Really need something to open up for me before the end of the year and this commute would be ideal. On nice days I could even walk it

It looks like you live north of a small park that has a lake.

aww, sorry Kulay Wolf. I need a job so that I can spend lots of money on the Daz Store. lol

I'm waiting for HDR ProSets Yosemite Pack One to finish downloading.

...nah, you need a job so you can spend lots at NewEgg or Tiger Direct on parts to build a new computer. After that, you can spend lots of money in the Daz store.

Still living the lifestyle of the poor and unemployed here.

Applied for a couple office drone jobs at one of the local medical centres which is a short bike ride away. That would be nice as I wouldn't even have to go into downtown (and there's a great pizza joint across the street for lunch as well as a coffee shop)
No reminder bots for me either, but only this thread.

The houses are kind of close together but there are a lot of trees. It does look like a pleasant walk. I was going to ask if that van with the roof rack is yours, then I remembered you don't drive. :shut:

And an area for dogs to run without leashes. That property just at the north west corner of that park looks expensive. Big greenhouses and all. I thought maybe it was connected to the park, but the sign out front says private property. Isn't Google Maps wonderful? :-P

For me it's random. Sometimes it's this thread, sometimes it's the Freebie Challenge thread, and sometimes it goes completely silent...like the other day. >:(

A little while ago I heard what sounded like a serious accident. It sounded like it was just up the street from me...but when I called 911, the policeman said it was at exit 11. That's about a mile away. And I heard that? :bug: I'll probably see that on the news tomorrow.

...here in Portland the bullies are those Lance Wannabe cyclists in spandex who think the laws don't apply to them. Unfortunately there are no warning signs.

I've nearly been run down from behind by these idiots while walking down the pavement (Sidewalk) as they don't give any warning and they ride way too fast (usually at a speed that would be sufficient enough to be in the roadway).

Don't even try to question these fools about their behaviour unless you care to be on the receiving end of an obscenity laden tirade followed by the "lone pine" salute as they think they have the blessing of the city.

A couple years ago there was a cyclist with no lights and wearing dark clothing who blew a red light right in front of a crowded transit bus. The driver of the bus had to lock up the brakes to avoid hitting this idiot, injuring several passengers who were thrown to the floor. They still never caught the fool on the bike.

Letsee 18 tonne bus vs. maybe a 180# cyclist and bike. Gee, I wonder who wins. The sad thing is if he were hit, the transit system would have been sued. That is how powerful the (irresponsible) bike lobby is here.

...I've been considering getting a steel core walking stick.

The odd thing the city here actually allows adult cyclists to ride on the sidewalks except in Downtown (where they do it anyway on the transit mall). Most, if not all, other cities prohibit adults from riding on the sidewalks. These people don't realise they can still cause serious injury if they hit a pedestrian.
