well dang! i didn't know you could do that! i do it novica's way - type in the dimensions to make it smaller. LOL
I did not know you could do this either.
Well it's not working for me. I assume she means after the image is loaded in the post, and you're editing it. When I click on the image, it turns blue, but I can't select the corners. What am I doing wrong? (Edit- missed your post the previous page. You are hitting the quotation marks?
Ah. Doesn't work for me either. I can dbl click it and the dialogue pops up so i can manually change the dimensions. But if i left click once on the image, there's no outline with points to drag it smaller. I use chrome, wonderif that makes a differnece?
I use Chrome too. Hitting the quotation marks didn't do it either. Now I feel totally deprived.
I can do it, and I'm using Firefox.
Yes I use firefox as well. Interesting that it varies between browsers. I did not know that.
EEEEEEK. I'm over 18,000 posts. (I blame IceDragonArt. Her tidbit on resizing images put me over the milestone. I simply HAD to try resizing out.)
To me, it's extremely annoying when characters zip to World Center for a pose preset. The Fugazi Jacuzzi Paradise and Poses product does exactly that. The workaround: Hold down CTRL and uncheck the translations when the popup appears.
For $4.49 Josette Pumps (Gen3F) is in Fast Grab. It's a very elegant, classic pump. Rachel High Heel Shoes is another one. I don't like the shoes such as the Liv High Heels or Magda Pumps because of the rocking upward toes. Balancing on those shoes is just too unrealistic for me, particularly with the ultra high heel.
Josette Pumps has a wide range of colors and materials, Sheen and Suede, and 4 different bottom colors too.
I made Lady Ollie (Mollie?) for curiosity's sake and she's pretty adorable.
This is with FWSA Edith skin and OOT Everyday Updo hair, in the newly released Audacious Outfit and the FWSA Vampire Jewelry.
I was kind of dissapointed in the skin. The texture around the eyes is beautiful and detailed, but the knuckles just...don't look convincing in comparison. And the bump on the lip is kind of weird, like a bunch of fat straight vertical lines. On the plus side the eyes are absolutely fantastic (even if the prominent limbal ring is a bit unusual for an older character) and the makeup selection is good.
She's wonderful! - and as I thought she might, (M)Ollie does look an awful lot like one of my actual rl neighbours (except the skin, which isn't old enough).
Maybe I should spend a bit of time transferring Ollie to G8F this weekend, and not wait for Daz *g*
@agent unawares Your Mollie reminds me a bit of actress Allison Janney, (Mom, West Wing) if a bit more stylized and caricature. It's in the eyes. You definitey made Ollie look good as a woman!
@agentunawares your Mollie is amazing
Definitely agree! (M)Ollie is rocking it! I see what you mean about the knuckles and the eyes. The eyes are very soulful but the knuckles need aging.
The other way to work around this is to put every character in their own group, and make sure you only move the group when moving them around the scene. That way the character is always at (0,0,0) relative to the group, so poses won't move them anywhere else.
The fringe benefit of this approach is that if you make the group non-visible, the character and all their hair, clothes, etc. become non-visible - it's a quick way to hide out-of-shot characters when working on a scene.
I gotta be honest: if Daz was ever bold enough to release a female character like this, I would snap her up without a second thought. She's beautiful!
Not sure of the name, but she has a toony resemblance to the actress Claudia Black (she was in the later series of Stargate and another SF series whose name i cannot recall!)
Wow! I was actually wondering how Ollie would transfer, since his matching lady hasn't shown up yet. Would love it if Daz produced a lady like this!
The other series was Farscape
I'm going to answer a question about riding bareback on a horse, because you can do some tweaks to poses and then they'll be realistic, and here are things you need to finetune to ensure you're on the right track. Everyone rides bareback differently, but this is the basics on doing it and staying balanced / getting the best contact and communication going with the horse.
You try not to turn your feet out a lot when riding bareback. Your heels go down, even if it's not as much as in the stirrups, because that keeps your legs firm and contoured to the horse, and your toes face forward. If you're more relaxed, your heel doesn't go down, but your toes still face forward. They may even point down (although you lose more contact with the horse) because frankly, keeping your heel down all the time can be tiring.
