    Yes, I took it out for a run last night and it still looks pretty good (even just letting DS auto-convert the original RSL shaders to iray) I meant to post a pic, but it's on my desktop PC which is not switched on right now.

    ETA: I'm still on the fence about the Redux - I quite fancy the Dimidrol paving shaders and the pose set looks quite useful - I don't often choose to buy pose sets, but placing characters on steps is something I find infuriatingly fiddly! I wonder if the poses work on the original Streets product?

    agreed.. I have the original and it renders just fine in Iray.  ;)  No need for something new.

    agreed.. I have the original and it renders just fine in Iray.  ;)  No need for something new.

    I also have the original, would have loved the redux set to come as an add-on version as well, at least temporarily.  Funnily, I also went on a quick hunt for the original in the store, just to see if it was still there. Since it's not, I'm actually glad that this beautiful set is being kept 'alive', so to speak, in this new version.

    Honestly, I found it a bit underwhelming, if for no other reason than that it's the kind of thing that's incredibly easy to make if you know other programs.

    great for those new to DAZ but I realised looking at it I have virtually every style of chair and room in it scattered throughout my huge library

    I still wishlisted it though as love that stuff

    I'm the Rococo set fan already. I just bought it and it not only looks fabulous on the promos but has plenty of materials and is very customizable. Definitely a winner. yesyes

    I was exited to see the Rococo set in the store, but I somehow needed to find a way to fix those "American style" Single Hung windows, and replace them with some matching European windows.

    Hi there, if you wanted to render a historic UK home of, say, the Georgian period, I believe the single-hung style would be just fine, as it is actually the older. For France, sash windows aren't all that appropriate at all, as far as I know. Same for Germany. Don't know much about any other country. But there's no general 'European' window style, so you would have to check for each country. Hope that helps!

    Yeah, they tend to be rather drafty. Do you have windows opening to the outside in Finland then? We have some in our house (Northernmost Germany and in an exposed setting), Danish design. They're supposed to work better in high winds as they get pressed into the frame rather than the wind trying to bust them open. - Anyway, interesting, I think, these differences! And in a render, details like this can make or break the immersion. For my digital needs atm, the single-hung style (and traditional 12 panes) of the Rococo set is just perfect! Now, only to find the necessary change ...

    I'll pick it up as soon as I have an excuse. I wasn't planning a biggish buy yesterday, but it happened. blush I couldn't say no to the 30% deal. I just need a little more push to build a new cart, and that goes right into it. We'll see what tomorrow brings, right?

    Hi there, if you wanted to render a historic UK home of, say, the Georgian period, I believe the single-hung style would be just fine, as it is actually the older. For France, sash windows aren't all that appropriate at all, as far as I know. Same for Germany. Don't know much about any other country.     Yes, in France you would typically have a pair of casement windows, not sash ones.

    In normal houses the windows were casement type, outer ones either hinged to open outwards or held in place with four latches per pane. Inner ones were installed for winter and any gaps between the window and the frame were filled with strips of clothing, flax, whatever to prevent draft.

    Attached a typical window from 70+ years back

    Rich people had bigger, more decorative windows but double glazing has been the norm for over 200 years

    Would be cool to have a newer model of an actual French house in the store! I only know of the Le Village set which is very nice and has casement windows as far as I remember, but is quite dated. Of course we have the gorgeous Streets of Paris and the Bordeaux town, but they're mainly outsides and shops and such. Very pretty, though, I sure love to see sets like this in the store.

    Still haven't decided on buying the Rococo set right away. Maybe wait till tomorrow, for a better deal with buying something new? But it's sooooo lovely ...

    Oh, such a beautiful window, love it! In my parents' house, we had double windows a bit like this as well, but both pane sets were fixed to the frame permanently. My mom used to put the first spring flowers in between the panes, there was about 10 cm space between the panes. Isolated pretty well, don't know why they were phased out so completely.

    (direct translation, Pitsihuvila = Lace Cottage)

    What a pity that Linday made such a mistake with their excellent Rococo set! I can imagine that they confused the fanlights of traditional European windows with US windows. You can recognise it immediately by searching for windows + rococo. 

    There is a set with walls, windows and doors at https://www.daz3d.com/collective3d-create-a-room-xpack-3. It contains mainly US sash windows, but also a few in the European style. Of course, it would be best if Linday were to provide an update with matching windows, because for me at least, US windows in 18th century Paris, Potsdam or Vienna unfortunately don't work at all.
