nyquil expired last april  - can breathe

Wing suits are kinda like hang gliding without the hanging part :)

I had a co-worker on my last job, he was a contracter and only came in to the office one or two days a week usually.  He hated the winter.  The rest of the year, when the season opened up, he'd spend every Wednesday jumping out of perfectly good airplanes!  And sometimes he used his wingman suit.  I always wondered if I'd seem him next week, or on the news that night.

Somebody should animate this:  All that's needed is a Vickie, a long red dress, a stage, a sprig of flowers, a handkerchief and a weird hat.  Not a lot of posing required, mostly just translation.  Although getting 16 Vickies and 16 dresses in the same scene could pose a challenge. surprise

A week or so ago in one of these threads somebody said they were going to watch a Benny Hill marathon during a storm.  I chimed in and said watch for the episode where the Benny Hill gang did this type of dance while sitting in what looked like the bottom halves of a Dr. Who Dalek.  I've been looking for that episode of Benny Hill for years.

Kind of creepy, one of the posts said.  I kind of agree.  That's not dancing!  Roller skates or the misnamed hoverboards (they don't hover, so the name is incorrect).

Agreed that it is kind'a unusual/weird/creepy but I don't believe it's rollerskates.  It seems to be a folkstyle of dancing that has smooth machine-like gliding as it's goal.  If they're not using skates (which I don't believe they are) these girls have achieved a high degree of proficiency and are probably tops in their field.cool  Don't take this the wrong way but I'm very curious to see under their skirts. surprise  Maybe they have a stable of large trained racing turtles. laugh

    Troutface update:

Ended up going to the E.R. Sunday morning as the wound refused to heal.  E.R. doc took one look at it and admitted me into the hospital Sunday afternoon.  By Sunday evening they had determined it was a strep infection in the foot and had me on 2 kinds of antibiotic intravenously, 24/7 drip.  Sunday night my temperature hit 104F and I was pretty sure this was it for me, but somehow with ice packs they got me back down to 102F and it stabilized there.

Two MRIs on Monday morning, one with and one without dye.  Back into bed and more IVs, plus blood pressure meds as it went way up AND insulin as my blood glucose was running about 215.  Lovely.

Bone surgeon drops by and tells me the MRI shows the bone is clear, so I get to kep my foot.  Dodged the bullet there!

Nothing but IVs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and most of Thursday.  Fun... not...

Finally released Friday.  No more diabetes pills, now I have to inject insulin, I'm back on blood pressure meds, and I get to take amoxicillin for 5 days.  Got trained to do my own would care so I don't have to spend $150/visit to get it done at a clinic.  Urgh.  Sent home with two bags of goodies and a pile of meds...

..first wound care at home went well today, felt weird hosing out and packing a hole in my foot but it all worked out.  Taking blood pressure meds and antibiotic now.  Turns outt he doc prescribed the insulin but didn't supply any needles so I'm screwed until I can get in touch with the doc Monday.  Thankfully 2-4 days won't cause any permanent harm, but I am angry beyond mortal imagination about the stupid oversight.  Feh!

No more beer except 2-3 per day on weekends as it can cause issues with the insulin, and none at all while on the antibiotic.  I have a fancy shoe that keps weight from going on to the front of my left foot.. I walk funny.. but it beats amputation.  Bought bread and hummus, peanut butter, and sugar-free blueberry jam so I will eat OK while the foot heals.  Thank God I got paid Friday, but all my savings money went into medical supplies and cab fare for 2 weeks of to/from work (to stay off the foot as much as possible).  Got a cane.. again.  It might be permanent this time, oh well.

I hate injecting myself (got to do it Thu/Fri at the hospital as training) but it beats dying of liver and/or kidney and/or heart failure (3 most popular ways to die if you're diabetic).  Oh, and going blind, that happens too.

Anyway, I'm alive, the foot is still attached and healing nicely, and I likely have a good 15-20 years left in me if I bloody well take care of myself!  But I am in a most hateful mood and my milk of human kindness has gone sour, I'm going to hide as much as possible as I'm seriously on the edge of going off on someone who probably doesn't deserve it. sad Nothing like wondering when you're finnally going to slip up and croak to put a serious edge on you (well, it does ME, anyway).

Will post sporadically.  Everyone take care of yourselves, don't end up like me.  You won't like it. sad

I just remembered that I have another debit card that I could've used to pay for my Platinum Club fee.  I wish I didn't accidentally cancel the membership.  Now I need to spend $24 to reactivate the account.  Ah well, that is life.  It is too cold for me to go to the store and add money to my card.

May go down to the clinic this week myself and see about getting a blood chem update just for peace of mind.

I have a friend here who has to do insulin injections, don't think I could handle sticking myself.

There is some promising research relating to a stem cell treatment I read about that could be a a real breakthrough in curbing diabetes.

We need that Star Trek medicine.  Wave a little "salt shaker" like device with flashing lights in it over where you hurt and everything is good again.

Yeah, take care of yourself!  Your health is critical, don't end up like me.. full of drugs and doomed to stay that way until my body finally gives out from the damned stuff. indecision

I've read abut the stem cell research.. I can but hope.  It's all a matter of time and money, really.

I thought I'd never be able to stick myself but the tech is pretty amazing.. the needle is tiny and fine, you can barely see it and when getting poked I can barely feel it.  I inject in my belly fat so there's not a ton of sensation there anyway, it feels like soeone stuck me with a toothpick!  The insulin dispenser looks like a magic marker, I just put a needle on, prime it, turn the dial to the number of units I need and: poke, press button, wait 5 seconds, unpoke, done!  And only twice a day, too.  It's not like my poor departed love Sabine, she was Type 1 and injected 4-5 times a day with BIG needles.. she was a damn sight braver than I am.

Anyway, I promise not to just fall over dead, we'll all have plenty of warning (lol)! surprise

you need to connect a voice to an output channel.

perhaps this might help but anyway think they are VST files (?) and clicky on soft synth button ought to bring up a file requestor with all the synthesizers listed....

I'm seeing playback problems via the website but I DLd the AVCD MPEG file and it plays back smooth. There are a coupla things about that I guess nobody writes down real basic stuff like you need to create a "look at" target - an axis no geometry -  for the camera and  keyframe that instead of the camera, will make life a lot easier.

and second you need to adjust your frame rate somewhere wherever it is being written, there's absolutely no value using fractional frames for animation and your video codec is set to 29.97 fps, a video speed but it aint going to play nicely with whole frames ....

So see if you can at least set the fps to 30, or better still 24 cos apart from anything else less renders per second at 24 fps, and you will prolly need to do that in the editing software somewhere as well as set the frame rate in Carrara. Anyhow is real important that both frame rates match there.

I don't use Final Cut to turn frames into video, I use a mograph program called Motion that works very much the same way as Blackmagic Fusion and write video from there before I port it to an editor. Editing software tends to mangle animation frames if/where/when it can.

Is important to develop a workflow where WYSIWYG when you write the video, you can waste a lot of time fixing keyframes when the problem is with the video codec, for example.

eta oh ps you should be looking for a video codec with "P" for "Progressive"  on the end, like 720P or 1080P or academy progressive or something :)
