Our eight inches of snow from a few days ago is gone.  Washed away by days of warm rain.  Buffalo not expected to get snow again for three weeks.

Totally bored with TV.  Seen everything available.  Tired of watching & reading fiction.  Hazard of old age, nothing's new.  Even my music collection gets repetative.  To combat this I listen to the good classical radio stations (WETA Washington DC or WNED Buffalo) via the Internet and they often come up with something new and delightful.   Currently though I keep returning to Dvorak's only piano concerto.  I haven't gotten tired of it yet.  First & third movements are typically bold Dvorak magic but I've fallen in love with the 2nd movement.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2GuNrwUuiU (beginning at 19:15) What a haunting melody!  Slow, quiet, dreamy.

My Christmas present to myself this year was a good set of wireless headphones.  I wanted a quality receiver/amplifier and proper speakers but the budget objected (strenuously).  So I splurged on a good pair of headphones for 1/4 the price.  Very happy with it (Sennheiser RS-170). Much better sound than my current cheap computer speakers.  Comfortable, even when I'm wearing my glasses, plenty of range, and they're digital so I get no noise from flourescent lights and I get crystal clear reception everywhere in my apartment.  And I don't have to worry about disturbing the neighbors in the adjoining apartment.

there's nothing quite like a satisfying set of headphones and a few favourite tracks :)

Bank run this morning to get the last paycheck out, then off for fried chicken, then home to work on music and art.  Christmas dinner shopping tomorrow as I don't want to set foot outdoors Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.  Nothing open Christmas Day, and Christmas Eve is a shopping nightmare! surprise

Drinking coffee and nibbling bacon, downloading a pile of Gen2 stuff.  I should be in good shape in not too long.

Mmmmm, thick sliced hickory smoked bacon! laugh

Did you tell you what you got you or did you peek?  I hate when I get me something and I peek... It's hard not to, last year I knocked over a big display in BestBuy, which was weird because I was supposed to be in Harbor Freight... I should of guessed something was wrong, because I was pretty sure the bathroom in Harbor Freight was bigger, but it turned out it was actually one of those big upright freezers... Well, someone is gonna get a big discount on that floor model. But anyway, I try not shop with my eyes closed now.  I hope you weren't hoping to surprise you because if you read your post you are gonna know what you got you... Unless you already told you or discussed it beforehand.

everrry mornin the pigeonses hanging out on this sign.

I know that sign... Or one just like that... I waited over there for an hour during the summer... Well, near it... Thats near the big creepy sand hill and down the road is a Jaguar dealership... Or Land Rover... Or both... or none if it went out of business since I was there. Don't trust those pigeons, they talk nice until they get your french fries and then they don't wanna know you... It could be worse, on the south shore, seagulls outnumber pigeons 6-1... The seagulls just mob you and take your fries and then fight over the crumbs. There is a Dunkin Donuts near me with this huge male herring gull that hangs out on the ground by the front door... When people come out with food in their hands, or eating, he will follow them (walking after them, inches behind) to their cars... He has this weird edgy vibe, like a drug addict panhandler... I'm pretty sure one day he is gonna carjack some old lady and take her munchkins. Keep an eye on News 12 for that.

    both dearlerships still there.

clutching tightly frenchfries to my bosoms.  don't trust shifty pigeons. :)

I got my self-shopping habit from my experience playing chess with myself.  Learned to keep two of my personalities from cheating.  But the others gossip a lot, so sometimes it's hard to not listen.

Glad to share.  YouTube is an amazing educator for classical music.  One gets to see the performance even better than live at a concert.  If only the sound was as enveloping.

I've had to give up alcohol and caffeine and lactose and carbonated beverages, so tonight my relaxing beverage (in more ways than one) is eggnog and later, prune juice.

i bought myself the sennheiser earbuds.  good quality.

Yes, quality.  50 years ago I was a freshman in college and I scrimped and saved to get myself a pair of Koss headphones to wear in the dorm while studying.  I stuck with Koss headphones of various types over the years until Koss ran into financial trouble. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/40245372/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/t/ex-koss-exec-gets-years-million-embezzlement/#.VnrXssZIiUk

Then for a while I had a pair of AR wireless headphones but they were FM technology and after 6 or 7 years the ear pads wore out and the electronics started having trouble staying tuned to the right frequecy and I had to continually adjust the tuning dial.  And because they were low power FM analog technology they picked up electronic noise from motors and flourescent lights.  There was also a continual background hiss to mix with the continual ringing in my ears (tinnitus).  Then I discovered Sennheiser headphones.  I have a pair of hard wired Sennheiser on-the-ear headphones (PX-360) for my MP3 player.  Good sound but they're uncomfortable for long time use.  I'd drooled over the over-the-ear digital Sennheiser RS-170 headphones for a long time but the price kept me away until they were discontinued and marked down about 30% in some stores.  This model has bass boost and Surround-Sound too.  Quite satisfied.  I even bought an extra set of ear pads for the eventual day they're needed.

I've tried earbuds, several types, shapes, qualities and with changeable inserts but apparently my ear holes are not designed for earbuds.  I have to stick with headphones.

I miss playing with physics hehe, but Cinema lacks it except for in the Studio edition :<

I remember seeing someone make a full airplane simulation in C4D using the  physics engine. Tilting the mouse would make the plane move, and everything. It was really, really cool.
