    Nomad, anyone?

Only problem is, Chevrolet didn't make the Nomad after 57!

57 was the last 2 door version. 58 and later were 4 doors, which are still pretty cool.

And after 57, noone considered anything other than the 55 thru 57 true Nomad's, Chevrolet may have used the name, but it wasn't a true Nomad, and they didn't use the Nomad name for very long after the 57.

They made them into the 70's, but yes, I agree the sporty 55-57's are the Nomads. The later models are family wagons.

They tried to resurrect the name in the 70s, on the Vegas wagon, that is the only time I ever saw the name used after the 57 model year, at least in the US.

Chevy Vega what a piece of junk that was. The one I had the shifter locked up constantly so I was stuck in whatever gear it got stuck in and the starter safety constantly failed where you couldn't start the car We remedied that by simply carrying a bottle opener and using it to jump the starter.

    Info on Nomad here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Nomad

    Latest one.... with a story..
I'm always on the lookout for good HDRI sets to use as environments for these renders.. I was browsing the Autodesk site tutorials and found an article (with downloadable files for the project) on working with HDR photos.. What I found really nice was that I recognized the HDRI backdrop. Its taken from the Bassin du Peel area on the Lachine Canal in Montreal, where I grew up and lived before moveing west. You can see the Bonaventure Autoroute, and t5he old Five Roses grain elevators/mill buildings.. Its fun to have a HDRI set that I've actually know and have stood on..

Looks like an older Chevy or GM product.  Just a guess.  Nice work, though!

Mus, where can I find that turorial you did a few years back on connecting Poser and DS? I got a new computer and now I need to make that connection again!

Go here and download the .pdf file. It will tell you how to do it. (may have to register with sharecg.com).

    http://www.sharecg.com/v/58263/browse/3/PDF-Tutorial/multi-object-model-to-single-.pp2-UPDATED

I've read through that tutorial, but it's basically useless to me since I don't have a full version of Poser, only an older free "Debut" version. Any tips on how to rig a vehicle strictly in DAZ Studio?

I basically only used Poser 7 to move the point of origin for rotations. This way I put the rotation point right on the door and hood hinges and set the limit to stop at fully opened and to stop back at 0 when it is closed back. I then save the model as a .pp2 props file that will open in Daz. Then I open the .pp2 file in a text editor and change the name of the dial to "OPEN" OR "CLOSE". Then resave the .pp2 file. Really simple when you start doing it.

How about this "Nomad"? The 56 Pontiac Safari. Talk about a rare bird!

Not as rare as you might think, and it was called the Safari, not the Nomad, and believe it or not, it was a very different car from the Chevy Nomad, I know some of the styling ques were similar, however, unlike later GM cars, the body panels were completely different, the frame was completely different, it wasn't like the Cadillac Cimmeron was actually  a Chevy Cavalier with a fancier nameplate!

Love that old 40 Ford, I also have the Safari, one of the first GTA conversions I downloaded and was able to convert successfully in Blender.
