Yes, the script included with Oso Alien Scenery is a great add on. It allows to replace objects in UltraScenery, after it has been created/generated.
i looked at the blue and was through ... will go back and check it out
Thanks for the tip! I will check it out.
i installed the upodate but now the main folder is gone., it is not in environments iin smart content, nor anywhere else i searched. All the modules are listed, although most are in lost and found.
somthing wonky. i found the product ion content library, updated metadata and it now appears in smart content. I found 8 of the modules listed under materials. 4 of them stated they needed install, which I did. Then, I redid updaye metadata on one of them, and it did but also had the install icon again. this happens which each oroduct...
Then i just found 9 products listed under Props
2 are listed under Environments
The main program used to be under Environments but is no longer there.. its in utilities
Why does the scenery load so high? This might have been asked somewhere, sorry.
Looking forward to a response too. Happens to me a lot with USC.
I completely agree. I hope posting about it here will bring it to the attention of UltraScenery fans that have been clamoring for just such a capability.
Have you tried with the new version? I had an update of UltraScenery in my DIM downloads today. Just checking what have changed
In the Content Library tab, check in the Landscapes folder under Environments. It's where it has always been for me, and still is.
Not fixed in the update, according to daveso's recent test.
I think it has something to do with the Max Altitude setting. This may be more obvious when using a feature with water. I put together a scene with a stream, setting the Max Altitude to 10. The area of the stream was below the "floor". The top of the water object was right at the "floor". And the area around the stream had some pretty steep terrain.
To test that theory, I rebuilt the same scene with the only change being the Max Altitude set to 1. I ended up with a rather flat terrain, but the area of the stream is still below the "floor" and the top of the water object is still right at the "floor". (The stream appears to be 3-4 times wider and moving up the track, too. Something to keep in mind if you need a flooded scene!)
Because the water level is fixed at y = 0 so anything that is not under water is going to be higher than that.
As I work with the Alienator script (in the Oso3D Alien Scenery product) I'm finding more bugs/limitations in use with UltraScenery. I'm still hoping Totte will be able to fix them. Follow the the commercial thread for the product to keep up with the troubles I'm reporting and the fixes that get implemented.
Thanks .... simple :})
I've updated to v1.3 of US and noticed a change in the way it works. If you use the scene name for example "US Noise, Bridge 1, Grassland 1, Clear Stream" and build a new scene everything is fine. But if you rebuild that scene and change the scene name to "US Noise, Bridge 1, Grassland 2, Clear Stream" because you want to use the "Grassland 2" ecology instead of "Grassland 1" ecology, the rebuilt scene will contain "Grassland 2" ecology but the top level scene name will still say "Grassland 1". In previous versions of US you cleared everything and started as if you had nothing when rebuilding an existing scene.
If it rebuilds correctly with the ecology you switched to, can't you just change the name in the Scene tab once it's done?
Sure, but you didn't have to before and that's just another step to remember before you save the scene.
Australia expansion released and in my cart, waiting for prices to settle.
+1
+1 (!!!!!)
Bought and downloaded. The bundle can be found here:

Cheers,
Alex.
the Aussie plants look nice but do you need Ultrascenery to use them?
I’ll pass on this until the price comes down to my striking point. Too much for some Austrilian shrubs and trees.
No, you do not need Ultrascenery to use the two plant sets but it does make things a great deal easier.
Check out the very first post in this thread.
Cheers,
Alex.
yeah I use Ultrascatter if I use DAZ studio but I was actually thinking Carrara Octane plugin might handle them better than Howie's Arborerum Carrara plants
I have to substitue Carrara plants in Howie's Carrara scenes with mesh ones to fit it on my card anyway, Carrara trees are hidiously highpoly
I too will need to wait though as I already spent too much and am taking a sabbatical from 3D spending after the PC+ sale
$27.97 for 3 products, pretty good price if you ask me.
Yeah, this was an instant buy. Some of the previews on this are hard to tell they're not real life.
I've just updated my tame copy of Excel with the latest figures, for the Australia ecologies, and there are now well over 25,000 possible combinations of ecology, water texture and landscape feature. And this is before you add Alienator script transformations, @barbult's json file hacks, noise tweaks and vegetation masks!
Cheers,
Alex.
$21 + some change if you throw in a new item ... PC+ cheap item like 2.79 ... save a bit anyway.
