...bugger, found another incompatibility with G3. Seems any V4 hair does not want to pose due to the fact there are now two neck zones (the neck often being the bone usually used for basing posing and shaping of older hair content).
well, V4 is now 4 generations ago

start at the emperor's palace? he's not home though.
I'm not sure I should be glad or sad that I have not yet gotten a tablet or smart phone. I keep turning down fix-it jobs from people who ask "could you just look at my tablet (or phone)?" and I immediately turn them down saying "No, I only work on desktop hardware & software or laptop software, I've never even touched a tablet or smart phone. Sorry. Perhaps if you have a young child in the family, they could fix it?" To which they usually reply, "Oh, yeah, my nephew (or niece) is a wiz at that stuff."
It's not that I haven't thought about getting a tablet or smart phone. Well, tablet mostly. I object to carrying around a phone that won't fit in my pocket with room to spare and looks ridiculous when you put it up next to your head, and costs an arm and a leg to stay connected so that you can not learn how to read a map or look up addresses in a book or seems to force you to walk down the street staring at a piece of plastic in your hand oblivious to the world while poking it with deformed thumbs.
Tablets seem to have some small level of useful functionality as more portable laptops and as lunch trays. And I assume if I had one I could use the WiFi in my house to stay connected and watch a movie while preparing dinner so that I wouldn't have to turn my head 45 degrees and refocus my eyes 8 feet further away at a screen big enough that if it were a window I could fit a cow through it. I always wear a good set of wireless headphones so the audio problem is already solved. I could always use it as a camera, I keep getting surprised by the quality pictures that these phones and tablets can make with a tiny lens. But I'm a semi-professional photographer and it seems like sacrilege to not use a thing that looks like a camera to take pictures with. Have you seen these people who wrestle a lunch tray around to try to take a picture with it? OMG ROFL!!!!
If I had a tablet or smart phone I could be familiar with what it's supposed to do and how it's supposed to be configured so that I could fix them for other people. But then there are so many different types and manufacturers each with their ideosyncracies. I look at the awesome display in the big box stores and my mind reels at the thought of picking one out. How big should I get? Should it hold just a hot dog or an entire dinner plate and glass of milk? How fast should it be? Well, that's a silly question, as fast as possible of course! And they look inexpensive too. Until I start thinking what I'd like to do with them and then that gets me into the 5,6,7,8,9 hundred dollar range and I can get a half decent desktop machine for that. Sigh, nope, I think I'll just stay blissfully ignorant of them and let the kids have a chance at tech burnout just like I did.
ask each phone what the meaning of life is, the one says 42 is the 'one' :)
Don't think UHD is 4K exactly, is 3840x2160 more a broadcast rez I thought :)
You can frame them however you want, whose going to argue 'cept a few nerdy types ?
google:
or was 'what is the meaning of 42?' the question ?

Google is your friend. Google "Where is the sun in the galaxy", and ta-da!
https://www.google.com/#q=where+is+the+sun+in+the+galaxy
Pleased to see that the first image I saw showed the Milky Way galaxy as a a "Barred Spiral" as per it's recent classification.

kinda scary in'it, black hole so close.

Blue and Not-Green.
I don't know where this idea came from, but once it popped into my head I couldn't stop snickering at it.
Finished it in about two hours, and that included time spent giggling like an idiot.
Not easy being green. Cool work, Rezca.
The "Orion" arm, I believe.
Edited to correct: According to the following article and image we're in the "Orion Spur". Hmmm... very interesting.

Is all very romantic sounding like being in the end of a rainbow :)
yes yay green +1 :)
...the hair I'm using worked fine with G2 which still had just the single neck bone. In G3 there is an "upper" and a "lower" neck bone now, so the hair's posing parameters will no longer open up.
Bad enough I can no longer use skin maps from older characters, now a good portion of my hair content is no longer useable.
...I guess iz working now ahem
It doesn't work if you parent and inherit bends instead of conform ?
...?
Samsung makes some of (if not the) best monitors. I have a Samsung T220.

What? When did they move to V8? (I could'a had a V8) I'm pretty sure they're only on the 7s.

...I never conform Gen4 hair to any Genesis based character as the weight mapping, especially with long hair, as makes it behave oddly. It also tends to remove any handles and/or lock out styling morphs the hair would normally have.
Again, a good amount of Gen4 hair uses the "neck" as the base for opening the morphing channels (a few also use the head). Even if just parented (not conformed), the hair I'm using (Bolina Hair) shows all the G3F bones including "Neck Upper" and "Neck Lower", (not just "Neck)", when the hair is expanded in the scene tab. Clicking on either bone does bring up the original morphs in the Parameters tab, which for Bolina Hair was originally broken into several categories as it has a tonne of different styling and shaping morphs.
I've been working on developing Leela's tomboy daughter Annika using G3F and the newly released Growing Up morphs. Switched to using the Skyler Long Hair for now as I needed a style that works with a young girl of about 8 years old.
V8 only works in daz Studio 5 but I do not have that yet so I cannot use Victoria 8. My time machine can only bring back products I cannot use because my tardis's hard drive is full of every cute kitten picture found on the web.
