Worried Kinda Complaint: Getting back into Daz and torn over 4.2 or 3.0 deluxe. I'm use to one, but not the other. Also I worry that all my old content wont work with the newest Daz.

Complaint 2: I think all the script and cookie blocking addons I have for my browser, is making me overly paranoid. >_<</p>

...I've been using 4.5/4.6. for a while now and most, if not all of my older content works fine save for some plugins that were never updated like LDP/LDP2.

The advantage with 4.6 is Genesis. which is more flexible than the older generation figures as with the right content, you can freely mix aspects of different characters (including toon characters) together as well as cross fit clothing without needing a third party conversion tool. With the GenX plugin you can also load morphs from older generation characters and the legacy body shapes allow you to fit a wider variety of clothing (like AIko3, David3, Steph4, etc.).

If you were having trouble signing in it may not be your browser as Magento has been a pain yesterday and today. Yesterday I couldn't sign into the store site as it kept sending me to my account page after I signed in and after I clicked the "Shop" tab to go back to the store, I was logged out again.

I was wondering what was going on. O_O

I was nervous that something was up with my computer, or why Magnito was preventing me from accessing the site, instead of fighting the Xmen.

I'm excited to come back to Daz but a bit nervous about DIM. Do you use it Kyoto Kid?

Things seem to be back to normal again now, with the site.

...was reluctant to use the DIM at first as I have a custom runtime/library setup and wasn't sure it would install to the correct places. At the time I was also on a 3G Wireless plan which had a slow and in the end, often unstable connection. The first version of the DIM also kept corrupting my username every time I started it up (again possibly due to the poor connection). The only way I could perform downloads was to go to a local hotpot, but I could only do so on my notebook so I had to manually transfer everything over via USB sticks and couldn't figure out how to get the DIM on workstation to read them in offline mode. Hence I went to downloading only the .exe installers which were still available at the time. Needless to say it was a fairly cumbersome and complicated mess.

Once I switched to high speed cable (as well as installed a major update) the ills disappeared. and I learned I could direct installations anywhere on the system. Saved not only a lot of time, but money as I no longer had to pay for coffee & snacks to sit at the hotspot while downloading.

One of the best features are that it notifies you of any updates, provided of course the content was downloaded and installed with the DIM previously. Unfortunately, I had already installed most of my content before using the DIM so I will not get any update notices for any of it unless I do a full reinstall of everything.

nice video. I want a to make a big city in Studio but I am only running 32 bit Windows. I guess I could find a picture of a city and use it as a background photo.

rant of the day: yes, I realize that some people don't like artistic nudes but here is what happened to me - I uploaded some drawings of nude people on my site. I could set the drawing as "for general audience (G)" because they weren't showing any details. Think of RawArt's reptiles and wolves without clothes. a few months ago someone (not a moderator) chided me f or uploading naked humanoids that don't show genitals and other details. Today the same person chided me for the same drawings. I'm like, if you don't like it, then don't look at it. Don't bother me three months later because I have already forgotten about your complaint. I'm not changing my style to suit your tastes. Really people. I'm not breaking any rules for that art gallery. Their art rules are like ours:

we aren’t worried about figures made into scaled, feathered or furred monsters as long as they don’t have visible genital organs or nipples

sorry, had to get that off my chest. thanks for listening.

I thought the big snow storm was supposed to start on Monday? Looks like the meteorologists updated their forecast. At least the wind will be fairly calm.
