Ouch!! My eyes!! Seriously, though. Too bright.
I agree about the palm trees but I don't think I have seen one yet that didn't look that way, no matter the vendor. My other complaint although not really a complaint is the cat tail's leaves (don't know thier official name) is repeative enough to be noticable but not enough to irritatingly noticable.
On to the great stuff!! I love willows!!!! Love Love Love! Quick render although I did change the water surface setting because I didn't like the green tint.
If you want some nice palm trees, look at Tropical Palm Trees for Daz Studio. They are resource intensive, though. I often delete all the displacement (because of the subD added for it), unless I am doing a very closeup render.
Thank you. These are what I'm talking about.
Very nice! Wishlisted!!
I used some of the Tropical Palm Trees for Daz Studio in this Kayak image I rendered with UltraScenery, where I built a modified ecology using tropical plants.
I like the way they look in the render. Did you place each palm individually?
No, I made a copy of one of the UltraScenery ecology JSON files and edited it to change out some tree props to use these palm tree props (and changed some of the other plant props, too). The I ran the UltraScenery script to generate a scene using my new ecology. It is pretty easy. Just look at the files and where you see paths to props, substitute the path to a different prop. HowieFarkes said in a post that is was OK for us to "hack" the JSON files.
You have my attention now so don't blame me for the questions, but earlier you said "They are resource intensive, though. I often delete all the displacement (because of the subD added for it), unless I am doing a very closeup render. " How did your PC perform (like how long did ultrascenery take to generate) and what setup do you have? Oh. and where do I find the tutorial to edit JSON files to add my own?
I don't have any timing on how long it took UltraScenery to run. The recent update made it faster, though. It takes minutes, not seconds to run the script, just like any other ecology.
I have only an older 6 GB graphics card that also runs two large monitors. The palm trees with displacement and surface subd are too much for it and push the render to CPU. Just deleting the displacement fixes that. The fastest and easiest way for me to remove displacement is to use Scene Optimizer, but you can do it manually in the Surfaces pane, too. If you are using something like a 2080ti, you are probably golden and don't have to worry about this kind of optimization.
I don't know any tutorial for editing JSON files. They probably exist if you look around. JSON files are just text files you can edit in any text editor. I recommend and use Notepad++. It is programming syntax, so it is really easy to screw it up. HowieFarkes gave us a very handy link to a JSON validation tool, so you can see if you've made an error. Watch the \ vs. / if you paste a file path. Be sure to make a copy before you start changing things! If it goes wrong, just delete it and no damage is done. Besides changing the props path, you will want to change the name of the ecology and the names of the preview and thumbnails, etc., so it shows up as a unique ecology in the UltraScenery list. It is all about experimentation and learning as you go. It took me a few attempts and I am still learning how to make changes. I'm not the only one trying this. Join the group!
Thank you. I have a TITAN RTX card with 24GB so I will give it a try with the displacement intact.
You should have no problem.
Just got the new bundle, beautiful as ever.
Four ideas / requests:
1) Bamboo forest for martial arts scenes
2) Forested forest with mix of trees and tree stumps plus logging roads.
3) How are you with fire? Forest fires of various sizes, small fire to confrageration covering the whole area. (Would require burned/blackened trees, flames and smoke)
4) And this is for almost any of the existing. A flat level rectangle with bare ground for buildings, survival sheds, barns, whatever. Either variable size or half a dozen sizes. Roughly average the height of its surroundings.
Thank you, keep up the great work.
Would you mind some probably silly questions barbult should I attempt this? I have those palm trees and I'd like to give it a shot ;).
Laurie
I would be happy to help if I can. Ask away! Others may be able to answer, too.
i run the script but did not work ??!!
it show this : an error occurred while reading the file .

Looks like you've installed the script into the Tango Alpha folder of your library - it needs to be in /Environments/Landscapes/UltraScenery/
it solved . Thanks HowieFarkes .
You are awesome .
Rendering some new toys! Original image is in the gallery, there is a link there for the unclothed version on my Flickr site and DeviantArt (links also in signature)
Florabelle by Maddelirium, Diversity by Lilflame and UltraScenery!
Awesome stuff! I particularly like the lighting, the figure's pose and the hair.
Cheers,
Alex.
My create times have climbed again since installing and suing the new bundle, its taking between 10-30 minutes to generate the scene, it feels its taking even longer than origanally, is this to be expected?
The last scene I just created took nearly an hour to create.
I've also noticed that if I have created a scene then create another one sometimes the first scene is deleted other times not.
How much main memory does your PC have? I would expect an application like UltraScenery to be quite a memory hogger during a scene generation. It sounds to me like your PC is swapping information back and forth between main memory and your hard disk. My generations are done on a machine with 32GB of memory and the longest its ever taken is about twelve minutes.
Cheers,
Alex.
I have 32GB and its only since the insallation of the new packs that creation times have increased, before they were between a couple of minutes to 15 at the max
Looks great.
Lake renders...
It's not a memory issue then. I'm going to do a few tests of my own, when I get a spare minute.
Cheers,
Alex.
Thanks, I would like to know if its just something on my end or what is to be expected for some reason.
Ahhhh
