how do i photo paint at subpixel level? is there a trick?

been trying all week to make a natural lip line for hiro4. thought i'd try painting over texture template. the digital babes book has some tips on painting a skin, but they don't have any tips for lips o'naturale.

i guess last resort, could make him emo with lipstick.

resize as much as you can, then shrink again after you finish painting :)

    ohhhhhhh. clever. :)

i bought this book back in 2007, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0823016536 first time it's coming in handy.

I use Anatomica it has musculature and skeleton parts and costs next to nothing :)

I am sick. Today I put the butter in the dishwasher and a dirty butter knife in the refrigerator. Mom found it after lunch.

I think I better not do any work today, because I will just have to redo it tomorrow. :p

    preoccupied over something?

No, I just have brain fog from the virus I've caught. This is definitely the worst cold I've ever had, if it's a cold...
    Hope that's better soonest, SY.

Complaint: I installed the newest DS 4 Pro Beta to see if the Genesis 1 and 2 posing problems (after adding clothing, etc. figures would not re-pose, and/or would sometimes explode). It did fix that problem, but my favorite lights (AoA's Advanced Lights) are borked in the Beta.
Nothing lost though, 'cause the current Beta can co-exist with the current General Release.
So set up figures and pose in the Beta, light the scene in the GR?
AoA said there was an update coming for these lights...maybe a fix for that? Hopeful. :)

    There's something inherently wrong with:
    a.) The basic application api
    b.) The programmer(s)

when a bug fix breaks something else that worked fine. This seems to happen again and again with this software. It's uncanny.

Well "canny" is a word that means "shrewd" but doesn't seem to get much use in conversation these days.

First day of summer some time next week, feels like the weather is hotting up. We haz rain, and fulish dams and the chance to enjoy the water and summer this year, as far as I know no restrictions on backyard swimming pools and splashy hoses for once :)

Gore is me but bumpy stuff is out of the box, I really like all those weird Park things

Mm so a friend who used to play the stuffing out of BG2 told me about the various dragons that do show up in it (Although not where they show up, since it's "been a while")

Red - Minion, fairly evilish, arrogant and a total *** to everyone around him. [I am not amused with this.]
Green - ??? [Only told me there was one. He only saw it twice and never interacted with it before, so he doesn't know]
Black - In some dungeon. Can interact with it in two ways: Kill it, or pay it off so you can continue [No comment on this *shrugs*]
White - Says she's real nice, and asks that you get her eggs back from a group of evil dark elves. [Would prefer to see more of this in such games. Helping dragons instead of hurting them]
Shadow(?) - I think I remember something about this when I played... But he said it was some dragon(?) that had been driven insane from extended isolation or somethong [As with the black, I've got no real comment]

So yeah. I think I'll just drop roleplaying games entirely and stick to strategy games and simulations. Less pain for me there.
Grandpa liked them, my father liked them, I tried to like them - but it just hasn't been working out for me.

I don't see many "large" mods for Civ V. People keep telling me that Civilization V "isn't that bad", but vanilla gameplay only lasts for so long, and when most large scale modders aren't interested in moving onto CivV, what other options are there?

Things have moved on from the CounterStrike days maybe, most scripters I know are obsessed with the next mobile thing now, android and ios can be mesmerizing I guess. There's a lot going on the the Unity world, and Bigworld and SL mod worlds so I guess that's where the creative energy has moved to. You can make big money from mobile apps :)

    great worm :)

There are core files that need to go in the application folder, or in it's AppData or Program Data folders. Since the beta is in a different folder it doesn't have access to them - I'm not sure if reinstalling the shader will fix that but it's worth trying.

I got the fix for that earlier.
I copied/pasted the AoA shaders folder and the accompanying file folder with wth all the .ds and .dsa etc. files to their proper place in the Beta folder, so the Advanced Lights are working in the Beta now, I wasn't thinking about AoA's lights being more like plugins. Duh. :red:
    Thanks, Richard.

This particular Beta took care of some bad problems I was having with the current General Release, so in this case it was worth it.
