@Novica, as always, you're renders look so much better than the promos. You've got me taking a second look at Jane, as if I really need yet another female for my runtime... but she is just so darn cute!

    @ladair

Take a third look.  devil Just for you.

@serenenight   You're welcome. Looks like it really paid off LOL. I got two codes too, but only one worked. That would be a couple hours ago.

Thought I'd have some fun with Giovanni and use the Growing Up for Genesis 8 Male(s)  and the 200 Plus Head and Face Morphs for Genesis 8 Male(s)   I'm just using the named head presets (such as Brian, Christopher, Damien) and didn't mess with sliders or making custom characters.

    Age 5-6

    Age9-10

    Young Teen

    Older Teen

    200  Brian

    200 Christopher

Thank you for the review, Novica!  It was interesting seeing all of the different facial morphs in that pack with this skin set...and I will say...the little kid ones were kinda creepy. O.o  Especially with the 8 o'clock shadow on the kiddo. lol

    I'm glad you liked him.

Interesting note from the sale thread- if you wishlisted Book of Spells and the Textures, you're out of luck. It's no longer in the store. (I featured both in the thread.)

WHY can't Daz announce the gonna-pull-this-soon-get-it-now products?????

Rats. That's one I would have bought if I knew it was being pulled. :(

    Dang it, I probably did.

Just catching up. Been doing promos left and right and working on my website. And good Lord, Christmas is less than 2 weeks away. Totally not ready! And I can't afford to spend anything on 3D at the moment. Hoping to get some Christmas fun money soon, because I really want Charlotte 8!

Could be that the PA that created it didn't want them to do that if they plan to put it in another store.

I'm really disappointed that those are gone. I agree, some notice would be nice.  Even if the vendor is moving somewhere else.  Since I don't know where to find them, I can't pick it up somewhere else.  I mean, if they go to rendo, great, I might find them doing a search but since I don't know who the vendor is, for this one in particular, it could be a bit difficult.

Okay, the files say Andi3d so I did a search with that name and Book of Spells. That vendor EDIT: has a gallery image over at Rendo, but no products. I don't know who that is here?

Andi3D is now Mortem Vetus. Here is a page from their website which shows the Book of Spells: http://www.mortemvetus.com/product_info.php?cPath=3&products_id=35

ETA: All his products except those that are "DAZ Originals" seem to have been removed from DAZ. However, he still has some products for sale at Rendo. Maybe you could contact him there or  on his website.

Mortem Vetus are also on Facebook under that name so you could always pop a message on their page there. They are around all the time so will see it.  https://www.facebook.com/TheDarkSideof3D/

Well, others can look him up LOL. I already have the book and the textures  :)  Not sure which products I have that are his and DOs, but I remember his store went on sale bigtime last year.  Wow, I just looked- only SIX things in the store.

Tried this on all the Genesis figures but autofit/mesh problems with them all, so I'm using V4 which it was originally made for, here.

@taoz   Quite lovely! Yours is MUCH prettier than the promos!

I'll mention this here because someone already did (SIGH) on the sale thread. The 2015-2016 category is 70% and goes to 83% with a new release from today (I didn't test to see if it works with any new releases.)  Apparently Stonemason's got fixed, but this one didn't.

Edit: never mind, information on the documentation in Daz is SO out of date with old versions, I'd recommend YouTube first.  Even the Daz channel is better than the printed documentation. Very sad they don't bother to give out proper information.

Oh WOW. Lights out at Atlanta International Airport?!!! Imagine going into pitch black with thousands of strangers! International flights couldn't land, people couldn't debark, there were over 100 planes sitting out there on the runway...OUCH. So glad my sons got here last weekend! (They missed mom's 90th party by one day, as they got snowed out of Atlanta. This is CRAZY regarding that airport!!!!)  CNN has the latest report. (One of their editors is stuck on a plane.)

And that fire is only 45% contained. Here's the ABC news station again (it was buried in a link several pages ago.)  Oprah Winfrey's home is in the threatened area now.

The images are just heartbreaking. It's nothing short of a miracle there has only been one fatality. So many homes completely consumed.

I'll give most of the credit to Iray - it gives new life to a lot of old content. And a lot of the older content is really well done, and often of better quality than most stuff today. And much of it goes for $1.99.

So many hard things going on right now! I feel selfish posting about a puppy, but this one has brought some smiles to our life. Incoming TMI...

We have the very large Standard Poodles (awesome for allergies) that folks call royals (marketing term for the size, which I think is 65 pounds plus). I have a daughter with high-functioning autism (who got a job last month!!!!). Last summer, she lost her black poodle boy of 11 years. She couldn't handle not having a dog, so we got a black royal boy for her a few months later, which she named Eli, from the Legend of Eli Monpress by Rachel Aaron  I hadn't had my own dog for 8 or 9 years after losing a couple in a row and felt the heartstrings tugging madly, so we bought another puppy from the same breeder and named him Julius (from Nice Dragons Finish Last). They were the best buds, always wrapped around each other, touching each other; they had only been apart for 2-3 weeks in that gap before we bought Julius and other than that were together their whole life.

