    Thanks, Algovincian!

I'm starting a drawing class (and, additionally, a 3d-coat class) and it's fascinating seeing how much my understanding of anatomy and expression has improved from my pre-Daz days.  I didn't at first really even consider that my time on Daz would influence my non-Daz visual art skills. But they have. It's cool.

I wanted to stick these links to an experiment here so I don’t lose them. Basically I wanted to see how much of the manga ‘look’was Big Eyes Small Mouth and how much was the paneling/layout/etc.  so I redid a few pages from the manga Noragami with unfiltered Daz renders.

    And originals at

I've picked up your story and am looking forward to reading it.  It may be a bit before I get to it but it looks very interesting!

Thanks so much, IceDragon! And Saphirewild!

I'm thinking about using Vue to do some themed pictures. Pretty men in pretty landscapes. I picked up Rarestone's facial morphs and I'm really impressed by them.

Figuring out human skin in Vue is a bit challenging. I'm wondering if it matters if I start my export with iray or 3dl maps....

Anyhow, I decided to see if I could make an HDRI in Vue. It isn't great but it's not bad. A comparison between similar scenes, one exporting a model to Vue and one rendering an image to use in Daz3d.

Back to my secret home, to curl up and hide.

I need to figure out how to make the 'poof' of an exploding monster around this gem. Also, to trim off the ring. I wish I had more gem shards. I guess making them in 3d-coat is probably pretty trivial.

I'm working on another book cover for the novel I'm finishing up. I guess I should be making these before I even get started writing so I can do publicity right, but I never have ideas. I haven't actually used Studio much since the last cover I made (https://amzn.to/2YjmbDS)

Anyhow, I thought I'd document the process as a way of saying hi again.

This is me working on the base pose. The models are not right (although they're closer than they were) and the clothing will be adjusted....

One problem I think I had with the Fury Convergence cover was that I was unwilling to crop into the actual image even if it made the heroes occupy more space on the cover. Trying to get around that now.
