    I like your entry version quite a bit. The focus is on what it should be on- the creature. Nice lighting on it BTW. Good luck to you!

    Thanks, I am really focusing on lighting right now, if only I could figure out uber environments ;-)

    If you can swing it, I highly recommend Jeremy Birn's book called, Digital Lighting and Rendering. According to the book, he's been a Lighting Technical Director at Pixar since 2002, and worked on such Pixar films as Monsters University, Cars, Brave, Wall-E, The Incredibles, etc. etc. It's well written, has lots of examples and is software agnostic.
