She is good, the makeup is great, but I'll wait for more DO G9 female characters to become available as I need to be more picky now.
Josie 9 is a Daz Original, doesn't say anything else. There is no indication that Josie 9 is a contracted product or not, so as a Daz Original "Base Figure" I'm expecting 8K textures per the Gensis 9 adverising.
but it's not 8K textures. it's whatever textures with a 8K normal map applied. the Josie 9 prodcut description indiates that the textures included for Josie 9 are

None of the Joesie 9 promo pictures indicate what the texture base of 4Kx4K look like wihtout the 8k normal - looks like 2 of the promo picutres skins are higher detail than other promo picutes but NO indication on the promo pictures at all to diferentuate what the Josie 9 Base textures look like out of the box. prodcut descriptin states "05 Makeup Options", uh are there 1-4 Options? no promo pic indicating the makeup options at all, doesn't indicate other lip colors or options.
If I have the Gensis 9 essentials that have the 8K Normal, I shouldn't expect 8K textures on ANY product then? When I read 8K texutres I expect 8000x8000 textures that can be resized dow to 4K or 2K based on my needs (would be a nice inclusioin to products to have all 3 sets of 8K, 4K, 2K included with MAT so I could do close up, med shots and distance shots nd better rendering times for Daz Studio (can manually resize txturs in a 3rd party image editing software package but make Daz Studio users lives easier ).
So are all the promo picutres with the HD options enabled? can't even tell what's HD or not. can't export out the HD to other aplications so HD is NOT a selling point to me at all and the product has to show what IS and what ISN'T HD so I can make better purchaisng decisions based on my needs - THIS product is HD and Daz Studio, THIS Product non HD can be used in 3rd part 3d software non HD.
quite honstly this looks like Josie 8 cloned shape to Gensis 9 with a a 8K normal applied, I can do this in 15 minutes at no cost to me (I own Josie 8 product already). Promo shots don't even have the Daz Studio logo so are they all post worked?

Different shape is good for some vairiety when mixing, but the lack of HD reduces options so I expect to pay less, if I bother to buy.
Similarly, i'd rather consider the bundle for the microphones and the expressives. Adding up with interactive licenses at good/reasonable prices still would not make the bundle a clear buy, as much of the stuff is rather slightly off or redundant. (The other teen ok, night club maybe, maybe some of the props.)
As mentioned by others, the incentive actually is that three bundles, which i have to check now for.

I am quite disappointed with Josie 9.
I love her face and body, but I am not impressed with the lack of eye textures or makeup options.
All you get is the doll with 5 makeup options.
The regular price would be 59.99, I mean, come on, so much money for so little?
I do really like G9 and I am on the train, but from now on I am very picky when it comes to buying because those prices are just crazy.
I think that a limited number of make-up options is quite typical of Daz Name characters.

I can not really afford to buy here as I used too, if I want to be able to pay all my bills with how tight the money is now, as you said.
So I will be picky, and my spending here will be really scaled back.
None of my choices worked, so ... no incentive there.
I had previous punches from Monday & Tuesday and when I added the Z poses, the total of the two was less than the bundle alone. It came out to $64.57 for the two combined, $57.32 for the bundle and $7.35 for the poses. I got two mega bundles and one larger normal bundle free.
So I did get the Josie bundle because of the free mega bundles but I'm not impressed with the bundle at all except for the hair. How many sets of cat ears do we need? And all outfits have the same tacky textures? I have a zillion shaders so it's not really a problem, but still... It could have come with more detailed textures individual to each product without the same animal print. Also, the one thing I need for G9 are shoes and the shoes do not seem very well made to me. The sandals look wonky and two of the boots are very plain, lacking details. The poses seem dependent on instruments and it doesn't say which instruments work best and it will be hard to figure out which instruments to use and to pose them exactly right. Should have been for a specific product with hierarchical poses. If it wasn't for the free G8 mega bundles, I never would have purchased anything except the Chantelle hairs.
Not my favorite character. Seems very basic, not HD enough, and lacking realism.
Interesting, I supposedly (i.e. I "should" have) have the same discount. I bought "punch" items both Monday and Tuesday (actually i kept the punches going starting on Friday) and have DAZ+. My discount is $66.14 for the Mega Bundle and $8.48 for the Z poses

I've been looking at her some more... those lips are a bit much, I have to say.
Josie 9 doesn't even have any HD? Ignoring the repeated marketing bullet point of "8k materials" for now as well, one of the justifications coming from folks for the $60 price was that HD was standard instead of an extra price on top. So how is Josie 9 valued at $60? With the very mediocre materials, it's barely a $20 value character but Daz decides to make it an "Original Character" and bam, it's $60? With Daz+ discount it's still higher than the full price of other characters.
So I ask again, what is Daz providing here that makes characters like this so much higher value?
Oh this is mad! I made punch-eligible purchases every day of the Black Friday sale period including Monday so I still had the 20%/40% thing going on Tuesday, but I didn't buy anything because the net prices were worse than Monday (when I had gone totally crazy and bought loads of stuff).
I assumed that the punches would expire at the end of the Black Friday sale period (otherwise I might have made a random cheap purchase on Tuesday). Today I got a banner offer for one "free" punch (10% off) but looks like my Monday punch now means nothing.
And everyone seems to have a different price - I've seen at least 4 different ones posted - so I give up. Oh well, I didn't really want the Josie 9 bundle, I was only tempted by the three free bundles. I can live without them.
I like her shape as always. Josie 8 and 7(I love the character converter xD) were my most used shapes to dial in some youth into female characters whenever I needed a teen or early 20s-looking char. The 3 extra bundles sealed the deal for me as soon as I read that I could get those as well. So yeah, now I'm waiting for a character converter to get Lucas over to Gen 9 or his Gen 9 token.
On the other hand, I don't like her skin. And I wish the cat marks would be separated from any makeup. I really dislike the shine on the cheeks. Guess I will have to make my own, again.
8k normal maps in the Details channel are a(n optional) feature of Genesis 9, not of any particular character, according to MallenLane(?). There never were any 8k textures released except for the leg textures that mistakenly went out and were rescinded. I first heard this rumour about 8k textures from Jay during his V9 intro video.

Are you kidding me. I was told back and forth that G9 base figures are so cool as the have HD onboard. So yeah Vicky 9 is $60 base price but hey, HD is included. You don't have basic anatomic details included with the mesh but hey, never mind, you got HD included and this and that. Now the second base figure for Gen9 I bought was advertised having HD and then they just correct the product page on release day and after I purchased. What the heck? I'm thinking about returning the bundle. And that would be a first for me.
I like her look very much, for me she mixes very well so I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of her dial like I did with all the previous incarnations. :D
I really hope there's a lot of new unique characters for G9 but there are some standbys like Josie that I couldn't do without at this point. lol
I was feeling the same way ... but then I read of another bundle {lot to browse through} which is one I've been waiting for a sale on, so I bought the Josie maga bundle and got 3 of the big bundles: Bonnie 8.1 mega bundle, Victoria 8.1 University bundle and the Ghosts of Christmas Bundle.
Basically because I know myself too ... if nothing better comes along I will be very ticked that I passed on this {having waited a long time for 2 of those bundles}.
I got her and her head is way out of proportion. She looks much better after dialing her head down by dialing in -20% on the proportion head size dial.*
