    @worldsedge

    Here Vivian is on Genesis 8 Female, the lighting may be slightly different because in postwork I lightened her a bit and didn't write down the brightness setting. This is 85% rendered.

    Oh wow, great to know Penny isn't needed! She looks great!

    Straight out of the box not tiling or anything.  This is not all of them either but a fair sampling.  Fun to play with and will make really good special effects, planets, etc etc.  by JG so really well done as well.

    Thanks, I'm wondering what to use them on. Alien planet terrain maybe? I guess they'd be fun to play with...

    I made Lady Ollie (Mollie?) for curiosity's sake and she's pretty adorable.

    This is with FWSA Edith skin and OOT Everyday Updo hair, in the newly released Audacious Outfit and the FWSA Vampire Jewelry.

    I was kind of dissapointed in the skin. The texture around the eyes is beautiful and detailed, but the knuckles just...don't look convincing in comparison. And the bump on the lip is kind of weird, like a bunch of fat straight vertical lines. On the plus side the eyes are absolutely fantastic (even if the prominent limbal ring is a bit unusual for an older character) and the makeup selection is good.

    Not sure of the name, but she has a toony resemblance to the actress Claudia Black (she was in the later series of Stargate and another SF series whose name i cannot recall!)

    The other series was Farscape

    Ah yes, that was the one - thank you!

    @icedragonart   That should be a book cover, love the composition. All those elements together are really awesome. yes

    Thank you!  I will add it to my file of future book covers.  One of these years I might actually make some lol.

    I'm wondering with really small tiling, and putting a sheen on them, if they'd look pretty as cloth too?

    I'm going to answer a question about riding bareback on a horse, because you can do some tweaks to poses and then they'll be realistic, and here are things you need to finetune to ensure you're on the right track. Everyone rides bareback differently, but this is the basics on doing it and staying balanced / getting the best contact and communication going with the horse.

    This one is a crappy one of typical me (glasses, ponytail, baggy clothes- Stetson doesn't care what I look like and I am comfy when I'm out in the summer heat of Florida!) and using a bareback pad. Well, Stets looks good anyway. But note the leg and feet positioning, and where I have the hands placed This was taken with a friend's phone, which  wasn't very good. And yes, not only is he ridden bareback, but also bitless. The furred noseband (pampered!) is the only guidance.  Such a good boy!

    Great tips, I would never have known! I've ridden horses with a saddle but never bareback. And I'm sure there is a "DAZ figure" underneath your clothes, probably one of the Victorias.

    Did you get PD Two-Tone Iray Shader Presets? I retextured all the clothing and accessories in these images with them.

    Those are lovely, @barbult - I am so very tempted to buy those shader presets but I'm desperately trying to hang on to my store credit for later this month (I'm on my May budget already).

    I snagged those shaders as fast as I could lol.  She does great work!  Those look really good, really love the dress!

    It is hard to see what is going on, but it is pretty funny.

    If you have a blue square blocking it, just hit the full screen at the corner of the video.

    Nothing was blocking it, but it was very jerky and zoomed in so far it was hard to get context at first.

    @icedragonart - Sonja, that's a fantastic render!

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,887

    @barbult  Somehow missed the shader post. Those are very pretty and I thought they looked quite versatile in the promo images too.

  • barbultbarbult Posts: 24,244

    Thank you Melanie, Sonya and Novica for the image comments. I like all the PD shaders.

    Nice use of those shaders. They look great Barbult, and I like what you did on that man’s suit.

    https://www.daz3d.com/penny-8 I also used the https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-audacious-outfit-textures for the dress.

    One of the few times I don't save a project file and Daz crashed on me after almost 9 hours on this image that I started over night. Lucky for me before I started daz again. I looked in my C:\Users\MyFolder\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4\temp\render and found the image. If this happens to you check that folder for an image named similr to r.png etc. You can copy it to another folder then start daz. So, here is that saved image. Opend in photoshop and saved as *.jpg. Zooming in you can see tonsils. :-)

    Good to know, but hate that happened to you. She looks spunky!

    I won't be online much today, big storms headed in and I am moving furniture out the front door and on around to the garage so I have to hustle. Everyone stay safe today that's in the line of those storms. Wow, what a front! Three tornadoes this morhing around 4am, now there's two. One Alabama, One Mississippi, and New Orleans getting hail. It's extremely slow moving too.

    Don't hurt yourself @Novica!

    We are in the middle of an ice storm here. I am going to work on my latest male fae, Whimsy, until I lose power.

    I'm careful. Although I'm 61, I moved dressers, chest of drawers, bookcases- all by myself (hubby out of town) last week. This is a light wicker couch and other wicker items. A lot better than wood and veneer woods! :)  He and one of my sons are actually driving down from Connecticut through all this mess, to Pensacola. Supposed to get here about 11pm tonight, when the worst of it hits here. Figures.

    Right now though...I'm eating pizza.

    What a lovely render of Penny 8!

    Also thank you for the side note of where you found your "lost" render. I had no idea that you could recover a render in the temp folder. Studio crashed close to the completion of a render yesterday evening and I was resigned to the idea of rerendering the image. But I found it! Thanks to you! smiley

    @cismic and
    @Stormlyght

    This came up in the "Why has Studio Started Crashing So Often" thread, and @Taoz posted a script that will automatically save the r.png to a backup folder, if there is one, and then start Daz Studio. It's for Windows and does require Net 4.0 is installed. You can find the script here, if you're interested.

    It seems like a no-brainer, to me, something like that should be built into DS

    Thank you for that. I had posted in the thread when it first started but hadn't been back to visit it several days.

    @Stormlyght, You're welcome. I'm glad I could help. (It's so impossible to keep up with all the threads!)
