I also wasn't sure about the way this as marketed, as being able to combine characters with different features and not have the products artificially separated out by gender was one of the selling points of G9, so why make a "male" product tied into requiring Victoria rather than just a nwe character without the additional product needed.
That said, Vick's chest looks pretty good compared to a lot of other lean masculine bodies we have seen in the store!
Vick vs. Victoria: I think you need to render them next to each other, scaled to the same size whatever way, not front/back. I might be too bad at discerning, though.
Thanks for the info everyone, and the comparison images. Very informative.
So does this new product overcome what a lot of people were complaining about as far as the masculine chest and nipples on G9? I assume it can be used on any G9 base and overcome the chest making it more masculine looking?
Thanks for that! It makes me wonder, since you say it loads with all of V9 at 100%, then applies Vick at 100% too... can you use the V9 Masculine Body on other feminine G9 models to effectively zero out their breasts, or does it only work for V9? (Considering what you said about the nipples?)
Brief tests suggest: Not entirely well.
Vick's sliders on Freja created a definite "we were trying to create a male chest by ironing out the breasts" wrinkle, unless you took the Vick body down to about fifty percent ... at which point the pectorals began to look definitely breasty, so no win there. And you need to apply Vick's surfaces (or some other G9M surfaces) or the nipples look strange.
Going the other way around, starting with Vick, and using Freja sliders to try to get a somewhat more muscular version of Vick (Freja is WAY more muscular than Vick) worked somewhat well ... to a point. If I gave it more than fifty percent Freja, again, he began to go from "nice pecs" to "we can't really call those pecs anymore, can we now?"
I may experiment more in the future, though; it seems to me you might be able to arrive at something with a fair bit more tinkering that I don't have time to do right now.
See my comment just above. I don't have time to play with it a LOT right now, but I don't think you're going to be able to use it to masculinize a G9F chest convincingly. You'd do better mixing and matching other figure shapes to try to get there.
(Do NOT apply Victoria 9 Masculine onto a generic G9 with Base Masculine on, unless you are fond of body horror. Trust me on this.)
You're fantastic, thank you for all your testing!
thanks. I guess I'll save my money
The Vick mrph comes across as a rather decent late-teen male figure. Which is not unwelcome, depending on what you are doing a render of. And probably useful as a starting point without needing to jump through whatever hoops are necessary to get to a masculine base before starting.
Not convinced that it's worth the price to me, even though I am being offered a discount.
I thought Vick looked very feminine in most of the promos.
Edit: He looked like V9 with a flat chest. The promo with the muscles is rather misleading. That is not the body you get with the product, as far as I can tell. I didn't buy it, so I can't verify that it is not included, but I sure didn't see anything hinting that it was included.
I realize this is a bit late, but this product was new on Monday and is still on sale today, so I hope it's OK.
I just really wanted to give a shout-out to Roguey and Strangefate for STF Tribal Armor for Genesis 9 and Genesis 8 Female and STF Tribal Body Paints Vol.1 for Genesis 8 and Genesis 9. I've been investigating these for a couple of hours now (finally). All I can say is WOW!! For anyone who does fantasy/jungle/Amazon type renders, these are fantastic. As usual, the attention to detail and the potential options are outstanding. Yes, it is a bit more expensive than the standard DO products, but IMHO the quality and detail is much better than the vast majority of DO's (and many other PA products, but that's just my opinion). As expected, the Tribal Armor outfit lives up to the standards of their earlier clothing products. I was a bit hesitant on the Tribal Body Paints because often they just don't looks as good in general use (without some extra work) as they do in the promos (i.e. lack that little something that makes them look realistic), but for me these definitely didn't disappoint. Tons of options with the ability to use two layers. Note however that they do use geo-shells, but if you are OK with that, then they are really top notch.
The other plus for me was that they are for Genesis 8/8.1 as well as G9. Since I still don't have a lot of G9 stuff for this genre; it's a huge plus and helped me make the decision to go ahead and use up a huge part of my budget on these. I should also mention the their other recent releases work very well with these, especially STF Tribal Witch Doctor Undies and Body Paint for Genesis 9 and Genesis 8 Female. Probably the biggest drawback to their outfits is that it can take a bit of work to kit bash with their stuff simply because it's hard to match the details/realism with many ot the other products available (but it can be done with the right content).
Like Barbult, I too thought Vick looked very feminine in many of the promos, like Victoria playing dress up. So I felt that if one really needed a family resemblance, it makes sense to just use her morphs to get there.
As for the chest issue, what's stopping us using a G9 male body and her head morph? I decided to create a quick version of V9's twin brother, after seeing Columbine's test render. This was just very quick: I used Thalius's body morph here with V9's head morph and tweaked the head/neck just a tad for the test, made "Victor" a bit taller, changed the brows and used V9's male mats.
Victor and Victoria
After the previous quick try at a V9 twin, I wanted a more natural looking Victor. Someone that looks like her, but not so identical. I just morphed the previous test version a bit here and there.
Victor and Victoria at home
Victoria's plotting something. I don't think she's impressed with a new brother taking the spotlight...
I wonder whether we will get a Mikkaela for Michael 9, just to show Genesis 9 works both ways.
Supra A90: The highly esteemed PAs really don't seem to realise that many of their customers are fed up with these pompous luxury or sports cars and need normal cars for normal street scenes. Electric cars, too, please, and not just big, fat SUVs.

It, like all the other vehicles by the same guy, are exclusively Editorial License, which means you can't use it for anything beyond your own desktop wallpaper anyhow (Which, if you really wanted a wallpaper of the vehicle that badly, you'd most likely just do a Google image search of the real thing), so it's useless. I imagine if they weren't all Daz+ bargain-bin items, they would go largely unsold.
TruForm at Rendo makes lots of normal cars (as well as sports cars and luxury cars and electric cars), and you can get them cheap on sale.
I tried one of the de-aging product with Michael 9 and yeah, his skin didn't work at all in that context

I don't have Victor, but @Columbine said that about Vick's nipples:
I admit, I have a soft spot for zombies, and I quite like LA Ghoul for Genesis 9.
Zombies usually have a lot of soft spots, depending on how long they have been undead.
Richard, are you still out in that catnip?
Um, well...