In August at age 13 months, Julius suddenly manifested the symptoms of a severe heart defect that didn't respond to medication and he went downhill quickly. When we had Julius put to sleep, Eli wouldn't eat for three weeks without major coaxing and treats. He was severely depressed and lost weight; his whole personality changed and he started crying anytime anyone left. He didn't want to play or spend time outside; he just wanted to be held or touched. He was just depressed and anxious that someone else who went out the door would never come back. The breeder replaced Julius due to the heart defect, and we chose Eli's full brother, 15 months younger; the four months without a brother was just hurting Eli so we chose not to wait longer.

Anyway, Josef joined our family one week ago; when he arrived at eight weeks of age, he weighed 16.8 pounds, which means he could end up being 85-95 pounds. More book names... In the Eli Monpress books, Eli is the greatest thief in the world, and Josef is his best bud / comrade in arms, the greatest swordsman in the world, and wielder of the living sword, Heart of the Mountain. Josef also means that "God will increase," especially as in honor, courage, etc.  I'm attaching some pictures. The one of the two black Poodles is Eli and Julius, best buds forever, and all the others are Eli (large and black) and/or Josef (small and chocolate). Eli is so tender and careful with Josef! Yes, he's bowled him over accidentally a few times, but overall he tries to coax him to play, hunkering down and doing play bows, gently pulling toys and towels past Josef to coax him.

Size difference: Eli has lost down to 71 pounds. Hopefully, he'll gain some weight back to be 75 pounds or more. So Josef is just a bit smaller at the moment. wink

[Side note: you may notice Eli appears intact. He has intact gonads, but had a vasectomy, so cannot procreate. We did that for maximum health according to the latest canine health research and statistics. Eli still has the same fantastic, gentle personality he always had. Julius was the same. We loved having that choice.]

Edited to remove accidental book spoiler.

Oh my goodness cuteness overload!  They are both beautiful and I am happy that Eli has a new buddy!  So sad about Julius.  Its amazing the capacity for love our pets have!

  • @firewarden thank you for sharing your puppy pictures! I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Julius. Josef looks adorable and hopefully, Eli has made a new friend.

Wishing you the best with your new family addition!

    Trish

  • I don't know if anyone picked up Dolly for Genesis 8 Female or not so I thought I'd post a render and give my thoughts about her. I thought she was a good deal and I like her morphs. Fitting pants and hair is a little tricky but might be worth it if you don't mind playing with adjustments. I haven't found any pants that fit her morphs yet without massive pokethru. She has a big head so you'll have to scale up most hair. I had a hard time with any hair that has separate ponytails. They just do weird things like stay inside the head. I haven't figured out a way around that yet. Dresses and skirts work better for her. I haven't found any pants that fit her morphs yet. I do like her morphs. I think she is unique and will be fun to play with.

I'm so sorry Julius isn't physically there with you any longer, but happy his spirit is always in your heart. Your puppy is adorable and belongs on a poster!!!! Eli is one very lucky dog that you understood him so perfectly, and got him the buddy that he needed most!

It took me almost two hours to get on the forums, CloudFare was working, the forums weren't. Said host error. Anyway, be awere the Velocity Outfit DOES have a texture set, you may have picked it up during one of the latest glitches, but the outfit itself wasn't discounted. So see if you have the textures!  For the Add Ons on the product page, I'm not seeing anything. (I assume it would still be there if I had it, or not? Maybe not? I can't remember.)

Finished the second (and LAST) truckload for the charity and have to drop that off, then take son and friends a couple hours away to meet up with other friends. Celebrating my son's birthday in January, but everyone is in town. LOVE it when the kids who grew up together, and who have spread out all over the country, get together in their twenties!  So proud to have one friend from the Army stay in touch, who is married, and another is Air Force and married. Both came home for Christmas.  Wow, kids DO grow up, don't they?!  So offline all day., and getting to sleep now (2:15am, getting up in about 6 hours..ugh.)  I know you'll hold down the fort.

@knittingmommy   Your Dolly is adorable. Hope you can find an easier clothes solution though. Hate pokethrough!  For the hair, maybe put the hair on a Genesis 3 gal that closely matches her head shape (like an Aiko or Girl?) then ghost out the Genesis figure after moving her on top of the Dolly. It will look like Dolly is wearing it.

Before I go, just a fun holiday thought. Share your pooches! We'll have dog days for the rest of this week, and you can throw in your cats, birds, horses, reptiles, mammals, whatever. Show us those special family members, past and/or present, that made/ make your home special all year round. I'll post my critters tomorrow night or the next day, as I won't be getting home until late. Please tell us your critters' names, ages, anything special about them, funny stories. Have fun!  wink

Lovely dogs, makes me nostalgic for the miniature poodle I had growing up, who was convinced he was a much bigger animal, lol. As a breed, poodles get an unfair rap, IMO. I like Rachel Aaron's books for the most part, so I thought the names were cool as well. :)

Thanks IceDragon, they are most defiantely Momma's boys but when I am home on leave I can't sit dow without them wanting to sit in my lap. 140 pounds worth of boxers is a lot of lapdog :D Wouldn't trade them for all the gold in the world. They have the best personalities, they love to play and run and don't get me started about them loving to chase birds! Seagulls never stand a chance with these two.
