For PA development, a lot of times we have to use the beta to take advantage of new features.

There's a sale on Indigo right now, if anyone owns a compatible program :)
    (Maya, 3DS, SketchUp, Blender, C4D, .... )

Someone should really make an exporter for Carrara or D|S. :)

I am thinking of using the merchant resource make up packs somehow to increase the make up options I have for my characters, but I am not sure how to do it yet.

    Does DS4.6 have LIE?

Complaint: I installed the newest DS 4 Pro Beta to see if the Genesis 1 and 2 posing problems (after adding clothing, etc. figures would not re-pose, and/or would sometimes explode). It did fix that problem, but my favorite lights (AoA's Advanced Lights) are borked in the Beta.
Nothing lost though, 'cause the current Beta can co-exist with the current General Release.
So set up figures and pose in the Beta, light the scene in the GR?
AoA said there was an update coming for these lights...maybe a fix for that? Hopeful. :)

    There's something inherently wrong with:
    a.) The basic application api
    b.) The programmer(s)

when a bug fix breaks something else that worked fine. This seems to happen again and again with this software. It's uncanny.

    Dana

There are core files that need to go in the application folder, or in it's AppData or Program Data folders. Since the beta is in a different folder it doesn't have access to them - I'm not sure if reinstalling the shader will fix that but it's worth trying.

That's why I prefer to stay away from beta software. No time for bug hunting...or cleaning up after them.

    Dana
...same here. I had my fill of playing beta tester with 3 Advanced. Yeah I may be missing out on a few good "features" but the frustration of dealing with the bad ones in my experience usually outweigh any benefits gained through a beta update.

...as to the impending holiday, not sure what I'll be doing. Maybe I'll make a curry or pasta.

I have a thing for doing non-traditional holiday dinners.

Of course do need to make my Game Day Nachos as T-Day is always a football feast. Green Bay plays Detroit in the traditional matchup of the day. Most likely Flynn will get the start instead of Rodgers, and he should as he looked very good yesterday. As I mentioned he used to be Rodgers' backup, but went free agent playing in Seattle (where he lost the starting job to Russel Wilson) and Oakland before being called up by Green Bay after the second stringer QB Seneca Wallace went down with an injury two weeks ago. The advantages are, he already knows the Green Bay, playbook, the organisation, most of the players on the team, and had on field experience as a Packer, having "breakout" game back in 2011 where he threw for 480 yards and six touchdowns (against Detroit). So yes, he is capable.

Speaking of football (well, the world's version of the game) Portland fell to Salt Lake last night 0-1. They needed to score a minimum of three goals just to beat the aggregate even though they technically were in first place by points and record (one of the odd quirks of footy). Salt Lake has been Portland's bane all season as we never won a single match against them (though two ended in a draw).

Portland did score two goals in the first half, but they were both wiped out, one by a questionable "in the box foul" and the other by an offsides call. Until last night, Portland has only one home loss all season.

...wind finally calmed down here yesterday. Even though it struggled to reach 50° it felt a lot warmer.

Think I came down with a case of "fall fever" as I woke up today with a sore throat which has now become a full fledged chest and head cold. Ick, yuk, and ugh.

Time for some good ol' fashioned chicken soup and maybe a sandwich.

    ...and before bed, some Theraflu™.

Hmmm fox is tricky, they like anything they can get. I recently saved someones cat at work from a fox, was on skype to Wendy and Ski at the time , so was a live commentary. I think both sustained injury, the cat I think has fought him many times before. Was lots of "Yelp"

EDIT to add, ROFL to your attachment !!
