I'm interested in making a displacement map for Eva's arm, to hide the juncture of where the tentacles go into the forearms, with the appropriate looking sheaths (they should go up the arm somewhat. Does anyone have any advice? I've never used a displacement map for this before. I usually use a primative, parented to the tentacle to look like skin and photoshop, but thought I'd try something different this generation.
I appreciate the advice.
This is a WIP. Thanks.
Here we'll just try that photoshopped. Now back to messing around with the displacement map!
The darker water looks better. Coming right along!
Thanks, Serene.
Really interesting Cybernetic eye prop released at yur digital. It needs to be shaded to work with DAZ studio, but I love the fact that it has so many mat zones. Wish there were more items like this sold here... Anyway, if you have Arcadia Rising you have some great glass shaders to use with the lens... I also used some of the supersuit heavy hitters shaders and some I made from bot for genesis.
I think that's your best work EVER. it!
Thanks Novica. It is a fabulous prop. Like it a lot!
Okay, here is my first, and hopefully not my last Scott 6 render. Both are wearing the fancy new Espinonage outfit. I really like that set. =-)
You and your bots! You're the Bot Queen- they are always so well integrated into your scenes. The blue on the thighs coming from our left (with the source unseen) is really a nice touch.
Thanks Novica! Here's another Scott Render. This time using light Dome Pro.
You keep upping the wow factor You got the perfect amount of smoke propulsion!
Here we have another Lightdome render with Scott. This is my first render using the Alphabase model. I think it turned out well. Oh, and this is a nice M4 fight set brought over to G2Male using the Converter for G2female/genesis recently released. All I had to fix was a thumb.
I redid it slightly less HAZY.
Okay, realized I hadn't rendered the Major Upgrade outfit yet. This is a nice set. I'm going to rework the image though. Just noticed something I want to fix. Will repost tomorrow.
Here we are Major Upgrade images as promised.
Here's my first one. I sort of like the action, but wasn't fully happy with the muzzle blasts. Plus the guns seemed too black. But I liked the color in this one. White on white is sor tof a challenge to pull off.
WOW WOW WOW- that first one looks like an official movie poster! And the blue and the white in the second one does set the man out a distance, it looks nicely placed in the foreground.
Here is Blue & Red.. =-)
Well, maybe not. Looks like my uploading of images is not working... I'll try again later. =-)
Here are the new sets released at Xurge 3d- for Michael 3/v3 figures. They look nice, would be great for background characters.
It is interesting how nice and detailed even these generation 3 outfits are. wish we had stuff like this for Gen7. =-)
Speaking of Gen 3, if anyone can recommend some less expesive V3 skins, I'd appreciate it. I'd love to have a few more skins for the ladies.
Okay, here is Blue & Red. Tried to upload them earlier, but no luck! =-)
Ooh, the two men compliment each other nicely. I like the sharper, chiseled jaw on the right one, with the scruff- and the one on the left is a totally different type. Nicely done!
Wish there was more sci-fi stuff for you in the PA sale. So far, not much in that particular theme.
Freakin awesome !!
@Awesomefb thanks!
@Novica:
I haven't bought much. The PA sale seems mostly focused on content I don't need. Female lingerie, hair, sexy poses, props, and locations that I don't need. =-/
I did pick up:
Digivault's Destroyed mall
Amadis for Gen 2 Male (back catalog)
Savage Hunter
Alien Collector Flesh Mech.
Absolutely great image! very dynamic, good composition. Nice F/x too
I think she should be a promo artist. Hers are as good as / better than some stuff I've seen in main promos. If that image were placed in the promo art thread, you wouldn't think it wasn't a promo artist! I can also see that image on the opening page of DAZ in the rotating art.
Thanks Novica and FirstBastion for the nice comments. =-)
Okay, I was in the mood to do some kitbashing and to mess around with some of my new content. The top half of the armored outfit is Major Tom's torso protection with a stunning amount of mat zones 12 to be exact. And it shows. Very fun to re-color and nice piece of work. I layered that over the Tau Ceti Overseer outfit for Gen 2 female. I really like those alien looking boots, especially recolored with something bright and shiny.
That's a lot of material zones! It's funny that you kitbashed a male and female outfit together- wouldn't know it unless you mentioned it. Those boots are funky. It's good to see something different.
Agreed. I think those boots are really cool and alien. Never really noticed them before. Think it would neat especially for a nautical or airborne outfit whrere they can be displayed against a sky.The only uniquely and obvious female part of Tau Ceti is the chest piece. No getting around that as looking somewhat chesty. But it layers nicely under Major Tom's torso piece which is flat as a pancake. So thought it worked.
Wow! Truly captivating. It's like a still from a movie, very epic and cinematic.
I've been a big fan of your work and have followed this thread for a long-time, you've REALLY done an excellent job with this one.
I've been kit-bashing armour suits the past few months as well, and have bought a lot of the armour products here at the Daz shop. I don't have this one though.
If you had to pick 1, What's your favorite armour? For any generation figure.
Thanks Dinovault. People seem to like that image. I'm glad. I spent some time trying to get those textures and background to pop.
Hmm... Favorite Armor? There are so many and I have a lot of them from light to heavy. That's tough to decide. I think I favor the heavy armor though. So here is my lsit:
Light armor: Flexxsuit G2M- this is a sure-fire renderer and it is made for G2M. That's by Dariofish.
Heavy Armor: Coalition Rapier/Katana, Manga Anime battlesuit, AR wrath marines (that helmet is terrific).
I tend to use the same armor on females as the guys. I don't tend to use sexy armor for ladies, but I have rendered it and I buy it, I just like the more tough looking unisex look.
Major Cache is a nice base although showing its age and didn't make my top list, but Uzilite makes great weapons. Even his gen 3 stuff looks better than stuff made for Gen 6.
There are a few sets and expansions I don't have. Although I would like to, so I haven't by all means 'tried them all' I think the store would benefit from some serious categorization with suits like Major Cache and all its expansions easily searchable.
Sedition Soldier is nice too. Which reminds me I haven't rendered the female version.
Midnight stories gets my vote for sexy armor with Arcadia Rising which not only is a well-done outfit but includes shaders which I use quite often..
