesis 3 female but fits pretty well to the male. The only thing I didn't care for is at times it cast a bit of a shadow which looked funky for foam. Overall though I thought it turned out well. =-)

Novica pointed out how nicely the sweater and pants were from H&C Coat outfit from Genesis 3 males was. I have to agree, I think the sweater in particular looks nice. The other sweater and pants Boyd is wearing is from the Casual Winter set. Which I also quite like. Have to have something to wear when not in uniform.

I think this is the first time I've posted here.  I usually just lurk.  I had to say that I really liked the sudsy image up above!  Very nice!

Here's my new image. I wanted to try out that Gear Cybernet on the doctor and some of my medical props

""The state of medicine has come a long way, my friend. Don't worry, Mon, I've hardly ever lost a patient... Well, there was that *ONE* time... Oh... Dear...Sorry just a small joke! But .... Don't worry...I'm a fully licensed doctor AND malpractice attorney. So *IF* I cannot cure you I CAN help you SUE."

That bot helping the doctor is so adorable!!!!!

I've got to check out that foam suit. Even the name of it sounds like fun! I like the way it turned out.

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,647

I think you'll like the foam set. I thought it was fun. Yeah I think those bots were supposed to be bad guys but I think shrunk down to 5 percent they make great robot assistants.

Here's my latest one. I really wanted to work on the surfaces for those headlights, but either they didn't have a surface setting, or my cold prevents me from finding which one it is.

Sarge helps evacuate a city, and listens to a civilian complaint.

    Hope you feel better quickly!

That's a great scene. The body language of the civilian is spot on. I love the grocery cart and the all the stuff piled into it, it really helps make the scene authentic.  Did that come with the scene?

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,647

Thanks. Yes, the set came with a fully loaded grocery cart here: http://www.daz3d.com/trash-stash

I tend to always try to add junk and trash in my scenes. I find cities way too bare for my tastes, so I buy any kind of rubble or trash stuff I can find to liven the place up a bit
