Think I came down with a case of "fall fever" as I woke up today with a sore throat which has now become a full fledged chest and head cold. Ick, yuk, and ugh.

Time for some good ol' fashioned chicken soup and maybe a sandwich.

    ...and before bed, some Theraflu™.

    feel better!

I think the squirrel would say, "Say Nuts!" :cheese:
But what does the fox say? %-P

It would seem the Farmer Says, "Keep those foxes away from my chickens and ducks!" But a coyote is OK? Hmmmm...

I feel sick. I hope I feel better before I go to my doctor's appointment.

    ...not you too?

Ugh all stuffed up and congested as well as couching a lot today. Woke up late as that Theraflu stuff really knocks me out. At least got a very good night's sleep. Sore throat is gone though, so some slight improvement.

The one good thing is I can still do my job search from home on the Net. In no shape to stand around waiting for and riding on buses to meet prospective employers face to face.

...travel analysts always mention this is one of the busiest times of the year. I just can't see spending hundreds on airfare (as holidays are usually blackout times for discount fares) or petrol, losing a day or two (if driving a long distance) worth of pay, dealing with bad weather (whether on the road or in the air), traffic jams or crowded airports, delayed flights, hotel reservations, etc. for only two and a half to three days time (as Saturday/Sunday are usually the return travel days).

I guess it's one thing if you live nearby (say within 200 miles - which is about a 3½ - 4 hr drive depending on roads and conditions), but a good many people fly clear across the country.

Which is why I host dinner every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We don't have to travel on the bad roads

Due to a processing error, we're unable to deliver your order. We're sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

Dangit. Really wanted to play that game again :(

Morning. Brick and tin and slate roofs crouched against bright sun and still heat in empty streets outside my window. Might be too hot to spend much time out of aircon today :)

...all of my remaining family are east of the Divide (Missouri/Georgia) so I'd be one of those who would have to fly. The thought of being crammed in a tiny seat for several hours (most likely "middle one" by now) for a high fare and extra fees like luggage, food, etc, just does not sound appealing.

Strips of pastry arranged in a lattice on the pie top sometimes with sugar icing so long as you can still see apples, and juiced lemon, cinnamon, raisins, sultanas, mixed dried fruit etc in the filling. Sooo schweeeeet :)
