Braved the snow and bundled up for a walk to the grocery store this afternoon.  Neighbor's wife tried to get her car down the driveway this morning but failed.  Apparently she abandoned taking the kid to school and going to work.  Her husband finally had a little initiative and borrowed my snowshovel to shovel part of the driveway and got his wife's car parked down at the bottom.  Guess he doesn't want to make the entire driveway navigable, like to let me out or anything. frown

It's a quarter-mile walk to the grocery store, unfortunately the sidewalks were not cleared all the way.  I had to walk on the side of road for some of the distance.  I managed to get my PowerBall ticket and two bags of groceries (bread, hot chocolate mix, trash can liners, and eggs among other things.  Also treated myself to a couple of Hostess cream filled cupcakes (Yum) to replenish my energy spent trudging through the snow.  My feet, knees, thighs, and hips are letting me know that they didn't appreciate the trip.

..well, just got back from running errands, stopped off at a pub for a few beers, and then got some takeout Hawai'in Shoyu Chicken on the way home.  Very tasty.

Now I need a Mai Tai.

Ooh, just woke to find two adorable sketches in my inbox (on another site of course) from an artist I commissioned <3

A drawing of Tigrex (One of my fav Monster Hunter critters)  and two 10+ year old DnD characters I had created.

two decade-old DnD characters of mine that have gone unused for a looong time :<

On the left is Emily, a perpetually cheerfull Copper Dragon, and on the right is her mate - red dragon Lexius. Lexius was chased out of his nest at an early age due to being a runt and a 'pushover' as he was much less aggressive than his siblings. Between that and not being as aggressive as his siblings, he was chased out of the nest at an early age, so had to fend for himself for much of his early life. He grew up with different experiences and as he found his own way in life, his nature gradually shifted to a more 'neutral' stance than the traditional chaotic.
He ad Emily first met while in their human forms, and started spending time together with each other.

Emily I recall was fleeing from something/someone at the time, which is why she was in human form - but I can't recall what it was, if I even came up with an idea for that. I only know that in-character, she was reluctant to speak of it, even to Lexius (I figure she didn't want to drag him into her own problems, even after they were mated)

Emily: "Oh come onnnn smile for our picture" :D
    Lexius: "I am smiling...." >_>

real delicate drawings they are lovely :)

..well the biggest Powerball (1.6$ billion) is history. there were three winning tickets one in California one in Tennessee and one in Florida.

I don't know, but it seems that whenever we get a large jackpot, more often than not the winning ticket tends to be from Florida. I'm beginning to wonder about this. True, Central Florida is known as Lightning Alley but I don't recall any history of meteor strikes there (the most recent occurred in west central Russia but no winning ticket there yet) and I haven't heard of any resident of the "Sunshine State" drowning in their dog's water bowl (though Miami has seen more frequent flooding as of late).

California I can understand as it's a large and heavily populated state. But why seemingly always Florida? Why not New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Illinois (or crikey, even here in Oregon, we could use some "Powerball Love" here too).

...The Why Does Someone in Florida Always Keep Winning My Powerball Complaint Thread?

    i didn't win the 1.5 billion.

as a consolation prize, treated myself to chocolate croissant from starbucks.  warm flakey goodness, messy, flakes in my keyboard.

if no one asks me for anything today, gonna spend some time trying to figure out how a dinosaur would leave footprints in the carrara snow.

Heh, not reading all 122 messages, if anything is critical PM me.

Phone interview at 2:00PM today, doesn't feel like a good fit but it's worth a shot.

And, on the OMG OMG OMG front, the fellow I'vebeen doing some audio-for-video work with in the UK has just licensed 4 songs from me at $100 each! It's not a ton of money but is enoug to carry me on for several weeks before disaster finally befalls me!  PLUS, I can say I have now been paid for my music to be used to score animation to, so I qualify as a semi-pro!!!

I'll be making os list of the videos and posting them here, 2 are already done.  There may be more in the works as well!

OMG CASH MONEY FOR MY MUSIC!  laughsurprise Every little bit helps, I swear! My burn rate is low so this will bail my butt out.

Bought 3 Powerball tickets, maybe I'll win $10 lolol!!

Back to sending files tp the UK...

hey gratz & very well done :)

Thanks.. still in shock, totally unexpected.. will help keep body and soul together for a while.

Didn't win Powerball! crying Just my luck, will have to work all my life.

Bank run today, and second round interview tomorrow.. looking very positive.. here's hoping it all goes well! laugh

Morning. Mobs of white capped seagulls like an army of kitchen hands foraging around overloaded dumpsters which don't smell so bad since a luminous grey overcast moved in to take some hot out of the sun :)

    Is snow and ice ?

Yes, It made it really treacherous on some roads early this mornig, as we had been having really heavy rainfall, and the drop in temperature and the snow meant that snow was settling on already icy roads.
