    1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt

I found this car on gtaall.com but it was for GTA IV but I decided to download it anyway just to see if it would open in ZModeler. Opened ZModeler, went to Import, selected the car, and the "Import" button wasn't greyed out so I clicked it and it opened. Needless to say I almost had to go change my pants...LOL. Even tho it was set up as a police car, I deleted all to police acessories. I also used the headlight glass from a 1971 Superbee because the headlight glass was actually modeled. I changed to stock wheels on the Fiarlane to Cragar spokes tha tI had gotton off Turbosquid a few years ago. There weren't many of these made. The first eleven cars were painted in Ford's "Vintage Burgundy" while the remaining eighty-nine cars were painted "Wimbledon White" so I chase "Vintage Burgandy" for the color.

    Rendered in Poser Pro 2012

I opened this in ZModeler also, but the lights on top of the car were part of the main mesh. I could not delete them without deleting the whole underside of the car. How did you get them gone?

Also if you use the TXSWorkshop to convert your texture files, you can export them all as .tiff files that will work fine in Daz. They will keep their original names that way.

Also, if you have a locked file that won't open, you can run it through RWAnalyzer and change it to another version, that will unlock the file 99% of the time and you can open it then.

Both of these little apps are stand alone and free.

...wish there were more cars that didn't need converting in some third party app. Never could get Poseray to work quite right for me and Hexagon is still under Jack Frost's "freeze up" curse.

I haven't opened Hex in years, maybe I should uninstall it, its just taking up room on my hard drive!

Muse, I found that one awhile back, check out the 64 Impala in my render a couple of posts before yours.

    1966 Ford Fairlane 500

GTA IV conversion...well, not actually. I had been following Careface80 in this thread http://gtaforums.com/topic/718085-wipscr-blue-ovals/ because he had been working on the Fairlane. When he finally posted the download link for the car, it was in GTA IV format and wouldn't open in ZModeler. Another viewer (SilverRST) of that thread (along with myself) asked him if he was goign to do a GTA SA version and his answer was no because he wasn't doing those anylonger. So SilverRST asked if he could convert it to GTA SA and Carface80 told him he could and posted the files for the car here http://www.mediafire.com/download/9rvdny911lz02rw/fairlane.rar and that turned out to be the ZModeler file he used to convert the car to GTA IV. After deleting the L1 and L2 files, this is what is left..a high quality 1966 Fairlane.

I always did like that car and yes, it is a nice model and finally glad I got one.

I wasn't sure if anyone was still keeping track of this thread. I'd sure hate for it to fall by the wayside.

I made some fixes to the LOCI. The from swing arms were really bothering me because they were just too skinny at the ends where the wheel connects. It just needed to be fixed.

Along with an older brother, a twin brother, and younger sister, Marc Helrich grew up in a Nomad pack in the Australian Outback to :Outrider" parents and grew up constantly around various vehicles. It soon became apparent he had a "gift" for driving, and it soon became apparent that there wasn't any kind of vehicle he couldn't drive or pilot. He eventually went to work for Jose Carlos Mirandez, becoming his top Runner, often either operating the L.O.C.I. motorcycle or the Wraith Striker jet. Following a delivery of weapons to anti-Caliphate rebels, Marc rescued a young Shinobi from Caliphate forces, and took him to meet his boss on board his ship currently in the Gulf. When Mirandez' daughter, Maria, was attacked in her room by Argus Glaive, Marc, Mirandez, and Kageto went to save her. In the confrontation, Glaive crushed Marc's right hand bare-handed before being driven off. An attack by the enemy forced them all to abandon ship in the Wraith, and escape into the mountains where they met up with the Night Warrior, and, following a hand replacement, began engaging in combat and recon missions. He also admitted his feelings for Maria, making love to her, which resulted in a pregnancy. When Maria and her friend Jena were abducted by Glaive, Marc and the team would have to spend the next few months tracking them down and mounting a final rescue mission, during which, Maria would go into labor, and give birth to a son.

    Personality and Motivations.

Part Han Solo, part Crocodile Dundee, with a Dash of Bill and Ted for Flavor, Marc Helrich is a big, lovable goof. Marc is generally friendly and outgoing, and likes most people and having a good time. Has had a long-standing crush on his boss' daughter, Maria, before finally admitting it too her and spending the night with her. More than anything, Marc loves to drive his bike and pilot his jet, and is most happy when doing so. Everyone hopes that his relationship with Maria and impending fatherhood will force Marc to finally grow up.

I actually have a few vehicles i really like. One is the Cafe racer that MEC4d pointed to in her birthday thread. Really nifty with all the Iray mats applied. One of the others i absolutely love is the 57 chevy both the convert and the hardtop i have done quite a few renders with them.

The cafe racer is the bike obviously..i get alot of mileage out of the viper too. The viper and 57 convert are relative low poly models the cafe racer is high poly with lots of mat zones it took me like 2 hours to convert all the mats to iray the way i wanted.

Ok to get the ball rolling here is a few vehicles i rendered today. A 66 El Camino, Jeep and a Studebaker. I am not sure the scale of the Studebaker is correct i had to guess what size it should be based on my model. I still think i need to tinker with its size.

A lot of the vehicles i have were .obj that i had to import and put iray mats on. It wasnt difficult just time consuming cause i want it just so so playing with different shaders and colors etc.

Tom tom's iray custom shaders have helped with that ALOT! As well as giving more options for colors thanks for those Tom

...I tried to convert a few .objs, however every little piece was it's own mesh and none of the names pointed to what the parts were. Everything was just named "MODEL" with a number after it. Felt like I was spending more time figuring things out and then tagging them to group together than to just model from scratch..
