    Nomad, anyone?

Only problem is, Chevrolet didn't make the Nomad after 57!

57 was the last 2 door version. 58 and later were 4 doors, which are still pretty cool.

And after 57, noone considered anything other than the 55 thru 57 true Nomad's, Chevrolet may have used the name, but it wasn't a true Nomad, and they didn't use the Nomad name for very long after the 57.

How about this "Nomad"? The 56 Pontiac Safari. Talk about a rare bird!

I think I saw one of those recently!

Close, more like Ford Maranello Red, one of Tom2099's shaders, sadly, the paint shaders I paid for from DAZ don't work as well as the freebies from Tom2099.

    Latest one.... with a story..
I'm always on the lookout for good HDRI sets to use as environments for these renders.. I was browsing the Autodesk site tutorials and found an article (with downloadable files for the project) on working with HDR photos.. What I found really nice was that I recognized the HDRI backdrop. Its taken from the Bassin du Peel area on the Lachine Canal in Montreal, where I grew up and lived before moveing west. You can see the Bonaventure Autoroute, and t5he old Five Roses grain elevators/mill buildings.. Its fun to have a HDRI set that I've actually know and have stood on..

Great story, and that HDRI looks perfect for car renders. Do you have a link? Nice looking Goat btw.

Nice Ford GL! Awesome chrome wheel shaders...which are they...Toms? The white walls just give the entire render life! And is that THIS Ford, or is it the Ford you have been building for a long time? If so, I remember you started with the empty hull of a body...lol. It is just beautiful in this render. Great job!

Thats the Model A you have there, I simply used a warehous flathead V8, and wheels and tires from Nationale7's wheel and tire bundle, so yes, that one isn't the Duece, I still play with that Duece, right now I don't have any presets for it in my current installation of DS, but it will eventually end up being used on this computer as well.

Okay, after answering Mus yesterday, I had to put the Duece back into play, the Roadster up front is from Dudley, and is available at DAZ, the other one behind it, is the Duece Coupe that Mus was talking about, all one could download for that one then was the body, frame and radiator shell, there is a lot more to it now over on the warehouse, but I wanted it to be more retro, so that is what I aimed for, this is a Friday Night Cruise on Blake Ave.

You can start by buying zmodeler, which is one of very few programs that will open renderware.dff files, and convert it to an obj file and work on it in Blender or Poser from there, or you can download a dff plugin for Blender and usually open them that way, once in Blender, you will want to eliminate the DAM files, since you won't much need those anyway, alt.H will open those files and you can simply delete them, sometimes there are very few, sometimes there are many, but you just have to pick the right files to delete, of course you will also need the TXD workshop in order to open the texture files so you will have your headlights, gauges and other items of need to make the model complete, the models aren't really ours to share, so that is kind of out of the question.

I think you only pay for it once, it isn't very expensive, but even if it is, you only need about a month to squeeze out the cars you want anyway!

I got mine back when they were free...lol. Problem I have is the spam attatched to it. Pops up when I open it sometimes...randomly. I stopped doing the GTA conversions after about 300 cars...lol. I seperate the doors, trunk, hood, and each tire, then the rest of the body. They all load right into place after converting each to an object. Then into poser to set the rotation prigin to the hinge and set the open limits so it won't open too far and closes back to zero and rename the dial. Set the size for the car then save it as a .pp2 prop file to be used in Poser or Daz. One file loads all the parts as seperate items with open-close dials. I still have a hundred cars I have not sized, applied the textures to, or saved as complete cars. I need to do some soon. The GTA cars are some of the best detailed and accurate cars available. Many cars you get from the warehouse are just conversions of GTA cars. In Fact, you can put GTA car in the search and it will come back with tons of cars converted for sketchup use. BTW... the new sketchup 2017 exports .dae COLLADA files that will open in Daz. The problem I am having with cars is half of the car doesn't ;oad. Don't know why and I am trying different things to fix that. But...if you make a model IN 2017, it will export as a .dae that will import fully into Daz. Cool huh? It continues to work after the trial time runs out also. If you go find a Sketchup 7 download...it will give you full export for about 250 hours user time in the trial. I did .3ds exports and opened them in Poseray...smoothed them and exported them as .obj files to use in Daz. They look fantastic! Just some helpful info for you crazy car nuts like me...haha. Here is a Sketchup 7 to .3ds to Poseray...smoothed and to .obj into Daz. Nice huh?

I simply just export the skp cars out of sketchup as obj's, we can do that now, I'm running Sk2017, since it would have made no sense to download and use an older version, still use Poser 7 to tie into the DS libraries too, great that even in Windows 10, Poser 7 still works like new, I still do all my work in Blender to get the model ready for use in Poser.

This latest version of it, while I'm happy with the retro Deuce 2 as I call it, it has a fresh coat of  Iray paint and chrome on it! LOL

I have Poser7 I bought from the poser sight. It is full version and was expensive. I installed it into this pooter (windows 10) and it will not work. It loads with Simon up and when I hit "delete figure" it freezes and locks up, or anything I push or move, locks up immediately. Then it does a web search for a fix and closes. How did you get yours to work?

Also...when I export any .obj from Sketchup parts or textures are always missing from the .obj file. It sux real bad. Thats why I do .3ds...always works and has the textures in place. How do I get the .obj exporter to work right?

I couldn't tell you about how to get Poser to work for you, I had the same problem with the same software on my previous version of Windows 10, but when I bought a new computer, it seems to work flawlessly, exporting obj's from sk has never been perfect, so they do require work, I do it in Blender myself, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Ok.. too much shiny here.... have a rat rod! This is an older model from 2006 or so, I think, came on one of those cds of free stuff that some of the 3D related magazines used to come with.. Old enough that it only came in .3ds format

Did a bit of kitbashing to remove the elements I didn't want and added some bits and bobs..
