I really like the idea of using geoshell textures on this new dress: https://www.daz3d.com/olivine-dforce-outfit-for-genesis-9. Like the dress itself as well. I only wish there was a morph included to reduce the cleavage because, like so often, it's just too extreme for my purposes. Apart from that, a very nice garment I think yes.

Same here. I bought it, figured I layer something under it, but I really wish PA's would start providing a sensible options.

I used the Sexy Skinz Vol II under the Olivine dress and I have a render for you. This was on EM3D Young Prudence  who is an add-on for EM3D Prudence for G9. She is wearing Twinkletoe shoes, a Christmas Freebie Pearl Earrings from NewGuy, a bracelet, and hair from BirthStone. The background is from the great Mec4D. And I thank @Novica for putting me on to the SexySkinz products for just this use.

That is just wonderful memcneil70... I don't have Sexy Skins for G9 (of course not)... But I do for all the other G's... grrrrrrr... I hate having to keep buying stuff for newer generations... ughh... Wishlisted!  Maybe I'll make one of my own since I know how to make geoshells.  ;)  Thanks for sharing.

If you have any of the products to use G8 UVs on G9, you can probably make it work.

That's what I'm thinking Timbales... seems to me I tried it before but since the skins are geoshells they wouldn't fit G9... I'm gonna try again... (fingers crossed)

If you can't get it to work, see if a tight bathing suit top would do the job, with shaders to match the fabric of the dress.

Nope... I've spent over half hour and I can't get the sexy skins from G8 or G3 to work on G9.  The geoshell transfers but I can't get the skins to show up on G9... even if I change the UV to G8/G3.  Also.. you can't 'fit to' a geoshell.  I can fit to any clothing item... but not a geoshell.  :(  I can make a geoshell of my own... but I just wanted to see if I could make the other skins work... I have ALL of them for G3 and G8... Seems a shame I have to buy them again for G9... (sighs)... chaaa chiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!!!!

ok... played a little more (I like a challenge)... I was able to manually put the G8 textures on the G9 geoshell (changed the uv map to G8)... It will do til I can buy the G9 version... They look like different lace effects so I don't mind buying them... At least they are all different laces... lol

My pleasure- you sure made it look good!  I got hooked on Sexy Skinz when they first came out because they're so versatile and no poke through issues. Thanks for the shout-out, that was sweet.

You could do what women in real life do - layer a cami or tanktop under it.

Yeah but I'm mostly doing historical renders, and women before our time didn't tend to do this kind of thing, or not much at least. Probably because there wasn't much Lycra etc. to be had ;-)

That's where corsets and chemises come in - not that that's useful in 3D

I was going to reply that you likely have to apply the texture and transparency maps manually to the G9 geoshell, but I'm glad you figured that out.

They can, make sure the inner outfit has a lower Collision Layer value than the outer (in the Surfaces pane).

A friend and regular here whom I shall not name wrote me elsewhere:

"Today's Daz+ is a sci-fi corridor from Kuj, which is probably sci-fi enough, but does raise the musical question: a corridor to where, exactly? If I'm interpreting the promo images correctly, both ends appear to be sealed off. So not so much a corridor as an inescapable room, maybe."

I wrote back that my keen eye spotted what appeared to be a bend in the corridor and that there was obviously at least one door.

Having bought the set ... and agreeing that the store-page renders do sort of leave it in doubt ... I shall inform you that 1) the corridor does, in fact, have a ninety-degree corner, in accordance with prophecy 2) there are doors at each end 3) the doors are separated surfaces, and while they don't have Door Open sliders per se, one pair is aligned cleanly on X axis and the other aligned cleanly on Z axis, so opening them is quite easy and obvious.

Y'know, in case this information was affecting your purchase decision or something.

    Anywhere you like.

  • Why should 3D people be any different from real people? Most real people have lots of doors to nowhere. It's rare to find a door to somewhere, and they're to be cherished.

    Yes, looks good.

And imagine, he has bought it and scanned it. Then started eating it and scanned it again, untill the cake was almost gone cheeky

Though I wonder how high polycount it has.

  • RAMWolffRAMWolff Posts: 10,212

Yes, that cake with it's various stages of being eaten is quite brilliant.  I wonder if the shades can be made to look like a chocolate cream cake?  Makes me wonder how the UV's are set up.

I guess it was made with 3DF Zephyr...

  • The Princess Cake looks amazingly real: https://www.daz3d.com/yummy-princess-cake. Must have taken ages to create.

I agree about the cake: very nice but maybe a bit heavy (in real life and in Daz). Pity there isn't a piece you could hold in a hand: must have a play with it. (I know what my mother would have said!)

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to angelinart for the Saree today!! And it has pleats!!! It flew, flew, flew into my cart.heart

I've been wanting a proper one since probably my first month shopping at DAZ. It's great to have those natural poses set up for dForce simulation too. I'm hoping I can use it on G8 as well. Will give it all a try this week. smiley
