Sure when funds are low for me no budget for that this month sorry to say!!!!
Unless some sweet little fairly was to GC me then there is no way to get these this month :(
I'm kinda in the same situation. Things are very tight for me and I have to pass up Daz deals...
Bummer.
Be sure to check out the categorizing tutorial I wrote for you.
Oh yes I am on my way there now to read it!!!
Here is me messing around with a new freebie from Daz 3D store and improving my Gimp skills.
A Chance Meeting
Hi, Saphirewild -
I'm working on a lighting tutorial to do sunset lighting for your Down on the Farm scene. I would like to address a couple of fixes to the render before we get started.
Fix the Ground. You have hard edges where the ground abruptly ends on the left and right and in the back. You can fix that by loading 5 more ground objects: (a) move one to the right and another to the left. Of the three that are left, move one directly back in line with your original, and the other two to the left and right for the sides. You don't want to cover the whole sky, so the back ground objects maybe half covered by the ones in the front.
Camera Angle. Lower your camera and point it straight back. Make your cameraman look like he's standing on the ground instead of a ladder. This will let more of the background photo show.
Hiding the Rear Edge. You will need some objects to cover the rear edge so we can't see that it is abruptly ending. If you have a barn or structure like that, you can add it, plus any plants. Look through your content. If something came with a tree, you can use some of those. Scale it small and lower it to make it a bush. Make use of some barrels, boxes, pallets and whatever you have to stack and cover that edge.
Sunset Background Picture. Here's the link to the sunset picture we'll be using from Pixabay. It's royalty free. If you haven't discovered Pixabay yet, then sign up and have lots of fun. I like this one because the light is off to one side, where most sunset pictures will have the sun directly behind, which isn't the best for lighting a Daz scene. You will need to change your ratio on the Render tab to 1.5:1 to match this picture.

Glowing Clothes. It looks like the white clothes are glowing on the woman petting the pig. Use your Surface Selection tool and select the blouse and open up the surfaces tab. Check the Ambient Strength. If it is above 0, it shouldn't be. Set this to zero. You can set the Diffuse to 100%. This will calm it down.
Example. I put together a scene that I will be using to make my screen prints (default lighting only). Fortunately I have the Ranch Environment so we have the same ground and lamps. This will give you some ideas on how to hide the edges of the ground. Play around with your camera angle until you see the hills showing in the background picture. That will give it the appearance of a longer horizon.
Ok Dracorn am gonna work on that this weekend as much as I can because my Grandchildren are going to be here tomorrow for the weekend.
I was working in GIMP today messing around with filters and text took my avatar pic and dressed it up some!!
That would work very much better, especially at avatar size, if the maple leaf wasn't the same colour as the dress. and at full size the feet would be better defined if there was a difference between the sole of the shoes and the top so they made some sort of sense. at the moment they look quite weird, especially as she seems to be floating in the air, not standing on anything. There are soft shadows on the wall, but none on the ground.
Thanks for the feedback Chohole, I am going to be taking it back into Daz when I get the chance for sure.
That was one of the first attempta at IRay!!
I was just messing around in GIMP to practice a bit and see what it had to offer the render.
I actually really like the leather look of the dress.
Thanks Sonja I used one of Parrots Leather shaders on it then colored it in Gimp.
That was a hard task for me to figure out just how to do it right, took me about an hour to get it just right.
May I suggest something? The toes of the shoes are bent downwards-most high heels have the toe angled upward to generate a gentle slope from the ball of the foot to the outer edge. Maybe raise her toes a little to match how the shoe would look (since most of those types of shoes have hard enough soles not to bend at the toe much) and have her rest on more of the middle of the ball of her foot?
.......don't ask how I know. ;) I just do.
I won't ask then Darwin........but still courious though......lolz
I know like I told Chohole, that was 1 of my first attempts at IRay so was more foucused on other things besides posings besides was major newbie when that was made.
I am gonna redo this when I get a chance and will take your suggestion under advisement
Ah, but you're SO right about the toes! Of course, it's going to kill me not to ask, but I won't! ;)
I know right KM it is gonna kill me too not to ask!!!
I like the pouty-kissy 'tude. I can't see it in the tiny avatar.
Thanks for the nice comment Dracorn!! I thought it was so a Canadian thing lol
Here is a couple test renders of the new freebie Items from Daz Store!!!
Those are very interesting, Saph! I like the designs and colors in this.
Why thank you Darwin, that means a lot coming from you!!!
Here is 3 renders I did for Darwin to check out his.......wait for it....................hunky Evan charactor!!!!
Here is yet another render of Mr. Evan and the newest adventure with a Dragon nipping at his head.
Testing out IRay once again!!!
Titled: What Is That On The Ground?
Nice job! I really like the Dragon chasing Evan!
Nice one, up there with Evan hunching on the flower bench but that last one had me cracking, wither their kind of nerdy look!
Messing around once again with IRay trying to figure out just how to get the lighting right,
Thanks Sonja and Linwelly for the nice comments, plz feel free to give advice and/or pick my renders apart, that is the way I am gonna learn!!
Was working on Dracorns Tutorial on Lighting for 3Delight and this is what I came up with, I would love to have some advice or comments on this piece plz
That's pretty darn good Saphire! The only thing I'm having a hard time with is his outfit. Because its all the same color and a dark color and he is sitting down it blends together around his middle. A slightly different color pants or shirt, or even just a lighter color trim would do the trick to help his legs, waist and chest not blend together so much. The lighting looks good I like that you added a bit of blue to it. Is the background supposed to be speckled?