Your feet optimally don't point to the sides, and if they do, your knees definitely do NOT! They face forward, particularly at a TROT. If your feet aren't forward and your knees are turned to the side, it would make your character physically in pain and definitely not doing what you're supposed to do to give the horse the right body cues. You don't bang up and down on the back, you have to have the right body contact and use your seat and legs to convey what you want him to do. It also gives you uncomfortable ankle strain when both the feet and knees are turned out to the side.
And there's definitely no slouching. You may lean slightly forward, but that lean must match what your legs and seat are telling the horse to do. If your legs are really relaxed, you won't be leaning forward. (See below. Leaning should be the last resort.) Your shoulders stay relaxed but slightly back, so your elbows are at your sides. And you grip the reins, not clutch them, and all fingers have contact. (FYI, get your hands with the reins approximately at the pommel of the saddle, not way-forward on the neck (that's for jumping or when the horse needs to extend forward. If you have a horse stepping over something and looking down, you would move the rein hand(s) forward.)
The pointers above are the basics- feet point forward, heels down or slightly down. Knees point forward. Reins have contact with all fingers and may exit between your pinky and ring finger, so turning your hand exerts pressure on the reins. They also exit between your pointer and thumb, so reins run through your fingers. Your seat should be with your back comfortably straight, you definitely don't slouch forward. (Getting even more technical, your HIPS push weight forward using your lower abdomen thrusting out. You don't start with your shoulders and upper body.) Your shoulder, elbow, and heel should line up, whether you're bareback or in the saddle.
Hope this helps. Everyone rides differently but if you know nothing about horses and want to pose a figure yourself, this will give you a good starting point , or you can tweak existing poses which get you off to a good start.
Here are two of the riders from our barn, your posture would be about the same with or without a saddle.
This one is a crappy one of typical me (glasses, ponytail, baggy clothes- Stetson doesn't care what I look like and I am comfy when I'm out in the summer heat of Florida!) and using a bareback pad. Well, Stets looks good anyway. But note the leg and feet positioning, and where I have the hands placed This was taken with a friend's phone, which wasn't very good. And yes, not only is he ridden bareback, but also bitless. The furred noseband (pampered!) is the only guidance. Such a good boy!
Thanks for the nice comments, guys. I wish DAZ would create a counterpart for Ollie too.
P3D Elaina for Penny 8 Santana Hair (Gen8F)
Santana Hair hasn't been mentioned much, if at all, and there are so many neat morphs (as usual from EmmaAndJordi) that you may want to take a peek if you don't have this hair. The first one, I left the pigtail at default, so you can see the difference when you bring the pigtail in, twist it, and make if fuller in the second picture. Looks like a totally different hairstyle!
Santana Hair has the option (preset) to hide the forehead band, you don't even need to go into Surfaces to do it. And the band has a lot of material options. Go EJ!
@Novica, Stetson is beautiful! His tail goes all the way to the ground? It must be fun keeping it clean of debris. I can see why you're so proud of your boy. As for the rider, she looks fine to me. (Wish I looked that good. But then, I don't ride horses. Don't get much exercise either, though that's gonna change with hubby home 24/7 come summer. Looks like there are daily walks in my future!)
Wow, Stetson is gorgeous.
LOL That baggy shirt makes me look about 30 pounds heavier, (just look at my arms and ignore the rest of me) but thanks!
Agent Unawares M Ollie looks fantastic! Great job on that.
My idea of riding bareback is full body contact, holding on with all four limbs and praying the horse doesn't take off! Lol I am fine riding in a saddle but for some reason the idea of riding without scares me to death. The tips are much appreciated though!
I put my friend on Stetson bareback (she hadn't ridden a horse in over 20 years, and it was a lead-around horse only) and walked him around the round pen. She loved feeling what he was doing. When she went in the saddle, she said she didn't feel like she had as much control, because of the lack of awareness of feeling his weight shift right before he stopped or turned. Stetson has a gorgeous sitting trot (no bouncing for the rider at all) and then going into a canter is smooth as silk (like a rocking chair.)
So for horses that have a jarring trot, I wouldn't be riding bareback much either! Particularly the ones which are thinner. Stetson will be losing weight (he's too fat now. That picture is last summer) but he's rounded and comfy to ride.
"Furred noseband" had me laughing for quite a while. Pampered indeed! And you both look great.
If I ever ride bareback, it will be in the style icedragonart described, no doubt.
I wanted to show off Suzy for G8F. I think she is a lovely character and very versatile.
