Ah, thank you. I didn't think I recognized it.
That does look good!
Think I picked up one of these sets and I've wishlisted the others while I figure out what exactly they could be useful for. The latest one is a definite buy because I can imagine loads of scenes it would be great for, and I think you've sold me on the others with your render.
Something weird I noticed, it's quite a bit concerning..
Was the thumbnail/topper image of today's sale made with some gAI?
(https://cdn.daz3d.com/file/dazcdn/media/sale-promo/2024/january/0123/topper.png this one)
With all those reflections, it was a two-hour render on my piddly 3050, but I liked it.
Ooh, that's pretty. I've been buying those sets compulsively because I think they're gorgeous; I've been contemplating filling them with greenery, but hadn't thought about what retexturing could do. That should be fun to explore.
It definitely was. I'm honestly mystified, since this seems to miss the point of the header image on a 3D art asset store.
It's baffling. Really hope that it's just an awkward oversight from daz.
But yeah, google found me the watermarked source on freepikdotcom, minus the wings, the smoke and the other brush effects.
I live in a city with subways, and the tactile pavement is required for platform edges (I believe it's actually a matter of ADA compliance), and at least one of the local municipalities also does them on curb cuts. (We do have a problem because winter is the great destroyer in Massachusetts, and the plastic bump surfaces don't last out in the open very long, so Cambridge started using outdoor tactile plates made out of cast iron.)
Because of that, I can't say I noticed that there was a lot of it in Helsinki, because I was used to it anyway!
I own three or four of FW's brutalist sets at this point, and I confess that I bought them not to use in SF but to use in bad dreams/hallucination sequences, to convey emptiness and desolation. I'm not against brutalism per se, but I think it's hard to make a brutalist building that actually looks welcoming (Harvard has one of the very rare exceptions, and that's probably because it was designed by Le Corbusier: https://carpenter.center/building/architecture )
A.M. has a offical thread now for Australopithecus G9 and he mentions it's the first in a series of our ancestors AND he's thinking of doing female and baby versions if there's any interest so let him know if you all think he should https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/670986/released-australopithecus-g9#latest

Why would you have a vault on an outside-facing wall (with a window)? It would have made more sense to put it next to the other door.
This.
The image slipped through product review, so was picked up and used by marketing. It's been since removed from the product page.
Maybe it's not a vault but a mockup for safecracking training?
I sometimes forget to tap into that part of my imagination. Well played. If you keep the room on an upper level, the door can be used to practice base jumping too.
So now we get Walter 9. Any comments here, or is someone likely to create a new thread.
I'm decidedly interested. It's a somewhat different iteration of old man than what we've had so far. Face is very much of a distinct "type".
I'm digging him. He'd work really well for a character in one of my books. I'm curious about the scars in the promo pic for the pro bundle. Are they part of his textures or from somewhere else? Figured it out. They are not.
https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-gentleman-style-outfit-for-genesis-9 might be nice with some adjustments. I think the buttons are borderline cartoony in size, and it's weird how they seem to parented to the placket of the shirt.
Not sure why a modern men's suit would be classified as a costume, though.
Regarding button size - I don't know.
But anyway, I would assume they are attached with rigid follwer nodes, so you can just scale them.
Not sure what you mean by them being parented to the placket of the shirt.
I was referring to the size of the shirt buttons.
The placket of the shirt is the front part with the button holes. The way the shirt is open at the second button, it should be under the placket and parented to the right side of the shirt, not on top of the placket.
Walter is nice but doesn't bring enough to the table to induce me to buy another G9, especially not at that price, and not when I can get his basic facial structure by a slight mix on the G8 Necromancer and other G8s that I already own. Also, I admit that I'm overly influenced by the hero image, the Dr. Watson one ... but a lot of the effect there is in the facial hair; the mustache and muttonchops instantly change his face from a long oval to a circle, and that's his most interesting look. (Makes me want to take my Jeremy Brett figure and do a little cross-casting--"cross-casting" because Walter there is much more Nigel Bruce than David Burke ...)
I agree with the comment in the other thread that the facial hair really should be sourced; on the other hand, I feel everything used in ANY of the store images for a character should be sourced, even if they are from somewhere else.
One of yesterday's, but I really like Kintsugi: https://www.daz3d.com/kintsugi-hd-for-genesis-9
While there's a lot about her features that I wouldn't normally go for in a character, she somehow just clicks for me. She looks, to me, to tread the line between stylism and realism, and I like what I see in both directions. Some of the renders looks almost G2-esque, which is no bad thing, and others look G9. Don't know how much of that is down to render settings and how much is baked into the product, but it intrigues me. I've been looking at a lot of G2 products lately and like the body shapes and that painterly texture style they often have going on.
I appreciate the porcelain skin too. Turned her from a "she's interesting; may pick her up" character into a "yup, I'll be getting her". I think she could fit nicely into a world that includes rag dolls, which my current project does.
Has anyone bought her?
Oh, I see. I hadn't really paid attention to the shirt buttons.
I bought the suit, for my survey coupon.

Reminds me a little of my Starsky and Hutch cardigan. I think there was a scene where he's wearing it in the rain and I copied it with me as a photo when I was a kid.
My sister recently knitted me one for Christmas lol
I much like the suit as well, although the pants are rather strange. Top parts looks really good though (button placement not much of a problem for me there).
Ahhhhhh, cheers
Well, I prefer my Starsky Cardie :)
Concerning the suit once more, I just bought it and realized that the pants have morphs for putting your hands in the pocket. I really appreciate that, very useful addition!
I had a black baggy sweater from Penny's bought in the mid-90s that I liked enough I bought another. Perfect for freezing offices when you had to 'dress for success'. Gave the second on to my office mate who hated suit jackets. The original finally went to the sweater graveyard after loosing all its buttons and final kiss of death was the elbows wearing out completely after almost 25 years. Bought another at Target, too big, too floppy, catches every door and cupboard handle, yanking me back. I want my old black sweater back.
But I am a fan of pull-over hoodies now. Especially from bars. Warm, cuddly, and a pouch pocket in front for freezing hands when I am waiting for my computer to wake-up or finish a project. Hoods can flip down over eyes for a quick nap with the cats. Retirement is nice sometimes.
https://www.daz3d.com/zombie-tiger-for-genesis-9
is Zombie Tiger a wearable or a morph?
they show the head chopped off so presumably separate morphs
maybe a geoshell clothing?
Everything in the text about what's included and the other items in their shop indicate outfit.
(edit) Though this particular photo begs a question or two...
