Decided today would be a RRRR contest render work day. Still working on the blooming Environment, then will come lots of Parenting of props to figures. Then I will need to do some Surface work on some items. All in all it will be a long and hopefully productive day. Not that I plan on winning but I'm going to PUSH my DS only skills as far as I can. I pride myself on as little postwork as possible.
Yes, I like to let my 3D app do the work, too. Taking to Photoshop sometimes adds a layer of "fake" about a render and my skills aren't high enough to hide that. Also, having seen your work I sometimes feel that you don't know how good at it you are. I like your stuff.
I think we should do some renders and post them on CGTalk just to see how fast we get set alight! But that's just the naughty boy in me showing his face!
Not sure I'll get much rendering done today, now that I've got the house looking reasonalby clean and tidy I want to keep on top of it. It's so much easier without Daniel here.
Funny story from yesterday: When Daniel moved out last Friday he put on Facebook "I am free, I have a life now, and am free from that fat b****** forever!" (except he didn't censor the word following 'fat'). And I thought fair enough, let him be free, I feel quite free of him too.
So, guess which fat b****** he came running to yesterday when he missed his last bus back to his new home! HA! And I was benevolent, gave him a lift back, but told him not to make a regular thing of it. On top of everything else, petrol isn't cheap!
How is everyone today? I'm still feeling a bit off kilter but I think I'm getting better.

I got more housework done than I thought, so I'm going to play with Carrara a bit when I've taken Carole to work and picked Jade up from her School thingo. She does some kind of choir thing on a Thursday. Then she goes out to youth club later, so I should be able to get on with something.
Am excited. Thinking of doing a Millennium Dragon Versus Mestopholes Dragon thing. Might use DS or Carrara, not sure. Since there are DS mats for both, I might use them just for comparison.

As for me I got a good bit done yesterday but still have lot's to do for the RRRR render. I got the Set finished and my Air power set up and tested. Today will be ground forces and then troops. See a theme yet?
I'm also to new at PS to do very good at Postwork Barry.

I saw on one of your pictures from a while ago that you made a superhero fire lightning from his hand. You said in the thread that you made the lightning via postwork, and it looked good. One way to improve further on that would be to just add a low yield point light to the palm of the hand where the lightning would be coming from. I am learning the fine arts of making lighting effects and it's SO much fun.
I dod that when I make lighting bolts in Bryce, especially if I have them coming from volumetric clouds. Gives a nice realistic effect.

but damned if I can figure out why!

DAZ is really getting sneaky. As I was downloading my diner tonight, I was think that I'm not going to buy anything else for a month or two. Finished downloading, went to check my mail, and BAM got hit with this coupon. Now I HAVE to buy something else. Or I could just go to my doctor and ask her to remove the bug that DAZ secretly implanted in my brain. That ought be good for getting me a bed in the psycho ward.
OH Man!! I so got to get something. The list is NICE!!
EDIT: My RRRR render is a PITA my lighting is NOT working!! ARGH!!!!

It's very nice to get the discount, so don't think I'm complaining about that, but seriously, this is ME we're talking about, and they send me a mail saying "We’ve noticed you haven’t been by in a while, and frankly, we miss you!"
COME ON GUYS, I buy something a couple of times a week, I post on your forums and I fairly frequently PM your admins just to say hello, and you say I haven't been by in a while? Clearly you're paying loads of attention to your loyal customers!
And the fact that I bought a bunch of DO stuff last night before this mail came through has nothing to do with my grump. No, nothing. At all. Really.

On the plus side, I did finally get two sets of clothing I've been after for a while but were rather expensive for my poxy budget. These are the Cheyenne sets for M4 and V4. Lovely sets and there are quite a few texture variations for them. They're normally about $20 each but they're on offer at 70% off so I nabbed 'em.
