What the heck? From Paypal- for a lousy $10ish transaction from Daz just now?

    Payment

This transaction is currently pending compliance review. Please do not try to send the payment again until you hear from PayPal. If the compliance team has any questions for you regarding the payment, the team will reach out to you via email. Thank you in advance for your patience with this matter.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. Don't know why I said shoulder pads, those went horizontally on the shoulders. I had outfits like the one you're showing, and they weren't pointy to the extreme of that product's shoulders. I just don't like it, but it's personal preference. It's a shame because there's nice material sets with it.

I'll try to fish out a really old photo of one of my extreme ones! laugh (1970's - the decade that taste forgot)

I must agree that I'm not rushing to buy that set, despite the rather nice textures - but mainly because I have more clothing for G8F than I need (especially since getting RSSY convertors).

LOL for me it was 7th grade, those fishnet stockings.

I love that pic! The silk looks amazing. I have that light set but I don't think I've ever used it (like many other deep-sale purchases that have grabbed me) but it seems to work pretty well.

My mother drew the line at me wearing fishnets - can't think why? laugh (I think my school didn't have them on the permitted list either - even normal stockings were a bit frowned on over knee-length white socks until we turned 15)

As an ex-dressmaker of quite a few years who knows what GF8 looks like beneath that jacket, it looks to me to have puff-topped sleeves and shoulder pads (although a wire-framed view of it being worn could well prove me wrong). There is no slope to the shoulder, apart from the upward slope when GF8 puts her arms out to the side, particularly noticeable in the promo of the black jacket, where she is standing next to the dog. All that said, I don't really mind how busy the outfit is in the shoulder area and like it enough to say that I will probably buy it sooner or later.

The PayPal thing happens randomly. They put a hold on random transactions for a short time review it and pass it through. I had it happen twice last year. Nothing can be done but wait it out.

Beware of The Docks. I loaded it up for the first time today and it ate up 10GB of memory and hung up my laptop, with 16GB, for a while. I left it to finish and then rendered it did the same for another while. It eventually rendered and it released 5GB as it rendered allowing the use of the laptop.

And my Paypal is hung up, just did an order and it's spinning and no order confirmation coming through.

It's always takes some time (several minutes) for my PayPal payment to go through. The other day after a Daz payment, when I logged into PP they had me reset my password for "unusual activity" but I've been using it recently for a more varied mix of shops.

BTW, a Finnigan the Cockatiel note- only worked on it FIVE DAYS, and now he's saying "Good morning!" Yesterday morning when I went in to get him out of his cage for the day, he said, "Step up." I said, "What do you say first?" like I had the past three days (then each time I said "Good morning.")   And he replied, "Good morning!"   Then I said, "NOW you step up." And he said "Step up!"

Didn't say anything today as it's storming and he's rather perkily interested in that.   I'm now working on "It's raining!" and shot a video of the rain.

My cockatiel Rio practically goose steps onto my finger now when I tell him to "come here" I still have to chase him about before he stops running and hissing and actually agrees to climb up on my finger.

My budgies Jack & Jill now allow me to pet their chests with only minimal repeated attempts. When I do that I always say "Pretty Boy" and have noticed that when I say "Pretty Boy" (they are a girl & a boy, I guess I should have said Pretty Girl for Jill instead of Pretty Boy but Boy is easier to say for me) they have learned after three days of practice I am going to pet their chests. I think they might pick up the ability to say "Pretty Boy" after a while more as they seem to want to try vocalize something often when I say Pretty Boy. I still can't get Jack on my finger even with millet spray and Jill only with millet spray and only of I don't move to swiftly or clumsily with her on my finger. As they have full flight they just fly back to their cage top and around the room occasionally. Oddly they seem to prefer walking and climbing more than flying. Guess it's tiring.

I've been playing a YouTube video of a wolf whistle in a loop on an Android tablet for a week now and even started trying to teach myself to wolf whistle to try and clue them into an social behavior of wolf whistle but they have given no clue as to be interested in that recording at all.

The cockatiel at 15 is likely not going to learn to speak without buying a young mate for him that I teach to speak and he imitates her. Gal cockatiels are less apt to talk though. The 8 month budgies I'm working on training do seem as if they might eventually speak so I'll keep working at it.

    Ciao

Birds, especially budgies, do tend to learn to speak better if they are kept solo.  Obviously they are happier in company, but not so quick to speak human rather than budgie.

Be careful with Paypal- I FINALLY just got an email saying "Something went wrong with your payment. We know this  can be frustrating. You can still retry your payment. Go to Daz Productions and choose Pay Pal at  checkout."

So no, it didn't automatically get fixed. I just did it again and it went through, but now I am going to monitor it to be sure I don't get charged twice. Annoying. All this over $10 plus change. (I used store credit for the most part.)

Oh, and then when I tried to check out after the above message was received,  the first time it said "Unable to connect to Pay Pal gateway."

I don't have any insider information, but I wouldn't be surprised if the algorithm that flagged that transaction was because Paypal was only doing a partial payment. I'm glad you got your order in the end. What a pain in the carpal tunnel!

Yes, I knew I could make them more enthusiatic to see me for training visits if i kept on one bird to a cage but I thought since I was only going to be interacting with them directly about an hour or two a day over short 5 - 10 spans that I should keep them in their cage together. Rio has finally stopped running from me, I think the parents that gave her too me had kids that teased it a lot before the grew tired of it and then grew up. Their mom then of course took care of Rio for many years, Rio is a very gentle but grouchy and often scared bird. laughHe will get a play mate and hopefully be less grouchy and afraid. The budgies pretty much pair up all day but at night that roost usually on both sides of Rio so that is an improvement to opposite sites of the cage and fighting when I first introduced them.

Aave Nainen posted a really valuable tip about how to applya hierarchical material preset to individual garment items. It even allows applying hierarchical material presets to auto-fitted items. I never knew how to do this before.

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,887

.thanks @barbult   I put it in the Reference Links on the first page of this thread, under Hierarchial Presets (Materials)

Another image from recent sale items: A mashup of things. Light images like this at least for me take a long time to render. it would be nice to render faster.. This one could have used a little bit more render time. I should get a computer just for rendering and one for creating. :-) I tried to get the light and shadows right with this as a lot of light colors and mixing of the blues and darker shaded areas.

The new fog camera is OK. I've been working with it in a few images. On other images renders quite fast.

  • Roguey's European Syle Apartment is amazing.  I haven't spent that much time playing with it today, but it's at the level of StoneMason's best - plus almost drawers, doors, etc. work. For a first time PA this is remarabe.

Do you mean the StrangeFate's stuff thread here in the Art Forums? I just discovered it yesterday, and wish I'd been keeping up with it all along. What a great journey! (And a wonderful product!) I wish the new PA lots of sales. (I saw the cat tree, and in the cart it went! Still deciding, though. Having a budget is a real witch, at times.)
