Both nice.  I saw some nice real old cars while up in New Hampshire this past week.  Couldn't tell you what they were, but they were cool and very well maintained.

    Dana

You must be a youngster, younger folks get into the newer stuff like from the 80's onward!

You're funny!  I was never a big car nut.  I have appreciation for the older cars and styles.  But I don't know a whole lot about them and can't tell some of them apart.  I can guess pretty good, though.  Until it comes to foreign cars, then the  only ones I have a clue about are modern ones....well, those and a Rolls has a certain look to it.

Youngster.  Hahahaha.  I graduated high school in 1971!

    Dana

Oh heck, your at least as old as I am, I guess if you never been a car nut, to me, all of todays cars look alike, and they're all ugly LOL!

Well, I don't agree that they're all ugly.  But there are some that are literally a box with wheels!  I don't understand how anyone could like them, aside from a child with a string to pull one of them!  cheeky  And they certainly don't look very aerodynamic, either.  But I do see a strong similarity amongst Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, etc.  But that happened when Ford made the Taurus.  For a while everybody made cars that looked like that one.  I like the looks of my Camry.  Except for the paint job, which has far too many dings these days.  No money to rectify that, sadly.

I'd never buy a Ford, but I do really like the looks of the Mustang since it made a comeback.  I don't count the ones from the early 80s, Mustang II did they call them?  I always told friends, "That's not a Mustang!  That's my little pony!"   laugh

    Dana

I like the looks of the newer Mustangs, and of course, the Camero, don't call a 4 door car a Charger, that is just WRONG! No such thing as a 4 door Charger! Chrysler should be bansished from the face of the earth for even thinking of making such a monstrosity!

My first vehicle was a Ford Econoline van.  Was OK for a little while.  But soon, it started overheating going across the city on a cool, rainy, evening.  Eventually was destroyed by punks in the neighborhood and I didn't have the money to fix it.  My next two cars were Chrysler Newports...'66, then a '69.  The '66 was great until the night of my wedding, on the way to the hotel we would stay at overnight, it rained like hell.  The lights got dim and the wipers started going very slowly.  Then I heard a noise and the power steering had no more power.  We honeymooned in New Hampshire, White Mountains area, so parking was not an issue.  But back home, it was horrible.  So I traded it in for a '69.  Those cars were great.  Tanks!  Mansions inside.  I could lay down on the back seat, totally flat out, and not touch the doors!  The '69 had a 383 V8 and positraction rear end.  I worked at a shop at the bottom of a decent hill in the city.  After work, a co-worker would try to race me up that hill with his Camaro Z28.  I blew him off every single time.  He couldn't understand it.   laugh  One time, some guy opened his door as I was passing him.  Door was toast.  No damage at all to my car!

After that car, I switched to Toyotas.  In '79 I got a '73 Corolla Wagon, that was previously used to tow a boat. Then we came into some money, and we got a 1981 Toyota Starlet.  Cheapest car they made.  5200 horsepower.  It slowed down going over the Braga Bridge!  But I got 51mpg highway with that thing!  It only cost $5,600 brand new!  First year, December 1, I was hit by a girl in a Firebird.  she had a stop sign.  She stopped, but didn't look and came out right at me.  I tried to swerve to avoid her, but she hit my driver's side rear quarter.  Combined with the momentum of swerving, my right real wheel hit the corner curbstone and the car went over onto the passenger side.  I was trying to regain control...amidst all this noise...until I realized that I was sitting on the passenger door.  No broken glass!  The passenger door was not pushed in, just had gouges from sliding on the street.  But, the rear axel was bent from the force of hitting the curbstone.  I was only going 30mph.  I couldn't believe I capsized at that low speed.  The policeman that responded said that it can happen under the right circumstances.  No broken glass, no pushed in door.  Right then I decided that Toyota is the car maker for me.  However, the shop it was towed to took forever to get the part and get it fixed.  I got my car back on December 24th.  A month of bumming rides to work, borrowing my brother-in-law's car to do grocery shopping, Christmas shopping, other chores.  Ugh!

Sorry for rambling on like that.

Yah those old 1980s Japanes cars did get some great mileage.  I averaged about 37mpg on my old 1983 Honda Accord, though it did ony have 76 Horsepower. (and that was 37mpg around town and pushing every little bit of performance the car had to give)
Oh, and back then Toyota must've measured engine power using hamsters, but the math conversion to American HP is easy (5200 Hampower = 52 Horsepower)

I store all my GTA cars on three different side drives. Each time I get one, I will randomly save it on one of these drives. I have three seperate GTA folders on each drive. Converted textures, not converted textures and converted to object. The last one are ones I brought into Daz, assembled all the parts, resized and applied all the textures. Completed cars for the purpose.

Last night I went through all the folders and I deleted all the folders I had more than one copy of. Some of these sites give you the same cars over and over. After the clean out was done, I deleted 165 copy folders. Over 2 gigs of trash. So, be careful, you could be replicating your 1970 Chevelle SS again and again. Many of the sketchup cars are the same GTA cars too. I will be cleaning them out next.

I am ready for some NEW stuff.

I had a 1969 Camaro SS....350, four speed hurst. One really bad ass fast car. I could eat most cars for lunch. The one car that gave he a real hard time was a 1980s Toyota Celica GT. On the expressway cruisin' at 55, he was on my ass so I gunned it and raced forward only to look in my mirror and see him still right on my ass. I pushed the SS as far as I could and he was still there...then he passed me in the other lane. Impossible I thought...but he did. We both went up a ramp and I was then behind him, so I started doing burnouts right there behind him. Smoked the tires. Then he did a burnout too! I was shocked. We went seperate ways at the light, and his girlfriend waved me goodbye out her window. I will never underestimate a Toyota again. A lesson learned. Here is a picture of my Camaro.

And then there was the Toyota Supra!  That thing had a 6-speed manual transmission.  The 6th gear was disabled in the US due to some laws.

Yeah, the Supra was one of the fastest production cars of the 90's, I remember those, and as far as so called "super Cars" go, could never have given Farrarri or Lamberghini a run for the money, but it was the "little guys" super car!
