Yeh, and doesn't even work with tokens,  It makes it nearly worthless.

    Certainly feels that way.

Though it's also in line with Daz's recent offerings in general.

Makes sense: if you have 2 new releases in your cart, you'd get 70% off the featured artists (and you could also use tokens on top of that), so applying the coupon will force it to only 65%.

  • davesodaveso Posts: 7,016

yeah .. I saw that 65% and went, maybe I can use my tokens. But NO, they don;t stack. I let my membership expire, that new deal was bad enough, and now they kicking sand in my face, over and over. As well as the prices forever climbing. There might not be another sale for me.

  • WolfwoodWolfwood Posts: 740

It's all a big mess. The base 50% for artist store is just not there at all and is the exact same 65% with code.

The other with code that requires buy in, is almost the same list too. This one could had been good if the buy in wasn't that expensive (imo).

And nothing stacks. Someone messed up a bit today i think.

Still waiting for Gift Card Sale.

Too bad. I have a lot of aeon soul to catch up with.

So my guess is Black Friday might suck this time with the possibility of the cyber Monday blowing it away because they trying to make up on sales for how bad the leadup and sale goes. We'll wait and see ofcourse. For all intensive purposes that banner message was pretty insulting if someone thought it was a legit deal. When I get banner messages I get excited for some legitimate bonus discount, so reading it to find out it makes my cart worse is just a waste of my time and hopes. Like having someone open up a gift to just find out it's a jokes on you message with no actual gift inside.

And ALL of these specials being tied to separate codes lately has been really lame. They do this in bouts where you can't stack any sales or daz coupons because everything is its own code, then nothing uses a code for a while and most everything stacks. Here's hoping the stuff later in the year is actually good for stacking with your coupons.

Because almost all good deals this month required a coupon, I still have both of my Daz+ coupons left, and I have a strong suspicion they'll end up expiring. This would be the first time ever since I'm a member, and it definitely lowers the value of being a member. Which, in turn, when the reneval comes, will make me real hard whether I want to renew at all. Daz can't offer member coupons as a benefit and then make the coupons almost unusable (or usable only in the situation when other discounts would make it a better deal anyway).

At this stage, I doubt Black Friday will be exciting at all, and I am not looking forward to December sales. Last year, I had to buy something daily to keep my discount, and I'm not sure it was worth it, but I was happy enough. This year? Unless December sale starts with a real bang, I'm definitely not buying daily, and once you don't build your discount from the start, the whole sale is much less appealing. But, of course, Daz can change things around for this year—sadly, so far, all the changes seem to have been for worse.

I haven't bought anything here since Oct 15th, it seems like that trend will continue because not dealing with these silly issues just to buy soemthing I probably didn't need anyway is an actualy stress relief. Though it does make for some interesting reading. wink

Somehow, I managed to use the $10 off $25 at the very end of the Premier (or whatever Daz called the big October sale this year, on one of the rare days where Still New triggered discounts. https://www.daz3d.com/nautilisian-for-genesis-9, which is New tagged, was one of the $1 Doorbusters. So I bought it plus a bunch of my WL stuff. I was very surprised that everything - recent/classic/legacy, Still New, & Premier coupon - stacked. All told, it was around 90%.

Oddly, it's the $10 off DOs I haven't been able to use. Right now few DOs are on sale.

I did fairly well last December, although I didn't buy everyday; maybe 60% of the time. I only did "Pick the free or $3 DO," which often seemed to come from your WL and ignored most other promos. There were a lot of M4/V4 era on sale for $1-2 most days and I usually used them as buy-ins. (I love updating them with a combo of the RSSY Gen4>G3 clothing converter, RSSY 3DL>Iray converter, & my collection of Iray shaders.)

I still haven't decided if I am going to keep a paid membership past early January. How the December holiday sale plays out will be the deciding factor. Even if it is good, I may still take a break until at least March Madness (if MM is still A Thing in 2025.)

Yeah, this was me last month. Thank goodness my membership was a sincerely discounted yearly thing (still) because otherwise I would've lost money. As it was, I probably roughly broke even.

I'm looking forward to the PA freebies. We'll see about the rest of it. Overall it'd probably be a better deal if I waited for a sale that I could pick and choose and stack without gambling, since I'm past that getting-started stage where I need a ton of stuff before I can do anything I want to do. I've also embraced the "good enough" render, where I know there's a part or two missing, but I can always re-run it later when the missing part drops to my price range.

The excitement and enthusiasm is pretty well gone for me with the acquisition end of things, which is sad after so little time, but... reap what you sow, Daz.

Two weeks of bad sales to expire everyone's banked tokens? :P

Cyber monday will probably be lit! (If I have any budget left from other shops!)

If none of the BF/CM sales pan out this time, likely to be more deals around Christmas/Newyears. Daz has been good this year at having periodic bargains, even if they don't always coincide with holidays. Great deals here in October, early November, etc.

a thought just hit me. My Premiere expired on the 22nd. I received an email stating this. There was no offer of a discount to resubscribe. Nothing. Not even a free 20 year old V3 product. Too bad. Its probably the first time I've never had a discount on the PC, DAZ+ membership.

I have 20 tokens right now. 8 expire today and the rest on Thursday. Might be a total loss on these babies. I was hoping for an early Black Friday deal or two, but not so far. By Friday they will be gone, which will also contain myself from buying, unless the discounting is more than 70% without tokens or coupons.

An aside. There were no new DAZ+ items today either. Their pricing is way higher without a membership, so they're off the table for me as well.

The discounts appear in cart, not on the product page. I just tried in a private window and the 50% was in effect with just the PA item in cart.

I did manage to affectively use my DO coupon to get the Lycan9 add on and another item for a few cents less than the $10 coupon which I was very happy with. What looks like might end up getting wasted is my 10 off 25 coupon and my last 8 tokens which expire on Friday.

Maybe Thursday will bring a really good daz core 9 Native American male character. If not that maybe a scene with shoppers being trampled trying to get the newest version of tickle me elmo or high thread count cotton sheets.

I heard of gigapixel but did not realize Topaz was the company that made it. Do you have by chance any experience with ON1 or the Topaz suite? Do you go with one or the other, or is there a benefit of having both sets of software? Looking for some more tools to make my daz creations fancier while waiting for another Daz sale. Lol

i haven't used either recently. On 1 seems a lot more interested in replacing backgrounds and such - I have an older version and get the emails. The topaz product seems more interested in improving what you shot - noise removal, improves focus clarity etc. both could be useful for 3D artists. For processing t actual photos, I'd give topaz a try. For exercising creative license, I'd probably pick on 1.

ON1 has many filters you can mix and match that can make renders look more photo realistic and/or artistic. Meant for photographers but works great on renders too. If you use separate backgrounds, it can make the image look more homogenous. I have older versions but it seems the new version has much more AI, some similar to new Photoshop. Removing/replacing things, changing the sky, removing power lines, simpler masking, stuff like that. Can also work on renders or bad AI images that have bad hands or weird shapes and artifacts you want to remove/replace. I have older versions of Topaz that used to have great filters like simplify that can give a flat toon look and other artistic filters but those are all legacy now and now it seems the new version is mostly useful only for upscaling images and video and using AI to fill in and remove pixelation. It all adds to your creative toolbox if you create digital art or video for more than just a hobby.
