Does artificial sweeteners contain rat poison?

Or do rat poisons contain artificial sweeteners? Technically some rat poisons are artificial sweeteners, it depends on how you look at it... If the sweetener has been shown to cause cancer in laboratory animals, then from a rats perspective, it's sorta poisonous... Especially if you are one of those rats that doesn't know when to stop putting saccharine in their coffee or drinks case after case of Tab... They still make Tab, right?  What the hell was tab supposed to taste like? I always thought it was a carbonated version of that stuff you use to remove rust, scale and calcium deposits... But apparently it was a diet soda... I suppose you lost weight by never ever wanting soda again after drinking that stuff... ?  I don't think artificial sweeteners are supposed to deliberately have rat poison in them... It's probably not a good idea from a marketing standpoint... But I suppose if they all did, then as a manufacturer, you could write "Now with 15% less rat poison than the other leading brands!!" on the package, like that was making it healthy or something. Did someone give you rat poison for your coffe and when you questioned it they said "Naaa, don't worry... It's the same thing, Splenda and Rat Poison are made from the same stuff"... Because if they did, they are deceiving you... Have you signed any lengthy legal documents for them on the pretense that they just want d to see what it would look like if signed a document like that... If so, be careful... Or, if you are looking for a good alibi for poisoning someone else, I wouldn't use that one, it doesn't work anymore... If you have a rat problem and are willing to settle in for the long run, then you could probably just give them massive quantities of artificial sweeteners until they dropped dead... Or you could give the massive quantities of sugar and watch them become comically obese and eventually die from some sort of diabetic shock or heart failure. Sweaty fat little rats are sad after a while though, and you may just feel sorry for them and end up buying them little track suits and exercise equipment. I'd just hit them with a chair or stool... It's really a lot quicker.

Thumbs up on this one.  Or should that be thumbs down for death to the rats?

I'm getting very antsy, and it's not even due to the ants infesting my pants... Really uncomfortable that is... Today is one of those days where I can't really get anything done... Every time I start one thing, I get interrupted and have to move on to something else, the phone, people... The ants... Grrr...  Actually, not Grrr... More like MRARRRROooooooWHAaaaaaahaaaaWaaarrrr... You have to speak Wookie to get that.

Which is more expensive vRay or iRay

On-board GPU, 300W PSU sound pretty limiting - the CPU is 3.4GHz by the look of it, quad core with Hyperthreading.

I have to visit the ladies room but I am on a bus complaint.  Bus driver is taking a break too.

Also my bus stop is being discontinued come January 10th.

do other people use your stop?  mebbe you can make petition together to keep the stop

i been tryin to get them to put a bench at my bus stop.

...after 18 years of badgering the transit commission to replace a shelter they removed at the bus stop in my old neighbourhood, nothing has been done.  Very nasty place to wait for a bus in winter as we get strong icy cold winds out of the Columbia Gorge whipping down the street often driving the rain horizontal.

There is no place to get any kind of cover on that corner and the next nearest bus stop with a shelter is a long 6 block walk away.

They also closed an intermediate bus stop as well.

...and they keep claiming they're making "improvements"

    Core power!

    what's faster than an i7?

    A Xeon?

...some are, and those are expensive, especially if they have more than 4 cores/8 threads.  This is why I'm looking at two E5-2630-3 8 core/16 thread CPUS for my next build (685$ ea vs over 1,000$ for a faster one).  They also use the LGA2011-3 socket which supports Quad Channel memory.

