The dual-core Pentium computer needs more memory. :ohh:
I could install Daz Studio 4, Poser, Bryce 7 and Vue on the new computer soon. I don't feel like copying the 50 gigabyte runtime library onto my external USB drive now. I may end up leaving the runtime file on the spare drive so that I can install the drive inside the new computer. In the mean time I'll install some products using DIM on the new computer.
I installed Daz Studio 4 and Genesis 1 and two on the Pentium i3 computer. Does Genesis essentials still include the beach Multiplane Cyclorama? I could not find it on the Pentium i3 computer. I do see it on my old AMD computer though.
Here is a quick render of Genesis in the paragola with the firey Genesis light.
I rendered this using the Pentium i3. It took about 10 minutes because of the transmapped ivy.
I will use ray-traced shadows next time to see if the scene will render faster
Studio 4 and 3Delight memory usage: 1 GB
Shared video RAM ~220 MB
Update: My parents changed their mind for now. I'm stuck with the 2 GHz AMD single-core computer for a week or maybe a month. I have already moved most of my files to the other drives. Looks like I need to reinstall Daz Studio and Vue. I even bought an external USB case for the SATA drive for $30. If my parents keep the dual-core Pentium, then I'll build my own computer later in the year. At least my files are ready to move, more or less.
I was able to reinstall Daz Studio 3. I haven't moved the content library for Genesis to My Documents yet.
Laura 3 with Nova closeup.
3D Celebrity makes nice skins that come with makeup.
Similar scene in LuxRender. I need to edit the materials for the lips because the lips aren't glossy any more.
You're going to see more renders of generation 3 and 4 figures until I move all 15 GB worth of Genesis runtimes to the folder My Documents on my AMD computer. :)
Laura is floating. I should've checked the placement of Laura before I started the render. I'm going to adjust the material settings for Luxrender now.
Render Preset: Final - MLT/Bidir (interior)
Last render before I go to bed.
The left floor has a glossy material while the floor on the right has velvet material. The shadows look noisy. I'll continue to play with materials in LuxRender tomorrow.
The sphere on the right has a glass material.
stochastic progressive photon mapping
Justin and Cassie comparison.
Memory usage: 1.2 GB. But I only have two figures in the scene. :ohh: Thankfully I was using the 64 bit version of Daz Studio 4 when I created this scene.
ah.. I need to fix Cassie's left hand/arm. This is what happens when I rush through a project. lol
Uber area light with shadow samples set to 16.
Memory ussage: 1.48 GB
I still haven't installed the rest of my genesis runtime onto the new computer.
I have no new renders tonight. I am copying files from a USB 3.0 hard drive to the i3 Pentium computer.
I figured out why the copy process was slow: Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows indexing service was running at the same time.
Justin and Aven in bad light. I'll fix the scene tomorrow.
Yosemite HDRI version.
This scene took 14 minutes to render on the dual-core Pentium.
Memory usage: ~1.5 GB
Eternal sands.
This scene uses 2.5 GB of memory
i can hear the hard drive running while Windows is swapping memory from RAM to the swap file.
Justin in pink ink. Black tights are from mall girl. U rendered the scene in 3Delight render because it is too late for Luxrender.
Laura with Ashlyn texture. Ashlyn is wearing Evil Innocence's cherry dress. Some of the textures for the dress don't load. I will need to contact Evil Innocence.
Apparently, page 14 will have renders of Justin in womens' outfits.
There is no fancy lighting in this render because I didn't have time to set it up.
Memory usage: 2.1 GB
The textures that are supposed to be in the runtime folder are missing. I see the thumbnail in the content panel though. I'm going to contact Evil Innocence on Renderosity now.
Justin, Dawn and Lana.
Uber area light
Memory usage: 2 GB. Remember, I only have 4 GB installed in the dual-core Pentium computer.
photo shoot inside a badly lit elevator. I'll fix the lighting tomorrow.
Saskia, Julie, Justin
Memory usage: 1.9 GB
edited - I did apply Saskia's texture. I forgot that I did.
Justin in Party Pretty
Young teen Cassie in afternoon heat
I put a spotlight behind the camera.
3Delight render
Memory usage: 1.44 GB
Video memory usage: 375 MB
The exact same scene in Luxrender.
I forgot to edit the spotlight and materials.
instead of copying 35 GB worth of Studio 3 and Poser runtime library files onto an external drive, maybe I should download a few products from the product library to the faster computer.
Drive D is not the external drive. It is on the second internal SATA disk drive. Remember?
I just remembered that I have Poser 9.
Alisha and Ben.
edit: I forgot to crop the image.
I found a dress that fits Ben.
why are people looking at this thread? the renders aren't all that great. I guess someone is looking at Genesis and Victoria 4 in lingerie? lol
Wait until i download and install all of the props and furniture that I bought from the Daz Store. I'm still working on the elevator scene.
Victoria 4 with Dana texture in Party Pretty.
Luke with Billy texture in trendy fashion.
I should render this scene in Poser 9 to see how the skin textures will turn out.
