Ditto here. It doesn't install and the current version remains intact. Looked at the ZIP file & it's corrupted. I'm sure they'll get it sorted soon.
I don't install beta builds though. The DS I installed yesterday was the general release 4.12.1.117. "Public Build" is unchecked in DIM; "Publishing" and "Private" builds are checked. About DS doesn't say beta either. Please tell me I didn't install the beta.
The splash and about screens will tell you what you installed.
They say 4.12.1.117 (64-bit).
Another update? There was one (v1.0.2) dated 04-24 which I installed a couple of days ago with no problems.
I've a problem with the update. I've tried to download it twice (manual download) and it's failed to decompress both times. Neither UnStuffIt nor The UnArchiver are able to decompress it either.
The UnArchiver does manage to extract a data folder, but that's all. From what I was reading in the thread, there is more to the update than just the data folder. Plus, this means that I am no longer able to download a functioning archive of the product at all.
I'm submitting a ticket, but thought that a heads-up here was appropriate.
Yes. I now see that 4.12.1 has been released, and without the usual fanfare! The release and the current beta are the same. And the release also has files dated 4/28/2020, so again, not related.
I submitted a ticket, as well. I feel sorry for TS right now. I suspect they are getting inundated with tickets on this. UltraScenery is a very popular product!
Apparently DAZ has fixed it and the update should be live in 30 mins or so.
I should have checked the thread again before downloading, but no harm to my installed file. I acutally went through the complete thread yesterday, desperately trying to find if the I just imagined cameras in the initial program. I am still confused. But barbult made a reference to using Canary's camera package which I have, so I was going to try that. But still, I was sure there were cameras. Covid-19 is eating my brain.
@L'Adair thank you for the report to TS. I won't file one as well to give them a break and just wait for a fix to appear. I badger them enough.

Hi, I'm not sure what's going on with a new update as I haven't submitted anything new recently. Guessing it's some Daz internal stuff.
Just refreshed DIM, and downloaded manually, but nothing has changed since the 24th. I think it was because the file in the DAZ repository got changed and DIM thought it was an update.
I scaled the UltraScene water and discovered that it made the ripples spaced further apart and kind of smoothed out. I increased the ripple strength, but that wave period of the ripples was still much larger than before I scaled the water. At first I scaled it as huge as the big ocean and the ripples looked completely flat. So I scaled it by 400% and then used UltraScatterPro to scatter a matrix of instances of the water to become the "ocean". I decided I liked the spread out ripples OK, so this worked out for me. I put a Coast Guard helicopter on the ocean, just because I bought it a couple days ago and wanted to use it.
I was really impressed with your image when I saw it and then got distracted and didn't comment. I like that meandering stream.
Ah interesting - I assumed the ripples wouldn't scale with the prop but I guess it does. I actually generate the mesh in the script and can obviously set it to any size and doing it that way it didn't seem to affect the ripple scaling but doing it through the transforms does.
Someone tell me what is going on with my rocks? I noticed it in another scene I did which I had 2 UltraScenes in so I created a new to test it and its doing the same thing. This one is built off of Woodland 4 the previous Woodland 5/Harpwood Trail 4. Texture is USC_River_Stone_1_2048_diffuse.jpg
I think it is the normal map. If you turn that off, I believe the patchwork color will go away. I don't know if Howie Farkes could fix that normal map or not.
That fixed it Thanks @barbult!
2 UltraScenes mixed Harpwood Trail 4 and Woodlands 5 (shoulda done one of the ones with green trees wasn't thinking)
Beautiful!
Very nice!
With failures to think looking that good, all I can say is 'Keep up the good work'.
Sent my heron fishing again in the Harpwood 4 ecosystem.
River 1 and Harpwood 2, with one of Herschel Hoffmeyer's ravager drones to provide some extra excitement.
Cheers,
Alex.
That is so beautiful!
(I very recently picked up several long-legged birds from the Hive, specifically to use with Ultrascenery. I've been busy with something else and haven't had a chance to play, but I can see from your image, it was money well spent.)
I haven't had much time to render in the past few months, however, here is my contribution to the thread for UltraScenery. I absolutely love this ecosystem. The gallery view has more information about what I used in the render.

Thanks! I have quite a lot of the bird sets from when they were sold here - I recently got them added to my account over there so I could get the updates to .duf and Iray for all the water birds, which makes them much easier to use.
A couple more pics with more summery trees:
Hello! I apologize if this is a known issue discussed earlier in the thread, but I keep running into it and then forgetting to ask. I used to be able to load a couple of the landscape types, but after installing the expansion I get a script error every time and nothing loads. I've attached the log file from my past few attempts.
I see several references to C:/Users/[Username]/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Daz Connect Library/data/cloud/1_67835/environments/landscapes/ultrascenery/ultrascenecreator.dse in the txt file. Did you install UltraScenery using Daz Connect?
There are known issues with scripts and Daz Connect. If you used Daz Connect to install either UltraScenery product, I recommend you uninstall with Daz Connect first, and then reinstall with DIM. (Or install manually.) You will run into more issues if you don't uninstall whichever script was installed with Daz Connect before installing with DIM.
Oh weird, I didn't even notice that. o.Oa I usually use DIM exclusively.
I reinstalled using the process you suggested, but unfortunately I'm still getting the same error.
Like several others, for some reason I had isssues getting UltraScenery to install. I tried multiple times installing then uninstalling through both Connect and Install Manager and finally it worked. It was worth it. I think this may be one of my new favorite products. I've attached one of my first trial renders. With the two figures it took a few hours to render on my hokey pokey system but worth the results.
If you uninstalled via Connect and then reinstalled via DIM, and you're still getting those errors, it's time to call in the big guns. I'm one byte above clueless when it comes to Daz scripts, so maybe we can get @HowieFarkes's attention. He'll probably have the answers you need.