I guess I read the above conversations about processors and started writing... its not to anyone in particular... I guess... I didn't have my coffee yet and it was like 6:30 AM... I guess I put down the iPad and never hit "Post Comment"

The whole thing with the i5 and i7 processors having very different specs between the versions was a huge pain to me... A few months back I finally bought a new computer and the worst part of the purchasing process is finding the actual specs for the unit you are looking at.  It was very annoying because many sellers leave out so much vital info... Like LG said, not all i5 and i7 processors are the same and what I kept coming across was store selling machines with processors, two or three versions old, as brand new... One of the big tricks to make people get all excited over a unit is to offer a bigger hard drive... It was like almost every time I saw a large capacity HD, the processor were older, it's not a rule but overly common... the moment I saw a good price I'd start checking and cross referencing and more often than not find the processor was versions behind.  After a while, I gravitated towards Dell because their specs were easier to get a hold of... It was easier to check a model number from a vendor and find out the specs for that models setup... Dell itself is terrible has terrible sales, but I think that's true of any manufacturer... Going to a brand's store makes you wonder why anyone would do that... Nothing is close to reasonable priced, I really think only rich people with no time waste shop at those... Or possibly folks who are shopping for their business... Anyway, that's irrelevant, eventually I came across some site that had a really well laid out cross reference chart for processors... Wikipedia has an okay one, but this was very easy to use... I eventually bought a Dell XPS8700 (I think that's the model, I'm not near it now), from Costco... Even though it's Costco, they had a very thorough spec chart and the sale price was good... About $350 below any price I could find for that exact same setup... The OS was Windows 7 pro (that actually was a bonus to me) and the HD was only 1 TB, but a parakeet can change a HD (well, the new parakeet friendly HDs)...   Overall, my point is the actual model number is the most important thing to find out, because for example XPS 8700 means nothing... It's like "Ford F-150" or "Honda Civic"... What year? What engine? What interior package?...  Many manufactures will have an Ultimo 37000, UberCore XZP200 or CompuTron 3Z... But if you can find the actual model number for the unit on sale, like say UCXZP200-B10005D, you'll find out if that UberCore XZP200 is worth it's price or two years old.

...my current system has an old Nehalem i7 which doesn't support the Reality4.x speed boost, so I still have to deal with glacial rendering times even compared to CPU rendering in Iray (which is why I never installed the latest Reality/Lux update).

how many cores in a Xeon?  does it need special OS version to recognize the cores?

Xeons go from 4 to 18 hyperthreading cores (36 processor threads) the latter being very very expensive. The old adage "if you have to ask, it's too expensive" applies here.

...still needs a dedicated GPU as it only has Intel Integrated Graphics and a bigger power supply to support it (I wouldn't settle for anything less than 750w). Add about another 500 - 800$ for the upgrades depending on what Nvidia GPU you get.

If you plan on upgrading your computer before DS 4.9 passes out of beta, make sure you get Win 7. Win 8.2 and 10 won't run iRay and since 4.9's pending, no fixes forthcoming. Otherwise wait for a stable 4.9 or stick to 3DL.

short answer is no. Longer answer is you could possibly apply 2D motion blur to a background during a compositing pass if that didn't look so good. If you want to look into compositing

short answer is no. Longer answer is you could possibly apply 2D motion blur to a background during a compositing pass if that didn't look so good after all. If you want to look into compositing take a look at (free) Fusion from Blackmagic

Is a site my friend directed me to.  Don't mind the exact page it's showing, that's just what I had bookmarked at the time :P

There was another site I had bookmarked before that had a loooot more options, to the point it was confusing to navigate - plus there was no "I'm new to computers, what does all this jargon mean? Why is this piece important?"  help overviews to the parts like on this site - so I picked this one over the other one.

Meh don't worry I get confused as well, they must have taken lessons from a phone company :)

So DS 4.9 won't run iRay on Windows 10?  I know DS 4.8 can run iRay on Windows 10.

As I understand, there is a known bug with Win 8.2 and Win 10 with iRay. For me, running 8.2, I cannot run iRay. DS 4.9 fixes those problems. But, I will not, after much experience, install a DS beta. I will wait for a stable version. If you're running Win 10 and iRay in DS 4.8 with success, good on you. If you're running the 4.9 beta, the issues should have been fixed. Since my only available OS upgrade is Win 10, it doesn't solve the iRay issue. Until there is a stable DS 4.9 I won't upgrade; thus, 3DL is my render engine.
