Yeah, mine doesn't look like that, so he may have been updated.
It is very wispy hair, though. Might need thicker strands and more of them as well.
I think it is a limitation of 4.11. Seems to work fine in 4.12. But I do not love it.
here is Caspian hair applied to Boyd. I'm not loving it. Mostly, the chest hair is one long piece that goes all the way down to his anatomical elements. There is an included anatomical elements hair too- but this chest hair poked through his bikini. I had to take it into photoshop to remove everything beyond the waistband of his swimming suit The underarm hair sticks out whispily, and makes me want to pluck.
Yeah, I know, boyds arms are scary in this position. This is why I rarely do style of pose. The way studio handles muscular characters arms gets a bit funky.
The chest hair does not fit well on the pecs, either. On the left, it covers his nipple. On the right there is a large area with no hair.
i think ASE fixes some of the weirdness with the armpit. AME i think should work to fix distortion in the muscles but you would have to probably redo all the body morph with AME at a high % as the base of the morph to get the benefits of the JCMS (maybe?). (I dont know how JCMS really work).
I own both those products, but haven't noticed too much improvement in the armpits and arm region. They tend to produce their own issues like mega pointy elbows. I think an experiment is in order. to see if it looks better... or not.
I was curious so I loaded Jepes' roderick, then applied Boyd's hair and shape. Here we have Boyd super-hairy. I even removed several pieces since... It was difficult to actual clothe him with all that hair.
Oh, don't worry about that!
Haha hhah
Frontline hero's is a nice bundle: https://www.daz3d.com/frontline-heroes-bundle
Just make sure you check whether you own some of it before buying. I apparently own all but 4 items. Nevertheless it goes to a good cause so it is worth the purchase.
The outfits mostly convert pretty well using the clothing converter. The Feral Fey Set I must point out is male/male and are some nice G2M pose set can be brought forward using the G2F to G3F pose converter. Then converted using G3F to G8F pose converter or using the free pose utility which mimics g3M's shape.
The Female outfit by Midnight Stories is throwing an error when I applly the textures. You cannot apply the male textures, however, you can copy the male textures from the male set to the female set and have it work, if you need it now.
Here we have the male and female Bio Suit for G8F and G8M. It can load as a preset with the full suit, or with just the elements you want. I really like it. I love the draped feel of it- without using dForce.
The only issue I had with it, is the female textures do not apply. However you can just copy the surface of the male suit and apply it to the female suit until it gets fixed.
Here is the Firefighter outfit for G3M converted using the clothing converter. The gas mask texture has always been a bit wierd, so I did try to alter it by making it metallic. Whether it worked or not I cannot say. The outfit converts pretty well, the sleeves do collide a bit with the gloves, but nothing too bad. Overall, I'd say this converted pretty well. You'll have to place the axe by hand.
The H&C medical scrubs fit pretty well, and look good when converted using pose converter to G8M.
I did have some poke through on the robe, and with one glove, which was fairly easily remedied using the wound tool in PS. Although it is called H&C Medical Scrubs, the directory it is stored in just calls it Medical Scrubs. My peeve- inconsistent naming conventions. Nevertheless this fits pretty well, and is worth taking the time to convert.
Did you see Examiner2 thread's on the set components of that bundle? He made a small medical floor and it's pretty nice.

Also, do you know what 17th Century clothing the pants this guy is wearing are from?

Very cool!
In those clay renders, there are two sets. are you looking for the blousy pants with laces, or the narrower ones without?
These are the pants :)

G3M Sword of time https://www.daz3d.com/sword-of-time-outfit-for-genesis-3-male-s (This one comes with Daz Studio built)
Ah thanks for the update on the clothing. And congratulations on the nice male pose set.
Thank you! :D
Thanks, nice pose set.
Converting older poses to g8 is one of the things I enjoy doing when I'm not specifically interested in rendering.
It is a no brainer to convert G2,G3 poses to Genesis 8. But when you go older you have to tweak the poses more. Especially when you go from M4 to G8.
I don't really recommend converting mundane what I call 'modelling' or single character pinup poses to G8. There are tons of them already, and the ones designed for G8 look better than the converted ones do.
The poses I tend to create or convert are ones for which I don't have dozens already. Specifically the unusual or the couples poses. To me those are worth the time bringing forward, as they take much more time to create.
Before Content Paradise went under I bought a ton of Terris' very nice male couple poses made for M4. These convert nicely to G8 using existing pose utilities. As you can see, some minor tweaks to the feet and hands would be all that is needed to resave this as G8 pose.
It is best to put a primitive plane on the ground underneath your figures so you can properly align the feet with the ground plane and fix any M4 Feet funkiness. And voila. a perfectly nice pose for G8M. Since I'm not making this for sale, but for my own use, since it is Terri's I can save it out this way, and I'm done.
I've got a bunch of i13 environment pose sets I've recently aquired that I want to convert.
Those should convert easily.
Here are some nice samples of the poses included in the Frontline Heroes bundle https://www.daz3d.com/to-the-rescue-poses set by Feral Fey. There are 10 included couples pose for G2M. I really like Feral Fey's work.
I do have to say that nearly everyone does pose number 3. I think it is ubiquitous in male couple pose sets.
Poses involving kneeling figures where more of the leg is touching the ground I find are difficult for even some pa's to achieve without dropping the figure through the floor. Mostly because, the legs of G8M/F do not collide with the floor in the way a human figure which is kneeling does and there is no soft body physics. Also the foot of G8M is rarely flexible enough to lay properly against the ground, without bending at an unnatural angle. I would love to see a pose control movement that could make this look better.
This 'wounded man' pose came with a M4 set. It converts reasonably well. But I had to use the floor plane trick to make sure he was actually on the ground, not hovering inches above. Even then, there is only so much you can do with the front of the calf when it collides with the floor plane. There are some small tricks you can do, such as twisting the calf slightly. But not too much, otherwise it can look odd.
My first use of the horrifying skins product by ImagineX. I like it, but it is limited, since you can't use it as a layer over an existing skin.
I really like the little nasties here trying to get them. Too often, we always use monstrously proportioned baddies. But swarms of little critters can be just as malevolent.
Yeah, I prefer the swarming method, since they are harder to take out, and more nimble in combat.
