wuh ohes weather alert for Portland.

...freeze warning here. Will get down to 28° tonight. Fortunately it will be clear. Going to stay pretty dry here (for a change) through the holiday and end of the month.

Clear but cold today, feels like 43° because of the wind. The Rockies and Plains are going to get more snow, including the areas that were buried with up to four feet by a rare early storm last month.

Milwaukee WI not even going to get above freezing for several days with a low Saturday night of 11°

...yeah. When I saw the file size for that, I winced for a moment, then realised I had high speed cable. Took maybe 10 - 12 minutes to download though the DIM.

Had I been on my old wireless connection it probably would have taken a several days provided there were no timeouts or other interruptions. I remember trying to DL one file (I think it was the original Genesis Essentials .exe) and the estimated time was 52 hours.

    ...ya der hey!

When I was growing up in Milwaukee WI, there used to be an All Polka Radio Station. There is still one all polka station out of Green Bay though it is now a streaming Net feed.

Wow... it has been a while since I posted in one of these complaint threads.

Are we really supposed to be complaining?

I forgot if that was the point... I'm good at complaining and I want to share this power...

    ...funny.

Yeah, disabled autocorrect on Word long ago when I was working on the outline for my Sci-Fi. story Every time I typed in the name of the main race or their home planet it kept changing it to Serbia(n).

Odd thing, for how I actually am working on a story that involves Serbia.

FF spell check often gives some odd if not totally off base suggestions as well.

I like auto-correct in Word. And you know, you can add a word to the dictionary if you are going to be using it a lot.

That image was one of the more "family-friendly" screw-ups on that site. Every time I browse the entries there I laugh so hard I cry.

I love the new midnight_stories Mars Suit. It reminds me of the spacesuits the workers are wearing on the Moon in 2001: A Space Odyssey when they unearth (unmoon?) the monolith. It went into my w/l until I can afford it. I have to start using my Runtime instead of making it fatter. :)

Wow... it has been a while since I posted in one of these complaint threads.

Are we really supposed to be complaining?

I forgot if that was the point... I'm good at complaining and I want to share this power...

    Today's topic:

    I hate gravity...
I know, everyone is always all, "it keeps us stuck to the planet and without it we couldn't have an atmosphere... blah, blah, blah..." Personally I'm sick of gravity. Really, do we really need it everywhere? Always making you hit concrete when you are stepping out into open spaces and stuff...
Frickin' annoying... granted there is little we can do about it at this point now that we signed the lease on the planet, but since we are destroying the damn atmosphere anyway, that was like half the point anyway.
I'm pizzed off because yesterday I blissfully ran down a flight of stairs that didn't have any actual steps, so that more or less worked out as me careening downward at high speed towards the one step that did remain (apparently for comic effect), which thanks to our old friend Mr Gravity (sounds like a fat guy competition), caused my stupid leg to slip between the step and some concrete resulting in a weird celery crunching sound...
That was really disturbing since all I had in my pocket was raw carrots and it sounded nothing like crunching carrots...
Thankfully due to my Jedi cat-like reflexes and my camera which broke my fall, all I have is a really swollen knee... and I now walk like the Hunchback of Notre Damn. (I know that is not how it is spelled... Notre Darn)...
Let me stress this... I entirely blame gravity (and the guy who removed the steps)... I had it all under control... I stepped out into space and realized there were no steps, but then somebody had to go shout "there are no steps!" or course that resulted in drawing gravity's attention leading to an awkward Wile E. Coyote moment, just before gravity had to go and get involved. I didn't even get to use my "Yikes!" sign which I've been carrying with me just for this sort of occasion.
Stupid frickin' gravity... poking its nose in where it don't belong.
To make matters worse, I recently threw away my old crutches (trust, me giving them away to charity would not have been a good deed... probably more of a reckless act or felony)... so I'm walking around using an old rake handle... I look like a younger version of Gandalf when he came back from the dead after he slew the Balrog... I imagine he was pretty sore and bent over and cursing to himself over how heavy that Balorg was...
Well, now at least I get to see my doctor again and hear him tell me "Why are you here?"... "Go to an emergency room!"
Look in my opinion, as long as I can still walk like a two thousand year old wizard, I don't have to go there... I reserve that place for fire and blood loss related injuries.
Still, pizzed off at gravity though. That and my wife... she was all like "I told you so..." Really? You told me not to walk down stairs that weren't there?... Granted that is common sense, but I'm pretty sure it was not covered in any of my recent "take better care of yourself, you are not as young as you used to be" lectures...
My age had nothing to do with it... lack of tangible steps and overanxious gravity are what did this.
    Stupid gravity!
Well, I'm gonna go now because people are wondering what the hell I've been typing on my phone for so long... that and I'm getting sick of correcting auto correct (NO! ITS BALROG- NOT BALLROOM DAMN YOU!)...
    See ya...

Coming soon: "I hate auto correct!"

    Bye.

yes gravity sucks alright, hope that starts to get better for you soon :)

the forum lost my post? Ugg. site has been slow for the past few minutes. I was complaining that I couldn't see the list of Daz and Poser sites on my Facebook profile page. I'll take another look tomorrow.
